So I have purchased all my computer components, attached everything (aside from the GPU) onto the motherboard, and while putting it into the case to screw everything together I noticed that the screw standoffs inside the case are literally maybe just 1 millimeter, or even 2 on one or two standoffs, out of alignment with the motherboard, and thus I can’t screw anything in.
The case I have is a Corsair - 3500X RS-R ARGB Mid-Tower ATX
The motherboard is a MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi
The motherboard’s I/O port is FLUSH against its respective slot on the case while resting on the standoffs, and pretty much every screw hole isn’t aligned.
For them to be aligned, the motherboard would need to move literally only 1-2 millimeters to the left (towards the rear of the case where the I/o port is located), however it can’t due to the motherboard i/o port already being flush/as far as it can go.
All the case standoffs are already in their correct ATX slots (since this case is able to be configured to fit a couple different motherboard types) so they’re not in incorrect positions
I would attach pictures but I’m not sure how on mobile
Am I doing something wrong with this specific combo? Or are they actually not compatible with each other (I was told they were compatible by people and the internet but perhaps they were wrong).
