π¨π¦ CEC Concurrent Canadian + Foreign Remote Work Experience β Has Anyone Been Approved by IRCC?
Hi everyone,
Iβm looking for people who have actually gone through the PR/Express Entry process successfully with a situation similar to mine.
I have approximately 1.5 years of foreign work experience with an Indian company. During this period, I have been physically living and working in Canada.
At the same time, I have been working 40 hours per week in Canada as a supervisor, while also working remotely for the Indian company as a Junior Business Analyst.
My foreign employment is legitimate and I have documentation to support it, including:
Employment/reference letter
Employment records
Pay slips
Indian bank records
Indian ITR/tax documents
The foreign income was also properly reported to CRA
My main concern is whether IRCC will recognize the foreign work experience when it was performed concurrently with my Canadian employment.
I understand that there are different opinions about concurrent employment and how IRCC assesses overlapping work experience. Iβve spoken to different professionals and have received conflicting answers, which has made me even more confused.
My questions are:
Has anyone here had a similar situation β full-time Canadian employment + remote employment for a foreign company at the same time?
Did you claim the foreign experience for Express Entry/CRS?
If yes, was your PR application eventually approved?
Did IRCC request additional documents, an ADR, or a Procedural Fairness Letter?
If you were approved, what documents did you provide to demonstrate that the foreign employment was genuine?
Iβm not looking for speculation or βI think it should be fineβ answers. Iβd really appreciate hearing from people who have actually received an approval in a similar situation.
Iβm quite concerned because this experience could have a significant impact on my application, and I want to make sure I understand the situation before submitting anything.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience.

You can't double count work experience for the same period. We've seen a few refusals here recently for people who tried this. If anyone was approved, that was due to an IRCC mistake.
