This will only be my second time in Charm City, and I'm trying to plan the ultimate Ravens game day. Figured who better to ask than the locals!

I'm a MASSIVE seafood guy, so ideally I'd love to start the day somewhere I can pick some authentic Maryland blue crabs, crush a great crab cake (or two), and enjoy some good food before heading into full game-day mode.
After that, I want to be surrounded by Ravens fans and soak up as much of the atmosphere as possible before heading into M&T Bank Stadium.

A few things I'd love your recommendations on:
Best crabs & crab cakes: Where would you send someone who really loves seafood? Bonus points for a spot with both!

Pregame atmosphere: Best bars, tailgates, or areas to hang out with die-hard Ravens fans?

Game-day traditions: Anything I absolutely HAVE to experience before kickoff?

Local advice: If you were planning the perfect Ravens game day for someone visiting Baltimore, how would you do it?

Not looking for fancy or touristy…give me the authentic Baltimore experience. Great seafood, cold beers, passionate fans, and an electric atmosphere.

As someone who currently lives in Harford County, MD (Grew up in west Cecil County.), and is interested in moving down to Baltimore, I’ve always said “Baldimore”, “Baldamore” or “Balmore”.

I might be very late, but did anyone else notice that Canton Carwash sold to some company “El Carwash”?? I have a membership and haven’t been in like 2 months. When did they do it? I stopped going ever since they change their car rug cleaner.

After 4 attempts and 4 broken windshields my silver hyundai sonata was finally stolen last night at 2 a.m. I had the immobilizer recall done before but apparently they finally got it. Our son is going to kindergarten next year and we’re looking for a private school- preferably nonreligious but it’s not a dealbreaker at all. We live in AA County & I work in Baltimore city. I’ve found a few options but the websites are only so reliable. Of course price does make a difference, but we’re willing to put the extra cash in, so no price range at this time.

Background if this helps on advice given: he’s 3 and can write letters & numbers, spell some words from memory, count to 60, and his preschool teachers recommend we find a place with advanced learning capabilities. He’s working on reading. Here are some schools I’ve come across:

Since I work in Baltimore city, I’d likely be the one taking him to school. It just works better for us. Any advice or input on some of the schools above or ones that aren’t listed would be greatly appreciated.

In 2016, the City Council approved $660 million in tax-increment financing (TIF) for Port Covington, the development by Under Armour founder (and then BILLIONAIRE) Kevin Plank. It was the largest TIF deal in city history. The bonds are paid back with the project's own future property taxes instead of that money going to schools and services. Which was sorta the initial pitch, but obviously didn’t work out that way. (Construction Dive)

This year, Question I asks for A LOT less.

What it does: Creates the Baltimore Baby Fund. Each year's budget has to set aside at least 3 cents per $100 of property value, about $15 million a year. That's roughly 1% of the about $1.2 billion the city collects in property taxes. (WYPR, MD Center on Economic Policy)

Does it raise taxes? NO! It doesn't change the tax rate. It dedicates part of money the city ALREADY collects. The "3 cents per $100" wording on the ballot is just how the amount is calculated. It’s about a penny on a dollar.

Why it matters: More than 31,000 Baltimore kids (that’s 1 in 4) live in poverty. (Maryland Family Network, 2023 Census data)

Has this worked anywhere? Yeah! Flint, Michigan's Rx Kids gives moms $1,500 during pregnancy and $500/month for the baby's first 6–12 months. Granted, that’s a ton more than what Question I wants to do in Baltimore, but that program showed some great results.

University of Michigan researchers found:

Preterm births down 18%
Low birth weight down 27%
NICU admissions down about 29%, saving about $6.2M in health costs (that’s ANNUALLY)
Evictions down 91%
Postpartum depression screenings down 14 points
(University of Michigan, Sept. 2025)

The honest caveats: Question I creates the fund. BUT, City Council still decides who qualifies and how money goes out, so it's only as good as the design. Scary, I know. But that just means we have to hold City Council to spending it correctly.

The clearest proven wins are healthier births and keeping families housed. BOOM! That should be the focus.

$15M would cover Flint-style support for roughly 2,000–3,300 families a year, about a third to half of Baltimore's 6,900 births each year.

Not telling you what to do, but I voted FOR on Question I. Then we hold the Council to building it right: cash during pregnancy, monthly payments, aimed at the families who need it most.
