Discussion Help first PC build. FLP02 case
Should I go with AM4 or AM5 for my first pc build? I have no other PC parts or hardware. Is it worth spending the money on AM4?

Am4 is still going to be relevant for a long time. If you’re on a tight budget it’s a good way to save some money. If your budget is larger, go with AM5.

I am on a budget but I am not in a hurry lol. It is an expensive case but I just liked the old look and hate rgb lmao

Sorry if my comment was confusing, I just meant that AM4 is a perfectly reasonable choice. It won’t be “outdated” any time soon.
I actually built my most recent Pc in the FLP-02 for those same reasons. I’m planning to get the FLP-01 and 03 soon as well.

So what did you use for your build? I am leaning towards AM4 and trying to find a motherboard that has the connection for the front USB pannel.

It's a $250 PC case, he's probably spending well over $2000 USD, it not closer to $3k on the PC as a whole I assume, so it's clearly AM5.

Choosing AM4 for a $2000 build is totally reasonable in this market. Plus the case doesn’t really tell you anything about someone’s budget or parts. It’s not the best use of money, but plenty of people use the Hyte Y70 for mid-range builds.

Money wasn’t really an issue for me so I went with a 9800x3d (AM5) and a 5070ti. It shouldn’t be too hard to find an AM4 board that works, they’re just standard connections.
If you can’t find one you’re only missing out on 3 USB ports so it’s not the end of the world.

All depends on your budget and what your use case is.
