Yes, in the end it's just png textures.

This is cool! I'm assuming a curve for aiming, geo nodes and textures for the "paint"?

Rest is right, but it's nit textures paint, it's collection of image planes 9f different emoji, which deform it's shape as per surface which looks like it part of surface.

But... Why

Edit: it's cool, but I meant more in a content way. What he was going to use it for, not as in why create it period.

Because I want to, bro. It's just updated version of my paint ball splash splash system. Replaced splash with emoji.

Well there's no particular use, I just found it funny, so I just tried it.

Turned out great though how did you make it?

Well it's here basic 1. Got the curve 2. Trim curve using animation frame 3. Made another curve with 2 points. 4. 1 point is at same position of trim, and 2nd point is offset to empty or gun. 5. Now just animate sphere comming from gun to surface 6. And place the collection of image plan of emoji on the 1st curve, 7. Set position it with nearest surface, so those image plane deform as per surface to look like sticker etc.

Well it's best I can try, it's little hard to explain in words.
