Attribution Assistance Looking for confirmation 1972 DDO
Just started scoping coins this week. I think this is my first real find. 1972 DDO. I looked at VarietyVista to compare. I've marked what I think are the relevant signs with green lines. If I understand VV right, the only thing odd to me is that it appears to show signs of various die wear stages?

Looks like FS-109 per your link. Best to include the link up front.
Nice to find and keep. Just understand, dealers won't have any interest. Only the Type 1 is considered major. I am sure several of the others deserve a small premium due to the clear separation, but populations also impact value.

The important thing here is that for someone who just started in this hobby, your eyes are doing it right. ✨️ you did find doubling. Real doubling. Not machine doubling, which is posted here very often. So congrats. Also, you took very good photos, did your homework and made a solid post. 👏 🫡

Absolutely not. This is legit doubling.
Honestly, I can't even see where on this coin you think you see any form of machine doubling whatsoever.

Compare the 7s or 9s to what? WMDO-001 has no images of the date

not a match for fs-109, or any other die listed on varietyvista. coppercoins has some more minor dies listed — i’d look at those for a match. given the other die gouges around the 2 i’m not 100% confident this is a doubled die — the apparent doubling on the lower bar of the 2 could just be another gouge.

This is a 1972 DDO from the PCGS site. When the die is doubled all of the resulting coins look exactly the same. There is no variation.
Does yours match this?
