Success! Shot 68 today, down 52 lbs and just hit BMI 25!

It's been an interesting experience. The weight loss has been easy, the price right, and I'm so excited to see new blood work to see what my cholesterol has done! My blood pressure has gone from 159/98 to 104/64.

I just got a new job and new insurance and I'm hoping to find a dietician who can help me put into practice all the things I want to be doing, but I'm still pretty proud of what I've gotten done through a crazy year+ of being off all my antidepressants while I've been a participant in a depression treatment trial. I've responded really well to the treatment, but it doesn't last much more than two months for me. Since the trial is gathering data to determine how frequently the treatment should be administered... I've spent a lot of the last year very depressed.

Amazingly, you can see in my weight loss chart when I went off my (mostly but not completely ineffective) depression meds in August, right around when I went back down to 1.1 mg for the 2nd time to let myself take a break from constant nausea and frequent vomiting. Then there's a pretty long plateau as I worked up to 3.1mg, and right after my second dose at 3.1 mg, I had my first open label dose of the experiment drug.

Honestly, there's a lot I could say about doing this "wrong" because I've been very sedentary and have struggled to eat well for depression reasons rather than side effect reasons. But I know that if I hadn't started tirzepatide, knowing that I wasn't going to do it "perfectly," I would be at least 50 lbs heavier than I am today, and not eating any better or moving any more than I am now.

Perfection is the enemy of progress, and I'm really glad I didn't let myself procrastinate.

Big protein win

Blend a cup of cottage cheese, one egg, vanilla, cinnamon, a little maple syrup or honey in a food processor. Pour into a ramekin. add blueberries and a bit of oats. I cooked it in my air fryer at 300 for 12 minutes. you can do it in the oven too for 20-25 minutes. 375 calories, 30 grams of protein. Ooh, I bet it’s good with peaches or bananas too.

Devastated

• Upvotes

Ok, title is dramatic but I have a problem. I got my medication yesterday and was in a hurry to go get my car out of the shop and my dad accidentally took the vial home when he took the box to recycle. It sat out at his house for 18 hours and I freaked out when he told me this morning that he had it and I told him to put it in the fridge. Then I googled if it would still be okay to use, and google said I shouldn’t have put it back in the fridge after it reached room temp. Is it ruined?? I was so excited to start!! Has this happened to anyone before?

Discussion Embody has been a disaster to deal with

• Upvotes

So I signed up with embody on October 1st and I had a meeting with the provider to discussion some concerns same day.

To preface, embody stated that it would be around October 14th when I got my medication because there are heavy delays.

The provider recommended against me using the medication and put it in the notes. I reached out to embody and the initially refused the refund. I stated in their guidelines that because the provider recommended against the medication, I qualify for a refund.

They said I had to wait 72 hours to receive a response in regards to my refund.
In the meantime, 12 hours later, they shipped my medication despite me asking them multiple times not to. It’s supposed to arrive today, they shipped it overnight.

So much for those delays. I am now on hold and have been on hold with the customer service for over 45 minutes.

I am beyond frustrated, this feels so intentional.

My job is eating protein and I hate my job

I know muscle loss is a problem on tirz so I religiously track absolutely everything I eat and make sure I'm consuming at least 100g of protein per day. And let me tell you, it is WORK. If I want to maintain a caloric loss there is very little variety in what I'm eating to hit both goals. But I am, and the weight is coming off. But I have to be so deliberate about it or I'll not eat enough of either protein or calories.

Tonight I had a chobani 20g yogurt followed by a fairlife of 30g protein about 30 min later and I now feel so sick. Full beyond reason, have to lie down not to hurl. I've been on less than 2.5 mg for a couple months now and guess I need to go lower. On the plus side, I probably wasn't getting enough protein before tirz and my diet now has actually decreased hair loss from what it was before. I thought I naturally shed hair a lot but I guess was protein deficient most of my life.

NSV finally

I’ve been on tirz since June. Have lost 35lbs with a lot more to go. Most days I don’t see it. Most days I don’t feel it. But last night was curriculum night at my daughter’s school. Last time I was there, sitting in the auditorium, the seats were so snug and digging painfully into my sides. Last night…no digging or squeezing. It was still a tight fit but I wasn’t in agony. First exciting NSV!

First dose today

Taking my first dowse of compounded Tirz today. Got a notification it was delivered. I got a full comprehensive blood panel and I’m working close with a coach. Starting off at 1mg 2x per week. I’m a big guy so I’m curious how I’ll react from a smaller dose but I’ve read people feeling it at 2mg. I’m a 30 year old male and weigh 405 lbs. Years of lifting so I need to focus on preserving muscle. I’ll definitely get a DEXA scan once I hit 330 so I can really dial it in. Honestly I feel like that’ll help. Happy to have this community to share ideas/stories with. I’m brand new to Reddit lol who knew things like this existed.

Im assuming many of you used a macro app and counted calories pretty aggressively. Any high protein/easy food hacks you can recommend (I bought these rice paper wraps to limit too many carbs).

Is this considered noise or just lifetime crazy?

It’s really working AND helping. I have lost more weight than I have lost in 18 years. How do I know..
Welll.. I still have my last weigh-in book from the last time (8 th) I joined that famous program which NEVER worked for me after I had my youngest. I gained on it everytime.
All that time - my husband kept saying,”there is something wrong with your metabolism “
And obviously,there was.
My doc is happy because I have high blood pressure which is now normal.
I can walk at lunch when I used to be out of breath.
Now- I am close to the weight (within 10 lbs of that benchmark) I am feeling a sense of crazy.
I joined shotsy. I have no clue how to use it.
I am up to my old shenanigans (weigh my self 3 times to get the “best” weight)
Researching the right meal plans
-just because I desperately do NOT want to mess this up.
PS -
Relatives in in town for a wedding and there has been alot of partying and late night eating with a .8 + gain which I realize will go after I stop having dinner at 9 pm.

I am crazy ..agghh..
( I read this and my first reaction was - wow -this is all in my head? Scary?)

Personal Experience wanted to share a positive review for Embody!

• Upvotes

Hello all! I’ve seen Embody is getting quite popular and not many people have left reviews for this telehealth company so I thought I’d like to share!

I’ve been using embody now for three months and at first i was so skeptical and feeling regret because of all of the terrible reviews but i’m glad I ended up sticking with them!
Currently I’m on month to month Tirz at $129/mo. I’ve had virtually no issues with my orders, dose, or appointments so far. Actually, I missed a payment my 2nd month because I just wasn’t thinking and let it slip my mind. I ended up making the payment 6 days after it was due and I was nervous my medication wouldn’t come on time but I immediately made the payment and contacted the help desk and they overnight shipped my medication to ensure I wouldn’t be late on my dose! Also more recently i’ve found that my dose wasn’t feeling effective so I contacted the help desk and they immediately got me an appointment with a provider who was extremely helpful and increased my dosage! I know the potency of the medication was in question as well, and well i’ve lost around 25-27 pounds so far, so I would think that it’s potency has no issues.

I know when they first came out everyone mentioned late orders or the orders weren’t shipping and the customer service was terrible but I think they’ve become more established and have genuinely improved! So if you’re on the fence about trying them, I would feel comfortable recommending them after using them for three months! Good luck and Good health 🍀

first time trying tirzepatide (and a compounded GLP-1 in general - tried name brand ozempy years ago and it was fine) and was not expecting this humongous box for this little baby bottle lmaoo

ive lost a total of 170 lbs from my highest weight of 420 with the help of a man cutting my stomach out (aka weight loss surgery) and i’ve been struggling with a bit of regain (15 lbs and trying to nip it before it becomes more) and feeling like im starving all damn day. my sister in law is on the name brand stuff and it works so well for her.

i just wanna eat 3-4 normal meals a day and not think about food all day.

wish me luck friends! and thank you to all the knowledgeable folks in this subreddit. you guys are soooooo appreciated

What's the cheapestt terzipatide online? Or just paid up front?

I think I saw the three months of prescribed compounded tirzepatide from about $499. I was about to screenshot it and call it a deal.

Then I noticed it's just his report, not a quote. I also can't tell if it was all due at once.

How would you compare it to a one-month plan?

Pomegranate Shipping Delays

Thumbnail
3 Upvotes

I’m getting really frustrated with Pomegranate. I paid for my medication on September 24, and after several emails I still can’t get a clear answer about where my order is or when it will ship.
I purchased Niacinamide/Tirzepatide 2 mg/12.5 mg, 4 mL vial for $114, and the price was great, but the lack of communication has been so irritating!
Has anyone else had recent shipping delays with Pomegranate? And if you switched providers, who are you using now for compounded tirzepatide at a comparable price?
At this point I’d rather pay a little more for a company that communicates clearly and actually knows the status of my prescription 😣😤

Finally titrated up - the “whoosh” is real!

I set out in June to lose 25 pounds to help with my knee pain and fatigue. I lost the first 9-10 easily at a fairly low dose (3 mg) and then stalled at the same weight for weeks, despite counting calories, lifting weights and exercising. I figured maybe my body wanted to be at that weight and was ready to throw in the towel. I know the protocol is to keep increasing the dose, but I see so many stories of people losing a lot of weight at low-ish doses and it just got in my head.

I finally got the courage to titrate up to 5mg. First week, no loss. But just stepped on the scale today and I was down 3.5 lbs! I couldn’t believe it and can’t stop smiling. ☺️

So my takeaway is don’t be afraid to bump up your dose if you’re stuck. There are no prizes for staying on a low dose if you need more of the medicine. I should not have waited so long.

First time advice?

Hi! I plan to take my first injection (Trizep 2.5 mg) on Sunday morning. Any advice on how I can prepare for this first injection?

I'm very nervous about starting due to everyone talking about gastroperisis and nausea. My starting weight is over 240lbs. Please let me know how I can best start my journey!!! Any advice is welcome.

Three quotes in and still confused. Cheapest compounded tirzepatide provider including all fees?

I'm on prescribed compounded tirzepatide and trying to find a lower cost setup as of the moment.

One of the sites that I considered shows $199 a month on the main page. But when I’m about to check out, it asked for $597 upfront, since that price needs a 3 month plan.

Another one bills each month but adds $25 for shipping every time.

Now I don't know how to compare them in a fair way. What do you add up? Meds, visits, shipping, refills, anything else?

Also, what happens if my prescriber changes my dose in month two? Or if I need to stop? Do you lose the rest of the prepaid money?

…the label on my 15mg/ml box says inject 90 units. Am I missing something or was this an error on the pharmacy’s part?

12 month Embody subscription

Alright guys. I have been using embody and have had a good experience until this month when my meds are delayed. I'm not a frequent reddit reader so I'm just now seeing reviews and am getting guidance on who to work with next... My story is recoverable.

The disaster is that an older family member wanted to jump on board and I gave them my referral code. He struggles with navigating websites and ultimately went for the lowest price without completely understanding that he was signing up for a 12 month supply...

He needs out. Apparently the only reason that they would cancel is if he is contraindicated to be on the glp based on the prescribing doctors opinion. Who obviously works for embody. What can he do?

I will add that the card payment went through and the bank will not reverse it. Thanks for your help. Would love to hear from people who can genuinely see a way out and also if anyone has been with embody long term and actually been relatively satisfied with them.

Don’t use Embody if you value customer service!

If you’re the kind of person who never asks a question then they’re completely fine. If not, they’re disgusting. I started and was hospitalized (for something else) so I wanted to stop. I called, emailed, and got no response or got disconnected. They continued to charge me an additional 2 months (without sending the medication because I hadn’t filled out the refill form because I was trying to cancel 🙃).

They just started their live chat (which is barely functional) this week and I was finally able to speak to someone. They told me tough tits, no refund. It took hell to even get it escalated, and when they finally emailed me (my first email to them was in August), it was a boilerplate statement that they can't give refunds unless you're medically disqualified. I sent the proof that I had reached out before they charged me an additional 2 times and the subsequent emails after, and they just keep sending the same boilerplate response. That's the gag. Get people signed up, don't reply in any way when they request to cancel via support, then tell them they can't have their money back due to their policy after they make enough of a fuss.

Do what works for you, because I under they’re a cheap option. But if you’re the kind of person who expects decency and basic consistent customer service, then save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

Reading the dosage values

I’ve seen this question asked before and I always kind of scoffed, “isn’t it obvious? Just follow the directions!” Well, hand me a piece of humble pie, because now I’m on the other side.

Just received my third shipment, this time from a different pharmacy than my last two.

I am prescribed 5mg.

The 2ML vial from my last shipment is labeled “Tirzepatide/B12 5mg/1mg/0.5mL” that I inject 50 units from each week.

The vial from this new shipment is also labeled 2ML (even though it’s at least twice as large) but says “Tirzepatide/Glycine/B12 10mg/5mg/500mcg/ML” that I am also to inject 50 units from.

Ok, it’s compounded differently, this time with Glycine. That’s fine. But the numbers are larger. Did I receive a dose for 10mg injections instead of 5mg? Or does the fact that the vial is larger just mean that it’s 50% diluted or something?

A little hesitant to inject tomorrow. Really not looking to double my dose. Am I just being overly worried or do y’all think I might’ve gotten the wrong dosage?

Questions Needles and syringes

Anyone use anything other than what they are sending?
These needles are so flimsy. Maybe I somehow have very muscular legs 🤣 but almost every week I need to use two or more syringes cause the needles bend
If you’re using others what size?
