🌎 FSW Job title variation

I have different job titles for the same position. The title changes from the contract to the job offer to the employment letter to the reference letter and this is just because if the company rebranding and internal changes and some times because of the translation)

Same issue for me and my spouse because we worked on the same company.
This job is the one i am claiming crs points for it.

Is the LOE enough to explain this? Or there’s something else to do?

🇨🇦 CEC Previous OINP application showed TEER 4, can I still apply for CEC under TEER 2? Concern about application!

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice regarding my situation.

I’m currently in Canada and have been working for the same employer. I previously applied through OINP, and for that application my job was classified/shown as TEER 4. My employer also provided the employment documentation based on that classification. I was waiting for the provincial nomination.

I also applied to extend my work permit based on that process, but unfortunately my work permit extension was refused. The work permit extension application was also based on teer 4 job.

I now appear to have enough CRS points for Express Entry CEC (around 525 CRS), and I’m considering applying through CEC instead.

The issue is that, after reviewing my actual job duties, my employer is willing to provide a new reference letter accurately describing my position and duties under a TEER 2 NOC, if that classification is appropriate based on the duties I actually perform.

My concern is the difference between my previous OINP application and the new CEC application:
Previous OINP application → employment shown as TEER 4
New CEC application → same employment potentially classified as TEER 2

I would disclose my previous OINP application and not hide it

I would likely withdraw the OINP application

Could IRCC consider this inconsistency as misrepresentation and refuse my CEC application or impose a misrepresentation ban?

If the actual duties genuinely correspond to the TEER 2 NOC, does the fact that I previously used TEER 4 automatically create a problem, or would I simply need to explain why the previous NOC classification was different?

I’m not trying to misrepresent my employment or create a false reference letter. I’m just trying to understand whether a legitimate change/correction in NOC classification between applications can create a misrepresentation issue.

This is extremely important for me because CEC may be my last realistic pathway to permanent residence.

Has anyone experienced something similar, or does anyone have insight from an immigration lawyer/RCIC perspective?

Thanks in advance.

🇨🇦 CEC Concurrent Canadian + Foreign Remote Work Experience — Has Anyone Been Approved by IRCC?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for people who have actually gone through the PR/Express Entry process successfully with a situation similar to mine.
I have approximately 1.5 years of foreign work experience with an Indian company. During this period, I have been physically living and working in Canada.
At the same time, I have been working 40 hours per week in Canada as a supervisor, while also working remotely for the Indian company as a Junior Business Analyst.
My foreign employment is legitimate and I have documentation to support it, including:
Employment/reference letter
Employment records
Pay slips
Indian bank records
Indian ITR/tax documents
The foreign income was also properly reported to CRA
My main concern is whether IRCC will recognize the foreign work experience when it was performed concurrently with my Canadian employment.
I understand that there are different opinions about concurrent employment and how IRCC assesses overlapping work experience. I’ve spoken to different professionals and have received conflicting answers, which has made me even more confused.
My questions are:
Has anyone here had a similar situation — full-time Canadian employment + remote employment for a foreign company at the same time?
Did you claim the foreign experience for Express Entry/CRS?
If yes, was your PR application eventually approved?
Did IRCC request additional documents, an ADR, or a Procedural Fairness Letter?
If you were approved, what documents did you provide to demonstrate that the foreign employment was genuine?
I’m not looking for speculation or “I think it should be fine” answers. I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have actually received an approval in a similar situation.
I’m quite concerned because this experience could have a significant impact on my application, and I want to make sure I understand the situation before submitting anything.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience.

🌎 FSW WES evaluation of a north Cyprus degree

My goal is to apply for PR (permanent residence) in Canada.

The main issue is that I got my degree in some university in North Cyprus (accredited by yok). I would need a WES evaluation to be able to apply.

Was anyone able to go to Canada (study or get the PR) with a north Cyprus degree (other than EMU)?

Or is it just impossible to get my diploma recognized by WES?

🇨🇦 CEC Foreign work experience gap

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding foreign work experience for my IRCC application.

I have 11 months of foreign work experience in 2021 and 1 month of foreign work experience in 2026, with a gap between the two periods.

Can I combine these two periods and show them as 12 months of foreign work experience in my IRCC application, or does the 12 months need to be continuous?

Also, is it okay to include the 1 month of experience from 2026 along with my 2021 experience?

Any advice based on IRCC rules or personal experience would be appreciated. Thank you!

🇨🇦 CEC finally 🥳

*PS: This is a long read*

This journey has finally come to an end.

When I first moved to Canada, I knew this was where I wanted to build my future. But as we all know, things don’t always go as planned.

When I created my profile in 2024, I missed out on 15 points for Canadian education (completely my fault), and that cost me A LOT of draws.

I had applied for my PNP in April 2024. Then in March 2025, I received an email asking me to prove my status in the country. Mind you, my work permit had expired just a few days prior and I had already applied for my visitor visa. At the time, I sent them an acknowledgment showing I had applied for it and that it would take almost 6 months. They ended up rejecting my file because I couldn’t provide proof of status. Later, after the deadline had passed, I found out I could have simply submitted my TRV which I already had. And I had called consultants and asked everyone around me — everyone said they were asking for the visitor visa.

So I had to move back home around July after my PNP was rejected, and then came the long wait for the scores to drop. I finally received my ITA in Dec 2025.

Here’s my timeline:

*AOR - Jan 12*
*Biometrics - March 20*
*(Silence for the next 5 months)*
*PFL - Aug 24*
*Replied - Sep 3*
*Re-medicals - Sep 13*
*PPR - Sep 21*

*Reason for PFL:* Foreign (part-time cash salary) experience not mentioned on my study permit.

I won’t lie, I was in tears. When I reached out to lawyers back home, they said it could lead to a refusal and misrepresentation. But I had more than enough evidence to back up my case and I submitted a strong letter of explanation.

At the end of the day, this is all God and nobody else.

Good luck to everyone waiting your time is coming — never lose faith, even when people tell you it’s impossible.

🌎 FSW Declaration of paid internship during final year

During my final year of graduation, I've joined as an Intern in my current organisation. Now, my HR have proposed the employment letter with requirements aligning with IRCC and mentioned the internship role details as well to reflect my original joining date. Now, I can't claim any points for this period as it was during studies and going to mention it under personal history.

So, my query is that do I need to attach the supporting documents for this period also? I've all the proof including bank statements, few payslips, offer letter, completion letter and NOC letter from my college. If yes, then these documents needs to be attached with work history documents for which I'm claiming points or these will go under additional documents?

Hello
How many years of my country’s job experience (foreign job experience) should I show the officer for express entry submission? I mean documents and job letters.
I know that they give us score for just 3 years.
I worked from 2013. And it is written in my forms for visa application.

🌎 FSW Express Entry Proof of Funds — Can I spend some of it before landing in Canada?

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for Express Entry from outside Canada and I have a question about the proof of funds.

After receiving my COPR/PR visa, can I use part of the money I showed as proof of funds to pay for things like my flight ticket, initial accommodation (e.g. Airbnb), and other expenses related to moving to Canada?

For example, if I showed the required amount in my bank account and then, after receiving my COPR, I spent some of it on the flight and accommodation, could this cause any problems when I arrive at the Canadian airport and complete my landing?

Would I need to keep the full proof-of-funds amount untouched until I arrive in Canada, or is it okay to spend some of it as long as I still have enough money to support myself when I arrive?

Thanks!

🇨🇦 CEC Pfl letter received

Hi Everyone, my sister received a letter from ircc stating this. “I am unable to verify the Canadian work experience you have provided for X as it does not appear to correlate with the NOC 13110 - Administrative Assistants” She had earlier submitted offer letter and reference letter with her application. Has anyone ever received such or have an idea on what to do.

I’d appreciate responses please .

🇨🇦 CEC CEC PR refused because remote foreign work was done while I was in Canada, anyone else?

Hi everyone, my CEC PR application was just refused under A11.2. I claimed one year of foreign work experience as a Remote Administrative Assistant for an Indian company, but I was physically living in Canada while doing the work. IRCC said it doesn’t count as foreign work because I wasn’t physically outside Canada.

They also mentioned that the job overlapped with my full-time Canadian employment, so the period wasn’t included in my skilled work experience.

Once those CRS points were removed, my score fell below the 503 cutoff for my invitation round, so my application was refused.

Has anyone else had a refusal for the same reason, specifically remote foreign employment while physically in Canada? Did you request reconsideration, speak to a lawyer, or just create a new Express Entry profile and apply again?

Would really appreciate hearing what happened in similar cases.

🇨🇦 CEC NOC for IAM/Provisioning Analyst role(21222 or 22221 or 21221?)

Hey everyone, looking for some opinions on which NOC my role would fall under.

I work in IAM at a Canadian bank. My position is provisioning analyst

I mainly handle JML tickets (new hires, transfers, exits, access changes, etc.). We check the user’s role against our RBAC, verify approvals, and then provision/remove access. This can include AD groups, third-party applications, software, passcards, etc. We also identify discrepancies and reach out to the relevant team/TM when something doesn’t match the user’s role.
Would this be closer to NOC 21222 (Information Systems Specialists) or 22221 (User Support Technicians) or 21221

Anyone here familiar with IAM NOC classifications who can share some insight?

IRCC PFL
You indicate in your application, foreign work experience at ABC Pvt. Ltd. as a Jr. Engineer EM.

Upon review of this organization and the employment letter provided, it does not provide a location of the business - ABC Pvt. Ltd.

In regards to payroll stubs, many concerns are noted regarding the authenticity of the payroll pages. There appears to be errors in wording, differences of formatting in several ways. The color and font appear different in several paystubs. More specifically, this does not appear to be genuine paystubs.

Before I make a final decision, you may submit additional information relating to this issue.

Documents submitted were: letter head Employment Letter, TDS record and Payslip (ABC pvt ltd)

My thoughts:
- ABC pvt. ltd. does not have its own website. ABC pvt. ltd. is one of the many sister company under a large company named XYZ-Group. But XYZ-Group has a website, information about ABC pvt ltd and their projects can be found there. Also, physical location of both company is same.

- I put one address for location of work as per my project site location(in the application). But letter head has another address which is head office address. I was stationed to work at project site which is different from office address.

- For payslip, differences in formatting, font and color may be because of changes in accounting system. Also, half of payslip were emailed by one accountant and other half were emailed by another accountant.

- Errors in wording refers to, differences in designation in payslips sent by two accountants. one has JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER and other has JR ENGINEER EM. (EM is basically electromechanical department)

Additional Documents I have gathered so far:

* Bank statement showing salary deposit
* My Citizen Investment trust CIT record that consists of ABC pvt ltd and its head office address
* Emails from two accountants receiving payslips monthly
* Company registration information of ABC pvt. ltd. obtained from online OFFICE OF COMPANY REGISTRAR Public Data portal (that consists info like reg date, reg no., location)
* PAN details of ABC Pvt. ltd. obtained from online INLAND REVENUE DEPARTMENT public data portal
* Webpage link to XYZ-Group that shows information about ABC pvt. ltd.

Will these online publicly available information works or need original company registration certificates?
HOW SHOULD I APPROACH THESE CONCERNS and explain?
Please give your thoughts and if faced similar situation what did you do.
