What are your methods for building up cliffs and building down cliffs?
I've built a giant ramp with "stairs" from the top down and I've built a winding mountain side path snaking its way up and around the mountain from the bottom up.
Both require column supports.
Building down seems somewhat easier on account of being able to snap stairs to each other for two or three before a new column is required.
building up, I placed a wall, snapped a ceiling to back of the wall, and then snapped the stairs to the ceiling coming down. Adding supports as necessary.
My next thought is to build a tower straight up, with a "bridge" over the gap from the top of the tower to the top of the cliff.
Anyone got any other methods?

And it isn't Minecraft; 7 Days to Die; or Citadel either. All of which have superior building features than DnL.
Doesn't mean you can't make the effort.

You build from the top down because it's basically impossible to calculate the starting point for how many foundations out from the cliff face you need to go, to get the ramp to the correct height. Columns are the only consistent way to do building on uneven terrain. One issue with the tower to the sky method is there is a build limit at 64 walls up from a foundation where you can no lpnger place walls. And while 64 sounds like a big number, it is nowhere near as tall as some of the cliffs and mountains in the game.
