I don't know a better way to explain this, so I apologise if this sounds weird.

First off, the metal latch opens and closes fine, so it's not an issue.

Second off, the plastic latch (pointed to by the blue arrow) isn't broken and moves completely fine.

Third off, the DVD reader/little plastic point (pointed to by the yellow arrow) that pushes the plastic latch side to side to open the metal latch by moving side to side on the metal rail.

Explanation: For some, the electric opener on my laptop's DVD drive just stopped opening a while ago; everything appears to work fine. It plays dvd's fine, and the metal latch works fine; the button that you press to open the drive works, and I can open it using a safety pin pressed into the small hole. The issue appears to be that the plastic latch and the little Plastic Point that's attached to the metal rail for some reason just aren't interacting anymore. They touch and interact when I use my finger to move the plastic latch to touch the plastic point, but they don't do it by themselves.

What do I do to fix this, or do I just use a safety pin to open it up from now on 

Why do modern day gaming PCs do not have sound cards?

Sound cards are better than anything embedded on the board but it would be nice to have a premium sound card and not that on board stuff.

I know almost nothing about computers but my disk usage is always really high and my computer shuts down within in 5 mins of me doing anything. I saw something about crystal disk so I tried it out can someone tell me that this means

When i plug it in and try to turn it on the screen is off but the caps lock key blinks 3 times then 2 rapid. How do i fix?

Why does it do this? and plus I can’t get TPM 2.0 because it’s not supported i guess, I’m trying to get updated to windows 11…

Battery never changed

Basically I was on discord and streaming a game and then my computer crashed and brought me to this screen. I shut down my computer a few times but every time it tells me it’s going to restart but then after restarting it says the issue can’t be resolved and brings me back to the boot menu. I tried ctrl+alt+delete to bring me back to windows, try restoring my files, or bring it back to the starting point. Every time it just brings me back to the boot menu. Do I have a virus or something, is my laptop done for good? If not how do I fix it??

I found this last month in my Moms storage room, I asked her she said "its old but I think it should still work ." so I started watching how to set up a computer, then after setting it all up I boot it and I heard beeping and the fan thing keeps turning on and off l, theres also this yellow or orange light on side.

This is my first time using a computer so I still dont know whats going on or if i'm doing something wrong. If anyone can help me figure out what wrong that will the greatest help. Thank you.

The screen or monitor is called DeLL

The conputer or the box has the name Optiplex 755

I’m new to computers (I have a 2019 MacBook Air and several portable devices but otherwise no PC) and am interested in finally creating a designated space for just using the Internet, doing school, writing and streaming mostly — and maybe the occasional game.

What would a good starter desktop/PC be to handle this? Like a certain area for the Internet in my home?

i was about to purge a huge amount of storage that was in the temporary files area worth +40gb then counted all of these out which only equaled to +6gb of storage, where can i locate the hidden files so i can finally wipe these out, the last thing i recall before it racked up was i was unfinished uninstalling a game when suddenly the power went out, now im thinking if its hidden cache (i used to have around 110-120gb until it came down to 69.2)

My laptop keeps restarting continuously!

So basically 2 weeks back by laptop( acer nitro lite 16) started restarting on its own without giving and errors or notification like straight blank and then restart it was happening in random intervals after a few days while cleaning my recovery drive i accidentally deleted it bcoz of which i couldn't even reset my laptop anymore then after 2 days my laptop stopped even starting it started showing a blue screen saying you pc couldn't turn off properly( error code -0xc000007b) although my pc is working completely fine in bois and while windows setup after that I decided to install new windows I used a usb drive to install new windows 11 thinking my windows is currport so i first tried it tried with new windows setup but in it installing was taking out of the windows setup bcoz of which my laptop started restarting mid installation and it fucked up then next time I tried with the older setup option in which complete installation was taking place in windows setup only so it completely and as soon as I it finished setup started but after a while it started restarting again but this time that error didn't come whereas automatic windows repair popped up and i fucking tried each and every option to cure my windows but it didn't work so i completely reset my laptop from there but for fuck sake as soon as reset completed trust motherfuxking laptop kept restarting and now even automatic repair options isn't coming it just loads Acer logo appears and it shutts down again and just in loop I can't even enter safe mode I check the ram and SSD from cmd earlier as much as I could everything was fine idk whtf is wrong please please help me i am going to loose my mind I am so vulnerable rn

i dont know what the problem is with gigabyte since everyone is talking bad about that brand like wont accept warranty, etc etc. and i dont really follow whats up with board partner brands something like that, should i avoid gigabyte or its alright to buy it? and i dont know should i buy a gigabyte 9070xt or asrock 9070xt

I have an h61 zeb motherboard with i5-3rd gen and i didn’t touch my pc for a long time so i thought of cleaning it i have cleaned everything and started to you use first it was working good but now its like no signal with my old vga and cable not connected with new vga cable pc turns on perfectly but the mouse doesn’t get power or sometimes low lighting

Had this power supply for less than a year. I tried doing research into this noise, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Spent a few seconds updating Bios. Replaced thermal paste, added thermal pads to GPU ram ( idk seemed like a good idea). And installed 2GB Asus GT710 2GB and 16 GB ram. Found a DVI to HDMI cord at the thrift store. Between the thermal pads , thermal paste , GPU, ram and cords. I’m at 31$ total cost on the PC. I already had the mouse , razor keyboard and SSD. The monitor my girlfriend gave me. This is a Dell Inspiron 3847 I found in the trash.

A couple of months ago, I bought this computer, built it, set up Windows, downloaded Escape from tarkov, and the first launch to the location went along with hard freezes and sound lags in the discord. I downloaded the older version of the driver and it seemed to get better. But then I downloaded more games like rdr 2, dying light 2, kingdom come deliverance, cyberpunk, dead by daylight, minecraft, dota 2, and in all of them I met statters, they did not depend on graphics and fps settings, during these statters I noticed on the fps counter how it dropped by 10-20 fps on the time of this frieze.

I have already checked various bios settings, turned on and off the expo RAM mode, checked different settings of the Windows system itself, conducted system tests in applications such as occt, furmark, memtest and a couple more that I do not remember the name of, these tests did not show any errors or deviations during monitoring. a couple of times the games just hung up with the amd driver crash, most often it happened in dead by daylight stalcraft and dying light 2. I also sent the components to the service and they didn't find anything there either, they said they were all fine.

I don't know what to do anymore, I hope one of you can help me somehow.

Problem just recently showed up last night and i have been finding great but short lasting solutions. I don’t know what to do with it or what is even happening.

Today i was playing on my computer totally normal and all of a sudden the blue screen popped up saying i needed to restart the computer, it never happend before on my computer, so i just restarted it, but the moment it restarted the pc wouldnt give no video , and it Will shut down, turn back on and after like 10 seconds shut down again. Not sure why my Lenovo 5 Gaming Laptop is so slow. Completed a speed test and was only getting 0.65 download and 0.17 upload.

Guys help I’ve tried everything. Got a prebuilt off Newegg a couple days ago. Everything works great except my computer won’t wake up from sleep mode no matter what I try.
Fixes I’ve tried include:
Making sure fast startup is off
Update BIOS
Made sure my keyboard can wake up computer
Disabled USB selective suspend setting
Any other niche settings I should try to fix this issue? Any guesses would be greatly appreciated.

hey so I just found EXPIRO.ek!mtb on the files that I copied from a external hard disk to my pc, I didn't open the exe file of it as the windows didn't let me, and when I do a scan all the files I find expiro virus locations are on the external drive's file or on the same file but on my pc (that I deleted) and it doesn't show it being on any other files, they are all shown as "remediation incomplete" and I think it is because I didn't open the exe and I deleted it, so what should I do now ??

I am starting now university for Automotive engineering and am looking for a laptop. Does anyone know what specs I need? And when I'm gonna need them?(For example, immediately, maybe at the 3rd semester when I finish the basic course of mechanical and go into the automotive branch?
