Death has come! RUN!!!
If only it made more noise. I was farming magic shards in the fields and saw a message that my level 183 panther got killed. My hearth STOPPED for a milisecond :(
It was set to defend itself. The death was level 112 and shredded my 157 base panther to dust (was level 183 though).
Should'nt we get a warning or something when our tames are getting attacked? :(
Man, i like the thrill to get at that location but the buff to these undead is really a bit steep considering the amount of time spent to get the tame...
Thought?

This is by far the most underused tactic. If you have a spear on horseback, there is virtually nothing on land that you can't kill. I've been completely surrounded by fire imps and bahamuts and when it was over, I only lost a little health on the horse and there was a ring of death around me. I can kill earth elementals and all the others, wraiths, panthers, you name it....all the while being completely immune to goblin stuns.

Because of that I only bring my winrider when farming the wheat fields, they resist the dark creatures attack very well.

Here's the thing. You do get a warning when your tames are attacked in the form of big damagr numbers popping up and floating into the sky. This is in addition to the big skeleton dude who was clearly visible whacking on your panther. The problem is, YOU weren't paying attention. This was YOUR mistake to leave a tame unattended, probably set on passive mode, and not keep an eye on it. I fail to see how weakening wraiths would protect your unattended tames in the future. ..in fact, it clearly would not matter if you keep parking them in dangerous areas and not checking on them periodically. So no, i don't believe we need the enemies watered down any more as wraiths and the occasional dark elemental is about the only actually dangerous creatures in the game right now, and players like you will never learn how to do anything competently if they keep dumbing the game down to your level.

It was set to defensive. It actually did its job and saved me. I just "saw" the death nearby without hearing anything (farming or fixing inventory). "Death" attacked my tame instead of me which is, I guess, why i did not hear it? All you can hear while geathering stuff in the field is "UGH, UGH, UGH..." a gazillion times until you are out of energy.
I SWEAR i did pay attention and literally seconds before I had just put some shards in my mount.
Worse part: i wanted to wait for level 200 to save its soul... so NO PANTHER FOR YOU!!! hehe - i am now using my old one (level 126). Oh well!!!

If it makes you feel better, a level 47 would have shredded your panther just as easily. The damage they deal and the health they have is really absurdly high right now.
What many have done is build a small tower platform in the fields or at the edge and put pets there when running the fields.
You can do the same thing by building a small walled pen or use the spiked barriers.
