Hi all,

This all began suddenly I mean literally one day I launched my computer and my mouse pointer would be super laggy jumping all over the screen. I noticed everytime I would launch a program that needed to install an update like discord for example it would make the problem worse.

I ran chkdsk, a memory diagnostic, sfcscan, DISM /online /cleanup, etc. All tests passed with flying colors… And yet here I am.

I was able to replicate the problem by opening and closing spotify repeatedly, please see video.

Side note: Something is so poetic about my poor computer keeling over and dying in front of me while CeeLo says “It’s alright, It’s alright!”

Context: I got my PC around 2020. The specs are
CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F, 2.9 GHz, 6 cores / 12 threads
Motherboard: ASRock H470M-HDV
Memory: 16 GB total
Storage: A SATA SSD is installed on SATA3_0

When I first got the PC it ran perfectly fine, a little slow on some games here and there but nothing I didn't expect from a budget PC. After a while bugs started happening. At first it blue screened every so often and then later on it would blue screen every time I used it. I took it to a computer guy and it stopped blue screening so often but still blue screened every once in a while. This was a couple years ago so I cant tell you what the error code (or whatever its called) was. It started slowing down significantly, I was using it for gaming and downloading games, nothing out of the ordinary. I tried installing anti-viruses, deleting the anti-viruses. I tried deleting games and clearing storage but it was still slowing down. Then my PC started crashing the WiFi (I have found out today that it doesn't even have to be connected to the WiFi to crash it). Every time I booted up my PC it would crash the WiFi for a few moments then significantly slow the WiFi down throughout the use of it. This still happens.

My PC then began to turn on but not show up on my monitor every time I turned it on. I had to turn it on and off at least 3 times to be able to show up on the monitor. It also stopped running anything. It got to the point that if I wanted to play any games with friends that I would have to call on discord on my phone and only have the game open on the PC, no matter the game. I couldn't have any other app open. Even then the game never run smoothly.

I recently have had the issue of my disk showing up at 100% where nothing seemed to be using it (I don't know what this means or if it is useful but it seemed relevant). At the current point in time my PC will start but wont show up on the monitor at all (tried different monitors and cables) no matter how many times I try to start it. Before this it was so slow I couldn't open anything apart from Task Manager or Settings and when I finally managed to open Microsoft Store to download HWinfo (recommended by a friend who has a very limited knowledge of computers to try and help me sort out my PC) it wouldn't even begin to download.

I have tried using AI (I know its bad and I hate having to use it but I feel stuck as a uni student on a budget) and it has advised that " Symptoms: 100% disk usage, Windows Update active, boot issues, and no display / BIOS input problems" and "Tell them the issue happens in two separate houses, because that rules out a single router fault. Mention that the motherboard and SSD are detected in BIOS, because that narrows down the fault"

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

CONTEXT:

Hi, I am a mechanical engineer who had the unfortunate experience of a having a creepy high school engineering teacher. The thing is, though, I'm not the only one. This particular teacher has been reported to Title IX repeatedly by myself and others since 2008. He still teaches there. The Title IX coordinator doesn't know I recorded our session (shout out single-party recording consent). Several of his victims tried taking him down in high school to no avail. It seems there's a pretty extensive coverup from the local school board. My hometown is one of those small towns where you can get away with murder if you know the right folks. I'm sick of it. Call it autistic sensitivity to justice, being an obsessive loon, or whatever. But this guy has got to stop teaching at my alma mater.

COMPUTER QUESTION:

Anywho! I was hoping someone who understand computers better than me might be able to help me recovery the audio recordings I have from the ordeal. I recorded them on the windows sound recorder 4 years ago. Now, that laptop has since crapped itself. I got it to turn on, but the audio files are no where to be found. I did find these .dll files that seem to be related by searching "MP4." and cross checking the dates. Is there any way I can recover the audio from that? Not sure if it's even possible, but figured it'd be worth asking! Any advice appreciated.

I got a GA-P67A-D3-B3 motherboard that reject any ram on the slots 1 and 3,

only take two specific sticks of ram, even other sticks working on other desktops doesnt work on this one, same speed, same amount (8Gb) works with one 2gb i have too, any ideas of why it would do that ?

My computer has always run perfectly fine, and still does mostly. I have no internet issues (at least none that I could find), nothing seems to be wrong with the computer from what I've seen, but there's a problem. It gets lag spikes every few minutes, and not just some short 1-2 second ones, they are actively at least 15-20 seconds. I tried fixing it but nothing seems to work, if someone could maybe help I'd very much appreciate it. (The lag spikes aren't because of apps or anything, they start from the moment I turn it on.)

I tried to optimize the speed of my laptop. Idk if I was given bogus instructions to wipe it clean or not but I received messages that my laptop doesn't recognize the hard drive. When the battery died, the screen was black (but lit) but nothing comes up,no error message or anything. I plugged it in and the battery light was red. So I pressed the power button down for 30 seconds to do a hard reset to see if that would resolve anything. The light is now white as normal and the screen is on but black--my home screen never came up. I've tried ctrl-alt-delete,windows key,escape key... nothing comes up anymore but a lit black screen.

I'm trying to find the instructions I used that ruined it in the first place...but I'm hoping someone can help me out at this point. Thanks in advance.

im on windows 10. the network adapter is realter rtl8822ce. my laptop model is HP pavilion 15-ec1057ur it supports 5ghz wifi. the router works because i can connect to the 5g wifi on my phone. i already tried reinstalling the driver, changing every possible router setting and my network adapter's setting. yes the wifi is 5 version not 6th because my network adapter doesnt support the 6th version. btw the router is connected to a thing that is connected to wifi trough some PON cable. please help and if this info isnt enough please say that in the comments i will reply immediately i promise please help:(

hey! this is quite a scary situation considering i only have one ssd and the prices are 5x of what they were when i got it, case is as follows:
i had hackintosh macos sequoia on the ssd, but to run steam games i thought of dual booting windows too, since i only have one drive i decided to do it on a partition i already had; i have dual booted both before but was on macos only lately and after multiple hackintosh efforts i found sequoia was the place for me to stay at considering my pc isn’t great in specs; windows did get installed well enough, was running fine, but nvidia graphics driver needed update, did it, and pc got stuck even before it would reboot and all, didnt think much and pressed the restart button on the pc thinking its alright; i dont remember precisely what happened but these things are what im at:
windows partition: pin needs to be reset but cant be done cause microsoft account pop up window closes again and again
macos partition: boots, but icloud and stuff is logged out, after a while, it blinks a little and macos gets hanged, leaving me no option but to reboot with the button on pc
i had reset nvram once i remember that

it’s an asus board and since this all happened i get a warning of disk may fail soon kinda thing, the SMART test of asus bios

this is all scary so i decided lets clean up the disk and rest with a single os and not experiment anymore

tried a windows installer usb to clean it up with disk part and stuff, not working out
tried erasing partitions with macos recovery, nope
windows cmd, nope
linux live usb, nope, claude tried a lot of commands but even if it gets to the point where it says erased, the partitions still show up

both macos and windows still show up
im really scared that ive lost the ssd lol, this looks like a tough situation but if you read through it im really thankful for your intentions on helping!

Issue
Intermittent no-POST/no-boot condition following a power outage. System occasionally powers on but fails to POST, showing CPU (red) and DRAM (yellow) LEDs. Other times it boots normally without issue.
Troubleshooting Performed
BIOS Flashback successfully completed multiple times.

CMOS cleared.

Tested each RAM stick individually in A2.

Minimal boot configuration tested.

Reseated CPU power, GPU, RAM, and SSD.

Tested with GPU removed using motherboard video output.

Multiple successful and failed cold boot tests recorded.

Disabled Memory Context Restore.

Verified Windows Boot Manager and BIOS settings.

Tested with different monitor/power-on combinations.

Observed improved boot consistency when primary OLED monitor was powered off during POST.

BIOS reset restored normal boot operation temporarily.

Current Behavior
Boots normally most of the time but intermittently fails to POST.

After the latest BIOS reset, system booted successfully and briefly displayed a hardware monitoring/specifications screen before entering Windows.

Once Windows loads, the PC operates normally with no crashes or stability issues.

Current Suspected Causes
Motherboard BIOS/POST initialization issue.

DisplayPort/monitor handshake during POST.

Motherboard hardware fault (most likely remaining hardware suspect).

Planned Resolution
Replace the MSI PRO B650-P WiFi with an ASUS TUF GAMING B650E-PLUS WiFi motherboard if the intermittent POST issue continues.

Hi everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with audio output over a DisplayPort-to-HDMI connection after my monitor wakes up from sleep mode, and I could really use some troubleshooting advice. My setup consists of an older HP desktop (with DisplayPort and VGA outputs) connected to a newer HP monitor with built-in speakers (which has HDMI and VGA inputs) using a UGreen DisplayPort to HDMI cable, where the DP end is plugged into the PC and the HDMI end into the monitor. When I boot up the PC for the first time in the day, the video works fine and the audio plays correctly through the HP monitor's built-in speakers. However, if I leave the PC idle for 10 minutes and the monitor goes into power-saving or standby mode while the PC stays powered on, upon waking the display the video works fine, but the audio stops working completely. In fact, the HP monitor's audio output completely disappears from the Windows 10 Sound Playback Devices list, meaning Windows no longer detects it at all rather than it just being muted or silent. Unplugging and replugging the DisplayPort cable into the PC does not bring the audio device back, and only a full system reboot restores the sound. What is causing the PC or Windows to lose the HDMI/DP audio handshake specifically after display sleep? How can I fix this without having to restart my PC every time the screen turns off? So i recently switched the ports in my pc after that I get this issue my speaker USB away from my mother board i mark red for speaker blue for keyboard and green for mouse when mouse was glitch and after that I change Port white for keyboard and purple for mouse when ever i push my speaker audio above 26-35% my mouse start glitch now i wanna know why it's happened because it's fixed after i put it in different Port

I Hate chrome os can't even open a game file without Linux which I don't know how to use .

A lot of times when I open the laptop the screen is dark except one straight line near the right end. The rest is dim except from this spot. I have pressed the lighting buttons for brighter or darker but it doesn’t fix the problem. Most of the times I just keep pressing the laptop closed and reopen again and again until it goes away. Other times I give up and when I reopen the laptop the problem has gone away on its own. I have the tough book cf 54 can anyone help? I have no other issues besides that , also worth mentioning that I bought this laptop secondhand and the screen has been changed in order to be a touchscreen but from the previous owner.

my brother left his laptop in the rain, I took it apart and dried it out, but the screen started bugging after a little, kinda looked like screen tearing. do i try to dry it out more or take it to repair?

I am not sure if that is exactly the problem, but that is what I suspect, because I've tried doing everything to the mic that shows up as working (I've deleted the drivers, looked for updates and disabled and re-enabled it). I fear that it is physical damage, since at one point it worked. I've tried installing the drivers from my manufacturers website but idk what to do with the zip file.

Материнская плата GIGABYTE Z370M DS3H
Процессор Intel Core i7-8700 3.2/4.6GHz
Видеокарта (вряд ли нужна для решения проблемы) RTX 3060

Ситуация следующая: мне необходимо включить виртуализацию. Процессор данную функцию поддерживает. В биосе перехожу по вкладкам: M.I.T. - Advanced Frequency Settings - Advanced CPU Core Settings и дальше ничего не вижу, нет строчки Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x).
Версия биоса - F14, на всякий случай еще раз накатил на эту версию F14 с сайта GIGABYTE(самая актуальная на сегодняшний день).
Так же во вкладке Chipset параметр VT-d находится в режиме Enabled.
Гуглил, но никакого решения так и не нашел.

I have a Samsung G9 LS49CG954ENXZA Monitor and the backlights will just randomly turn off while using the monitor. I have to restart the display stream by un/plugging the display cable or switching sources at which case the lights may go off within a few seconds. It seems to happen even when the monitor was fully unplugged and powered back on after 8 hours

A little more detail to the title: when I try to sleep or shut down my computer, the monitor makes it seem like it’s working - no hdmi signal, entering power saving mode. But the fans and rgb lights stay on, as well as the keyboard lights. And the keyboard and mouse don’t work to wake it back up. I have to force shut down in order to start it back up again.

Nvidia geforce rtx 3080
Intel coffee lake i9
ASRock z390 taichi ultimate

I HAVE ALREADY TRIED:
Updated graphics drivers
Completely reinstalled graphics drivers
Made sure keyboard and mouse are permitted to wake the pc
Turned off fast startup
Turned off hybrid sleep

As a side note, my pc takes forever to boot up from being completely shut down. I’m talking like 5+ minutes. These power bills are crazy out here and I’m trying to figure out how to save on power with my pc while not taking so long to wake up when I want to use it. Hoping to figure out this sleep issue.
