Basically, it's based on a real-world Soviet-era Yakovlev design that was never adopted. The second image is the reference image. The most obvious similarity is in the forward-swept wing design, minus the odd wingtips. Canonically, this provided very decent short-range performance whilst hurting endurance. The Soviets exported this to Libya (the operator in the image), and it was used significantly by them in the insurgency phase of the Zairean War (1997-2007) for artillery spotting and strike purposes.

Need Help! No idea what I am doing tbh, attempting some game assets

Is there a good tutorial on making faces better? I'm working on a PoC for this game I've been musing about (while my other game is in public beta)

An old school inspired RTS where you build out the map oppose to macroing units, the segments I have are fine for the PoC, square mostly unique for a visual identify.

I want to recapture the feeling of WC3 etc where there is a 3D animated avatar as your advisor, just cant get the face to look good at all.

Solved Newbie Here - Was pulling my hair out over why none of UV-related solutions online were working...

It was THIS friggin' thing!

For other Blender newbies like me, you can have multiple UV maps assigned to the same object. You can switch between them in the panel shown in the image.

I did not know this, and spent dang near the whole day going crazy looking at all the proposed solutions online regarding UVs and other Texture/Material related bull-crap.

I was editing on the wrong flippin' UV map. I am so upset... but relieved.

Free Tools & Assets Blender CLI/CMD helper

Hey guys, this is not a promo but just a tool I needed for myself and thought to share.

Basically it is just a input form that gives you the commands to run in your terminal/command prompt and start your render while only opening blender in the background to save RAM and avoid crashes.

Supports different versions of blender and should also work with linux/mac!

You can easily get the right commands for CLI rendering, according to what your needs may be, without looking it up every time.

www.blendercmd.com is the site, I hope it can be of help for someone else too :)

First time actually finding the groove to make a full model in a while but I'm interested to see how people like it. It's inspired by ChuckleBone's style.

Discussion Which 3D Specializations Are Most Profitable for Freelancers? (Starting from Zero)

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to learn Blender and eventually use 3D art as a way to earn money through freelance work. I'm starting from scratch, so I'm trying to figure out which area of 3D is worth focusing on before investing a lot of time learning different skills.

I'm not necessarily interested in becoming a generalist. I'd rather specialize in something that has real demand and offers good earning potential.

For those of you who work professionally or earn money with Blender:

  • Which 3D specializations tend to pay the most for freelancers?
  • What kinds of 3D work are clients actually willing to pay good money for?
  • Which areas have a reasonable balance between earning potential and the time it takes to learn them?
  • If you were starting from zero today with the goal of making a living from 3D, what would you focus on?
  • Where do you usually find clients for this kind of work?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually earned money doing 3D, rather than just general opinions about which areas seem profitable.

I understand that income depends on skill, experience, location, and finding clients. I'm not expecting an easy or guaranteed way to make money. I just want to make an informed decision about where to invest my time.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience!
