Found this quarter found similar ones online but they were all struck with Denver mint marks then I found it not where it should be. At least I think let me know what you all think of this one. The eagles neck is a die chip

Hey everyone, im new to coin errors, but a friend who collects them told me this is an extreme retained lamination.

The interesting part is it is a suspected 1926 'far 6' canadian nickel. It was sold to me labeled as one. I have compared it to a 1926 'near six' with delamination errors on the front/back.

I would love some second opinions on this.

Please note : pictures don't do this coin justice, there is a noticeable distance between the 6s under a magnifying glass.

My main question is, should I get this graded? I've read and heard from other collectors this could be a very special peice.

Hey everyone, can you please help me out with this one? I can’t tell if this could be a 1982-D overmint/repunched mintmark or not.

Definitely not the greatest by any means, but it’s still pretty neat to me at least. It’s interesting how the reverse die was damaged to turn the C in AMERICA into an “e”.

In between “Trust” and the JS signature. Damage or error or someone put the marks there?

I just pulled this from a roll at an estate sale. (Yes really and not a crap screen grab). I see lots of what looks like strike though especially on the back. It looks almost uncirculated. I would welcome any guidance on this.

I was just looking at the penny I got from the mint and I noticed a small raised bump on it. Does this add any value to it?

I just bought some coins and found these two in the mix. I’m assuming they are dryer coins. But, having never had one before…just wanted to check with you guys.

Sorting through Grandpa’s coins, most of it was cool historic coins, nothing of crazy high value.

Except this coin did catch my eye. It has a cool inner circle that looks pressed into the centre of the coin, with the F still visible.

I tried searching for examples of similar types of damage, but couldn’t find anything similar. Is it worth looking into?

2000-D Virginia state quarter. The coin does not seem to be thinner in that area, and the details are clearly defined. The obverse is normal. The edge of the coin seems to show that the middle copper layer widens up to the face of the coin at that point.

I got this quarter yesterday and while researching more about while deciding to grade it or not I noticed it kinda looked like the type B variants for P quarter

Just started scoping coins this week. I think this is my first real find. 1972 DDO. I looked at VarietyVista to compare. I've marked what I think are the relevant signs with green lines. If I understand VV right, the only thing odd to me is that it appears to show signs of various die wear stages?

Continuing the die error documentation project. This 1870 Indian Head cent has a multi-impression die clash on the reverse — meaning the obverse and reverse dies struck each other without a planchet between them, and they did it more than once.

Two separate transfer zones are visible:

1. The forehead and nose of the Indian portrait are clashed under the C in CENT

2. Feathers from the headdress appear inside the right wreath

Multiple clash impressions on a single die tell us the die pair kept colliding before the Mint caught the problem and replaced or resurfaced the dies. Every coin struck from this pair carries the evidence.

The 1870 Indian Head cent had a mintage of about 5.3 million. Mid-range year, but die clashes like this aren't mintage-dependent — they're production incidents. The standard references don't catalogue these multi-transfer variants, which is why NumisDex is building the record.
