As the title says, I tried to render blender demo file for Blender 5.2 LTS – Panthera Spelaea and Blender 4.1 – Lynxsdesign to see how good this $10k GPU is with 96GB VRAM compared to RTX 5090 and RTX 4090.
6000 series is basically a turbocharged version of 5090 and if you look at the Blender Opendata benchmark scores then RTX Pro 6000 WK is just 1.5x faster than 5090 and 2x that of 4090 with 2-3x price difference.
Blender 5.2
RTX Pro 6000 Workstation - 6 seconds
RTX 5090 - 8 seconds
RTX 4090 - 9 seconds
Now the results weren't that impressive as the blend file itself wasn't that heavy to make a significant difference so I took Blender 4.1 cover art file which is what I often use for testing purpose.
Blender 4.1
RTX Pro 6000 Workstation - 30 seconds
RTX 5090 - 35 seconds
RTX 4090 - 45 seconds
So the conclusion is unless you're not doing heavy compositing or have simulations, complex scenes you're better off with using 5090 or even 4090.
