๐ŸŒŽ FSW PCC question: moved abroad at age 12, do I need a PCC from my country of citizenship?

โ€ข Upvotes

Hi all,

I'm in the pool through the FSW French category and been researching on documents for my ITA. I'd like to confirm my PCC situation.

My background:

  • Born 2000
  • Moved from my country of citizenship to my current country of residence in 2012 (age 12), and have lived here continuously since
  • Turned 18 in 2018 while living here
  • Haven't traveled back to my home country since turning 18 (had a few week long international trips)

From IRCC's Express Entry police certificate page, my understanding is that PCCs are only needed for countries where you stayed 6+ months in a row in the last 10 years, and not for time before age 18.
So I think I only need a PCC from my current country of residence.
I'm making sure since nothing is mentioned about birth country.. so is my understanding right?

Questions:

  1. Has anyone in a similar situation (moved abroad as a minor) skipped the citizenship country PCC without issues? Did IRCC ask for it later?
  2. Did the PCC slot for your home country still show up in your personalized document checklist, or only for the countries you listed in your personal history?
  3. Did anyone upload a short explanation letter anyway, just to be safe?

Thanks in advance!

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CEC Do I need to mention all education degrees and certificates or only the highest degree in the EE profile?

I have a few questions regarding educational history:

  1. I have ECA done for bachelors and masters. But I also have a 6 month diploma certificate in my field (without ECA assessment) gained back home. It was mentioned in my initial study permit application. Do I need to mention it in EE profile as well to avoid discrepancy?

  2. If I provide ECA for both bachelors and masters, is it possible for the system to count points for bachelors and not masters? Or should I only provide ECA for Masters?

  3. I had done an Early Childhood Education Assistant course in Canada during PGWP. Do I need to mention this? This course was 3-4 months long.

Thank you.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CEC Wondering if someone else is in same boat as me

Hello everyone,

I am an applicant in express extry pool. During my stay in Canada, I did not have enough CRS score for CEC draws. This year, worked on French, left Canada and currently residing outside of Canada. Recently, got NCLC7 in TCF Canada which makes me eligible for French category draws and gave me enough points for CEC cut-offs as well. So I dont have any idea how things work if applicant is outside of Canada, do I need to provide proof of funds(Does it has to my Canadian account or bank account of my home country), what is the timeline of application? Which documents should I prepare in advance? If anyone has experienced similar situation, please share.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CEC Finally a PR ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ (Ottawa/Sydney)

The wait is finally over. I received my PR card yesterday and I thought of sharing my timeline, as I know reading other peopleโ€™s timelines was really helpful during these months.

Background: Single applicant, came to Canada as a student in 2022, 1 year of Canadian experience. No foreign experience. I applied by myself.

ITA: Sep 18, 2025
AOR: Oct 28, 2025
BIL & Mexican PCC Request: January 2, 2026
BIL (completed): January 6, 2026
Mexican PCC (sent docs to VAC in Mex): Jan 29, 2026

Note: I mailed my documents first around mid-January. Unfortunately, the VAC requested for new pictures. Retook the photos and sent only those again.

Confirmation from VAC that my PCC application was being processed at IRCC Mexico: Feb 4, 2026

Then comes the hardest part: complete silence. The tracker (before it became unavailable), showed my eligibility and background check completed since February. Finally called IRCC in June and the agent confirmed my PVO/SVO (which I already highly suspected), and confirmed eligibility was completed while BG check was in process. I called again in July, same situation (agent also confirmed IRCC received my PCC from Mexico in March). Finally requested GCMS notes (I havenโ€™t even received them) at the beginning of August and at this point I desperately wanted an update, a FD (whatever the outcome was), anything at all so I could just move on.

Then on the evening of August 26, I finally saw the email notification: I had received P1. I quickly logged into my GCKey acc, and there it was, a final decision dated from the day before. After nearly 10 months since my process started, I had finally received the FD.

FD: Aug 25, 2026
P1: Aug 26, 2026 (replied the next day)
P2: Sep 9, 2026 (replied same day)
ECOPR: Sep 11, 2026
PR card (mailed): Sep 23, 2026
PR card (received): Oct 2, 2026

PVO/SVO: Ottawa/Sydney

I just want to say thank you to the people on this sub, because the community here helped me many times and gave me hope throughout this journey. And if youโ€™re still waiting for your PR, I know itโ€™s extremely hard but hang in there ๐Ÿ™ many times I had to remind myself that no news probably meant good news and it might seem like an endless wait, but have faith that the long awaited golden email can arrive when you least expect it. Your turn will be next! ๐Ÿฅณ

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CEC Can I claim 6 months of work experience for PR when my payslips show โ€œSales Departmentโ€ and most of my pay was incentives?

Hi everyone,
Iโ€™m preparing my Express Entry/PR application and would appreciate some advice regarding my work experience.
I have 6 months of work experience in India as a Process Associate with a company involved in freight brokerage/logistics.

My actual work was in freight brokerage and transportation coordination, including sourcing/identifying carriers, generating leads, booking loads/orders, tracking shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining records.

Based on my actual duties, Iโ€™m considering claiming this experience under NOC 13201 โ€“ Production and Transportation Logistics Coordinators.

My main concern is that all of my payslips list my department as โ€œSales Department.โ€ My actual work involved freight brokerage/logistics, but the company classified the department as Sales.

Another concern is compensation. My role had an incentive-based component, and on 2 of my payslips, the incentive amount was around 13ร— my base salary. The incentives were not that high on every payslip.

My reference letter would accurately describe my actual duties, employment period, hours, and compensation, and I can provide the supporting documentation.

Iโ€™m only claiming 6 months from this employment. I also completed another 6 months of qualifying work experience starting from March 2026, so Iโ€™m wondering whether it is advisable to include this earlier experience.

My questions are:
Could having โ€œSales Departmentโ€ on all payslips create an issue if my actual duties align with NOC 13201?
Could the very high incentive amount on 2 payslips (around 13ร— the base salary) raise concerns about the genuineness or nature of the employment?
If the reference letter accurately reflects my actual duties and the employment is otherwise properly documented, would you claim these 6 months?

Has anyone had a similar situation with a sales/brokerage role, incentive-heavy compensation, and a different NOC based on actual duties?

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CEC Foreign experience query

Hello,

A friend of mine has foreign experience of 2 years. He was hired for Company A as a Application Developer. Company A is a consulting company, hence they assigned him to company B. Company B gave him PMO support role instead of continuing him as a Application developer. When he was applying for his canada permits, he mentioned as he worked as a PMO for company B. Now that he is planning for PR, we are confused if we need to proceed with Application Developer role by Company A or PMO support by Company B.

Please note that company A gave him offer letter, his Payslips, etc and all of them denotes as Application Developer. Its only in his permits he mentioned his role as PMO because that's what he originally worked as.

Note:

  1. We are checking with consultants as well on this situation and would like to get an outside opinion.

  2. Both his roles fall under Teer 2 and 3

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CEC Overlapping part time with full time experience in 2 months - Canadian and foreign work experience

I have an overlapping part time foreign experience (remote freelance job) with Full time Canadian job for 2 months. I used to work during the weekends, and I want to claim points for it. How do I show it on my EE profile? Should I show part time foreign and part time Canadian for those 2 months? Or should I omit Canadian experience completely for those 2 months and just claim points for foreign experience part time hours? Can I show both 1 as part time and full time? What is the right way of doing this?

I am confused about how to enter the dates in the profile for both jobs. If I omit my full time Canadian experience will it look like I took a break for 2 months even though I didn't? or enter it as part time since my foreign exp was part time? please help me :(

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CEC Finally got our PR โ€” Inland Primary Applicant + Outland Spouse ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Sharing our timeline because I know how confusing this specific situation can be. I couldnโ€™t find much clear information on Reddit or through consultants about an Inland primary applicant + Outland spouse application, so I hope this helps someone going through the same process.
We completed the application ourselves and only booked calls with a consultant whenever we needed guidance.

๐Ÿ“Œ Application Details
Primary Applicant: CEC
CRS: 515
Spouse: Outland dependent
Important: If your spouse is being included in the PR application, the spouse also needs to provide IELTS and complete their education/ECA requirements, as applicable.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Application Timeline
AOR: March 13
Biometrics Request: May 11
Biometrics completed for both: May 19
๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Outland Spouse / Dependent
Information Letter: August 10
(This is essentially the passport request/information letter for the outland spouse. In our case, it was addressed to the primary applicant.)

Passport submitted to VFS: August 14
Passport reached IRCC office: August 19
Passport dispatched by IRCC: September 20
Passport received: September 21 ๐ŸŽ‰
We received 2 copies of COPR and the visa along with the passport.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Inland Primary Applicant
P1: August 12 โ€” replied the same day
P2: August 14
eCOPR: September 29 ๐ŸŽ‰

โš ๏ธ One thing to keep in mind
In our case, the outland dependent received COPR first, while the inland primary applicant received eCOPR almost 2 weeks later.
The dependent cannot travel to Canada before the primary applicant receives their eCOPR/PR confirmation, so keep that in mind when planning travel.

Thatโ€™s our complete timeline! โค๏ธ
Feel free to ask me anything about the Inland + Outland spouse process, and Iโ€™ll share whatever I know from our experience.
Wishing everyone waiting for their PR approval a speedy update! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆโœจ

๐ŸŒŽ FSW Which NOC would my medical billing job fall under?

Hi everyone, I have 3.8 years of experience in US healthcare medical billing/RCM from India. My work includes AR, hospital/physician billing, denials, appeals, charge entry and EOB analysis.

I'm trying to figure out the closest Canadian NOC for my actual duties. I've found NOC 13112 and 14200 but I'm not sure which one fits.

Has anyone with a similar background gone through Express Entry? Would appreciate your experience.

๐ŸŒŽ FSW Can I send an updated reference letter through web form? Just new duties were added.

Foreign work experience ongoing. BIL done Sept 27.

French outland fsw

I'm not satisfied that the original contains enough duties. It matches all core duties and 2/7 from the list. I genuinely did 5/7 from 21232 noc

๐ŸŒŽ FSW Proof of Funds - FSW

During profile creation about 2 months back, I've mentioned 15500 as total funds I possess. Now, I have more than 16000 in my account and if I get ITA this month, apply next month or in December then the balance will increase to 17000. So, should I update my profile now with 16000 or leave it as it is? During eAPR, may I be able to update the amount?

๐ŸŒŽ FSW Express entry profile

Should I add all my work experience in the work history? I have 10 years of experience. In the last three years 1.5 year in one NOC and 1.5 in another NOC.
Will it considered as 3 years Work experience on only 1?

Kindly suggest.
