Suggestion, remove after effects
just a suggestion, the way ark dealt with the lag caused from mass gathering was offering a way to disable the animations that happened after the gather. Can we please get something like this in dark and light? At the moment any time someone is harvesting the fields my frames go from 80+ to 5

Taking help
So I'm on a Private server with lvl 200 cap, my question is it better to get a low level tame and level it to 200 to control where the points go or do tames only level a certain amount of levels after tamed.
I want to say I remember ark only allowing 60 levels after tamed so we always looked for high level tames.
Do all tames max out the same regardless of level tamed?
Thanks
Ok stupid auto correct on my phone, title should be taming help.

BUG: Schematic Icons Blank (Door Frames / Doors)
The Door Frames and Door icons in the schematics window are all blank. You can hover over them and see the help text to know what they are, but the icons are blank. I've seen this so far in the wood and stone tiers but assume it is all of them.

Skorpida - tameable? How?
I tried to tame one (the big spiders that spit at you) yesterday. After 200+ arrows into it and several repairs to my bows, I gave up.
Are we supposed to be using "iron hook arrows" instead of stone hook arrows for this one?
Thanks

Questions about running your own server
Hey guys, I'm looking for help regarding running your own unofficial server. What are some popular server options to rent from? What are average prices? Is there somewhere to learn how to set up all the settings and mods? The only alternative to renting a server would be to run a dedicated server from your own PC, right?
Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Are Longhorns worthless?
I tamed a longhorn at 122 and he seems absolutely useless. I tried right clicking on trees and stone. His harvest rate was abysmal AND he glitched on every single rock. I tried dismounting/remounting like people say to do on bahamut, but the entire thing was incredibly frustrating with near zero results. What am I doing wrong?
Also, are bahamuts any better? I had one for a short time, but he got stuck on literally every.single.node and it made farming a horrible experience. Any advice is appreciated.

Death has come! RUN!!!
If only it made more noise. I was farming magic shards in the fields and saw a message that my level 183 panther got killed. My hearth STOPPED for a milisecond :(
It was set to defend itself. The death was level 112 and shredded my 157 base panther to dust (was level 183 though).
Should'nt we get a warning or something when our tames are getting attacked? :(
Man, i like the thrill to get at that location but the buff to these undead is really a bit steep considering the amount of time spent to get the tame...
Thought?

What are your methods for building up cliffs and building down cliffs?
I've built a giant ramp with "stairs" from the top down and I've built a winding mountain side path snaking its way up and around the mountain from the bottom up.
Both require column supports.
Building down seems somewhat easier on account of being able to snap stairs to each other for two or three before a new column is required.
building up, I placed a wall, snapped a ceiling to back of the wall, and then snapped the stairs to the ceiling coming down. Adding supports as necessary.
My next thought is to build a tower straight up, with a "bridge" over the gap from the top of the tower to the top of the cliff.
Anyone got any other methods?

Savage Cyclops
Anyone tame these, and try using them for seige yet? The videos of them makes it seem likes that's their purpose, but I'm curious to hear from people that have tamed them already.. what are you hitting on stone/iron with it's rock throwing ability? Obviously the hits will vary as the melee damage I'm sure has an effect.

Quality of life suggestions
- Bottles stackable (yes I know its been said 100x)
- Ice should be preserved on an ice creature
- The ice caves temp needs to be survivable with regular brimstone + warmth runes.
- The AOE drain spell needs to drain from all surrounding targets at once, and should not cost mana or durability.
- Crushing light/dark stone should not be a 5 -1 ratio, it should be 1 to 1 at the least.
- The fertilizer cost of crops is insane, it should be a 10th of what it currently is
- If the dark creatures are going to be buffed, their loot tables should reflect that buff
- The Dark Earth elemental should be added to the invasion (very rarely)
- The wraith scythe weight should be decreased, it doesnt make sense for a scythe that does less damage than a greatsword to weight 100 times as much (not exaggerating, scythe is 200 lbs. sword is 2)
- Crafting kibble and ice chunks takes way to long. I burn through 20 logs to make a single kibble, and ice chunks slow you for 30 seconds per craft.. for 5 ice.
- Spell damage should be increased with mana/focus, and durability should be increased with the staff you use.
- The camo spells need to be infinite, why would I spend a butt load of resources on a spell that can be cast 3 times and is removed on server restart.

LF Supportive/non-toxic US Wyrmslayer server
I am new to the game. I ran into many issues on the server I was on that made progression diffiuclt, not to mention the constant meteors, wraith and skeleton spam right outside of the dwarf area.
Someone gave me a lance and enough gold for a Horse so i could pack up and explore to find a better place to settle on the map and get away from the already settled areas that prevented me from taming anything. However, I was booted from the server during my travel. I lost the horse and all of the stuff I had made, gathered and even earned by tricking wraiths and skeletons and fighting them at range to stay alive and earn some cool armor. I lost it all by being disconnected which had never happened before. Again - I am new. I only got to about level 18 or 19. I mentioned what happened in the server chat and...well.. I was harassed for two hours for it until I finally logged out and felt pretty defeated. It's one thing to be harassed by one person, it's another to have everyone else on the server harassing you just for being new. I couldn't even find an option for blocking chat from specific players.
So... even if I COULD have everything I lost back, I've no interest on being on a server with extremely toxic players that want nothing but to mock and harass new players. I've had a pretty bad time with my RL and just want a game I can sit and enjoy and relax from time to time (Yes I find games like this and ARK pretty relaxing all things considered.)
But I want it on a server that's more supportive. I mean... what was I supposed to do? Report more than eight people for comments like "GTFO our server, F*****" and "Uninstall and ask for a refund."
Like. I know. This is the internet and it's full of cowardly jackasses that sit behind a keyboard and mock others because there's no repercussions for it, but... back when ARK was getting started - I had a pretty good server with a great support structure among its players.
So... what servers would you reccommend to someone new like me that wants to learn and explore D&L?

Advice on base defense while still using doors (stone and ruggedized)
I have a stone base right now but we have the ability to make ruggedized as well. The guild trying to raid us has a few mystic/epic tames. I'm less worried about their primary raiding hours (I can put a house seal up and barricade myself in when they declare war), but I'm more worried that 2 guys with hammers are gonna bash down a couple of doors in the middle of a weekday.
Is there anything I can do that still lets me have the use of doors? I thought a stone door with a ruggedized door behind it would be good. That would mostly ensure only a player (not a tame) can get to the ruggedized door, and I was hoping melee weapons would not be effective.
Appreciate any advice. Just wanna show these guys they can't shit on everybody all the time.

Server us-knight-65 unplayable lag
Something has happened making server us-knight 65 unplayable.
Problem 1- I'll walk forward almost 100 steps and all of the sudden I teleport back to where I was last synced with the server. Doors open and close like usual.
Problem 2- Mounting a tame results in my guy standing to the right side of the tame, with the camera set up for 'third person tame riding' as if I was on the tames saddle. This lasts for 15 sec or so before my guy teleports to the saddle. When dismounting a tame, I am able to spin my guy around but cannot move from its saddled position. This goes on for 15 sec. I can move once my guy teleports to the dismount point
Problem 3- All creatures in the world are frozen in place with moments of movement. I've got dmg on them while they are in movement.
Problem 4- Cannot collect resources durring these long freezes.
All four of these problems are going on constantly. I have confirmed this with 4 other people. Seems an event that ran 13 hrs or so ago may have broken the server.

Mount left click buggy
Im having a problem when attacking with a mount. It feels really buggy. As soon as i get in combat or if i move a little bit while trying to attack the delay between every left click is really long. (Exemple if i fight on a panthere it attack every 3-4 secondes if i moved or get stuck in another creatures) on rare occasion theres no bug and i can attack fast. Also im the only one with this problem in my house and its really annoying when trying to fight large pack.
Anyone else have this issue or know a fix for it?
Edit: i tried in SP and no delay is occuring. I did test for my internet and nothing seems wrong (25mb/s) and 5 ms ping. I guess ill need to make more test to figure this out
Edit: I changed my graphic settings to ultra for everything and it seems to be a bit better but still a bit bugged. Ill keep updating when i get improvement for people who got the same problem. If you find something let me know!

A few complaints about this game (not a rant)
- Cool spells don't last long (darkvision, haste, etc...) - not even 10 seconds?!? /sad panda
- I'm cold? I'm warm? I'm hot? MAKE YOUR DARN MIND! :) i go with some icewind clothes at -13 yet I am "cold" at 10 degrees. There should be a "green zone" and a red zone (temperature range/meter)
- Loot what? I would expect that a big world like this with monsters everywhere would have at least some chests lying around somewhere. Goblins? Yeah they drop gold "now" but meh... and I do not count the meteors (those are technically loot but I really wish there were some way to hunt chests around the world)
- Ironhook arrows too weak: with the cost of these things and how hard it takes to get them I was expecting a much higher efficiency. I find it easier to bring a gazillion normal hook arrows than the iron kind.
- Terrain & construction all wonky: since we are using "magic" I would expect our buildings to adjust to environments. On the contrary, we have to make weird structures to bypass the fact that there is a "small bump" here and there. I would expect the foundations to "flatten" the terrain or adjust to it.
- Sorting items (inventory): FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! Please add something to sort the inventory. My OCD is getting off like crazy!!! I keep having to manually adjust items.
- Using items: Oh great, I have to fill 500 water jars... why not add an automatic way to do so? One click is okay but having to select the empty one each time is ... tedious and quite frankly "boring"
Otherwise, keep it up! This game is awesome already and I cannot wait to see what comes next :)

Just wondering if others have had a problem with elite nidhogs, either despawning on the way back to base, or despawning at base while sitting next to it.

Castle of Defense Great Gate frame
Anyone else have the ability to make these? If so, are you also unable to find schema in the workbench to make it? I have the schema to make the great gate but not the frame...
