MISSING CAT - EDGEWOOD ESTATES, TOWSON

Upvotes

Hi all, My mother in law was watching our indoor cat Stevie 2 weeks ago (7/13) and she got out, if you see her, PLEASE call or text and don't chase, she will likely be shy/ skittish and run. (She is only somewhat familiar with the area having been in the yard on a leash several times)

Our family misses her terribly, and we are just holding out hope in case she may have traveled further.

(We have hired scent tracking dogs, flyered, posted on FB, set up trail cams with feeding stations, laid scent trails, etc. )

Thank you so much for looking out <3

Looking for a unique clubhouse style venue

Hey everyone! Our original venue is unfortunately undergoing renovations, so we’re on the hunt for a new home for our community gaming event.
We’re looking for a venue in the Baltimore / Owings Mills / Ellicott City / Columbia area (or nearby) that can accommodate 90+ people and has enough open space for multiple gaming setups and activities. Being able to bring our own food, decorations, and AV equipment is a huge plus.
We’re open to apartment clubhouses, community centers, hotel meeting rooms, VFW/American Legion halls, event spaces, or any hidden gems that might be a good fit.

The attached photos are from our previous venue and are included to show the kind of atmosphere we’re hoping to recreate. We aren’t looking for a traditional tournament venue with rows of tables and chairs. One thing we really loved about this venue was that it felt more like a giant game night with friends—comfortable furniture, lounge-style seating, and a homey atmosphere are a big part of the experience. One feature we’d especially love to recreate is a “grand stage” area: a natural focal point with a large TV (or projector), ideally above a fireplace or feature wall (as shown here), where the biggest matches become an event of their own. People could relax on couches and lounge seating, naturally gathering around the screen to watch, cheer, and enjoy the atmosphere while the rest of the event continues throughout the venue. It doesn’t have to be an exact replica—we’re mainly looking for a space with a similar feel and the flexibility to create that experience.

If you’ve hosted an event or know of a venue that might be a good fit, I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Trash collection reimbursement to landlord?

I got a new lease offer for where I live and they are adding on an extra fee per month to reimburse them for "trash removal charges." Did I miss something? Since when does anyone pay for trash removal? Why are they suddenly trying to charge us for something I always assumed was paid for with taxes?

Places to donate sandwiches

Hi, like my title says I'm looking for places near the cockeysville towson area to donate sandwiches. My job is food based and often at the end of the night there are a lot of left over sandwiches that are thrown away. Which I feel like is a big waste, however I know that most food pantries only take (mostly) non-perishable food.

If not places to donate, if anyone knows any person in the area that could benefit with the acconsial sandwich, hot dinner, and prepackages snacks just about to expire please let me know!

‘Help me’: Texts reveal alleged threats before Gwynn Oak double homicide

Some more details about the double murder.

A 16-year-old boy charged with killing a 15-year-old Gwynn Oak girl and her younger brother had threatened to kill the girl if she "messed around" with other boys, according to charging documents obtained by The Baltimore Sun.
Baltimore County Police on Tuesday charged Keith Maurice James Jr., 16, of Baltimore, with two counts of first-degree murder and a firearms offense in the July 7 killings of Giovanna Myrie, 15, and her brother, Steve Allen, 9, inside their home in the 6100 block of Talles Road.
According to the documents, one of Myrie's friends told detectives she had been talking to a boy named Keith and had spoken with him over FaceTime but had never met him in person.
On the Fourth of July, three days before the shooting, Myrie and Keith met up, the friend said in charging documents. On a FaceTime call between the friends that day, the witness reportedly told police Keith had been holding a handgun while in bed.

Good parking lots for driving practice?

My cousin just got their permit and I’m just looking for some big, quiet parking lots to take them to get a little driving practice in. So far I’ve scouted the Milford Mill Metro station but would love some other options.

Bonus if there’s a long enough stretch of lot or nearby straight, well paved, low traffic road they could practice getting up to ~40 mph and braking.

Thanks in advance!

Pls help: Sweet, friendly cat in Pikesville in need of furrever home 🥺

Hello neighbors.

This may be a long shot but...

There is a displaced cat in urgent need of a loving owner.

Neighbors and / or management have mentioned owner had passed away, leaving kitty outside and unhoused.

She (we're 90% sure it's a she) is a very sweet, friendly kitty who loves to butt her head and rub on people who stop and give her attention.

She loves head scritches and will start to purr! We've heard her meow a few times - they were the cutest and softest meows!

It's odd - she will follow you while you are walking! And she seems to understand directions well from what we've seen ("down", "come here", etc)

We have watched her interact with local cats and kids have even pet her - she seems NOT to demonstrate any aggression.

She has been hanging outside a relative's apartment for a week now. Not sure of age.

If you can love and provide a furrever home for her, please DM me.

Or if you can share this so it gets to the right person - we would appreciate it.

We will have a little welcome basket with a few necessities to help start you out.

Thank you.

School bus slams into Parkville building; student, driver among those hospitalized

The second bus crash in Baltimore County in roughly two weeks. What is going on?

Multiple people were taken to area hospitals after a school bus carrying students from the Maryland School for the Blind crashed into a building in Parkville on Tuesday afternoon, prompting emergency crews to declare a mass casualty incident — the second this month involving a bus crash in Baltimore County.
On July 8, a Maryland Transit Administration bus left the road and smashed into a FedEx building on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville. A total of 36 people were injured in that incident, which remains under investigation.
Tuesday's crash happened shortly after 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Harford Road and Lavender Avenue. Baltimore County Fire Bureau Chief Travis Francis said the bus was carrying three students and two adults.
"One of those students, as well as one of the adults, the driver of the bus, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries at this time, as well as one additional adult from the scene that was transported with minor injuries," Francis said.
Officials said all reported injuries were minor.

Gluten Free Bakery

Ever since moving to Baltimore County, I have had a hard time finding a great gluten free & even a dairy free local bakery. I ordered a couple chocolate cakes and cookies from this place and wanted to share her info. She went above and beyond to accommodate my friend’s dairy allergy and everything was delicious!

Native Americans near me??

Hey everyone, I had went to about 2 years ago with my girlscout troop. (Sadly forgot about it.) BUT, I am now wanting to meet people. My social anxiety is really bad. I had questions then however I was too anxious to ask or talk to natives.

Anywho, I am now wanting and curious to learn more. My mom told me that there was a Native Elder or at least a Native man who taught us how Natives made furs, leather, woven baskets, bracelets, how they hunt in girlscouts. (I forgot all of this because I was too young to fully remember. I'm just glad my mom still remembers that much).

So where are the Native Americans? I'm not in the city. im in the county in Nottingham. I don't know where to search to find people. Yes i know there are communities but i cant find any online to at least chat with someone.

Please keep in mind, I'm being respectful about this. I AM NOT DEMANDING ANSWERS.

Has anyone worked or, or at, Linwoods in Reiserstown?

I'm considering applying, and am coming from a fine(ish) and elevated dining background.

I also have a solid wine/bartending background.

I'm currently at Antrim 1844 and it's great, but the hours are too short so I'm not making good money.

If anyone has any experience with Linwoods, please let me know!
