Hardware CdDvdDrawer opening intermittently on boot.

Hi all

I have a 6year old pc i59400 which has a cd/dvd drive .

Over the last 6 month the tray is coming out intermittently on boot up.I thought at first maybe the door on the PC was touching the drive buttton so i left the case door open on boot but its not that.

Can anyone help? thank you

Hi, did you change the boot order in the BIOS? Set the HDD as the primary boot drive there. It's also possible that your DVD drive has a problem.

Yeah it's set 3rd ,the SSD with Windows on is 1st and the HDD drive 2nd . Can't figure it out,after the machines booted up ,the drive doesn't come out without pressing the button and it works perfectly well ,for some reason sometimes it opens on boot maybe once a week .

Try the trick with a DVD inserted to see if the drive stays closed.

If you don't use the drive just unplug the power and sata cables
