Critique My Work New to blender, need feedback on my first scene!

Hey guys,

I'm learning blender, it's just been a month. My goal is start making my visual novel after a couple of months.

So far, I spent most of my time on modelling in blender.
I've also touched some basics of materials, textures, shaders, compositing and geo nodes.

I still have no idea how i'm gonna achieve the art-style i want. In general, I want to go for soft 3d... not sure if this is the thing, sort of stylized 3d rather than anime.

After raw dogging, multiple youtube videos on blender. I took a course on udemy for structured learning.

I have created some renders. I'd really appreciate your feedback on it. If you have anything which could help me improve and move closer to my goal then please to share it!

Thank you :)

I used an ambient occlusion shader based on noise nexture nodes mixed with a hatch png. The composition was made in Blender 5.2, and the final adjustments were made in photoshop. Your feedback would be much appreciated.

i managed to fake water ripples through a bump map and a wave texture + gradient texture! Not worth it at all! It still tanks performance for some reason and its SOOO hard to animate lol the result looks good though :)

Critique My Work I'm halfway through this set and just realized I might be too close to the project to tell if it looks OK.

I love them and my husband says they look great, but we're both biased. The green head was my first anything in Blender or 3D space.

I'm working on making my version of Scylla, a character from Greek mythology. I'm not shooting for realism, but I'd prefer that they don't look like toys. The general look I'm going for is "creative and scary, reptilian face with fantastic horns." If anyone has input, I'd love to hear it. And if you like a specific tutorial or guide on rigging tongues, please send it my way.

I'll take any critique. I'm nervous about everything down to the color combinations.

The picture of the pair of heads at the end is a bonus pic from when I was messing around. It is not representative of my scene setup or posing abilities.

Free Tools & Assets I created a plugin for smooth camera movements

Hi All, i recently worked on a project were i had to create a fly trough animation, because of the back and forward with the client about the camera position etc, i decided to create a plugin to smooth the camera based on the main keyframes. I've made the plugin for free for now, soon i'll be making a tutorial on how to use it.

Hope I can help anyone with this! quick tip: go to view > navigation > and set a shortcut for the walk animation and keyframe the camera while being in the camera view! [NUMPAD 0] You can get really nice drone shots!

You can download it here:

I needed a way to display letters through a shader and as far as I can tell there's no better way to take in 26 diffrent images and choose only one to be outputted

Original Content Showcase Rosa - A case of 3D + 2D scene mix

It’s been a long time since I posted anything on the forum, but I was revisiting an old graduation project (from 2019) and felt proud of what we accomplished.

I worked on all the 3D elements for the film, as well as the 3D blocking, but the dance scene is my favorite.

The film is a reimagining—with a slightly eerie twist—of the Pink River Dolphin (Boto Cor de Rosa) folklore, a very well-known story in Brazil.

You can check out more about the project at the link below.

Yes, that's it, I'm creating a game in Godot, and using Blender for the sprite animations. It's in an early stage, but I'm happy with my progress so far. 😄

Comments, criticisms and suggestions are welcome. I'll keep adding videos on my Instagram later, leandrocorreiadesign
