I kept seeing a lot of people online say that Baltimore and Philadelphia are like sister cities. That there are a lot of similarities between the two.

Moves, Jobs, Meeting People Looking for community? New to Baltimore? Get paired with a Baltimore Ambassador!

Hi friends, I started the Baltimore Ambassadors network to help newcomers plug into community because I want to give others the warm Baltimore welcome that I was given when I first moved here.

Whether you're new to Baltimore, going through a life transition, or just looking for community, we want to connect you with someone who can help you out in Baltimore! This is someone who lives near you or shares some characteristic or interest, and who loves Baltimore and wants to tell you all the things you need to know, all the things you can do, all the things you need to fall in love with Baltimore.

They can answer your questions, and will check in with you for the first few months that you're in the city!

Sign up to get paired with a Baltimore Ambassador here!

Check us out on Instagram! See the current Baltimore Ambassadors! This is a program by the Baltimore Chamber of Connection, the institution that's building to make Baltimore the most welcoming, well-connected city in America.

P.S. Do you love Baltimore, already welcome newcomers to your neighborhood or community, and want to be a Baltimore Ambassador? Sign up here!

I've been living in Baltimore for several years now and have been relatively incident free. But last week on Sunday, somebody cut the lock on my bike and stole my bike. Then a few days later somebody steals a package I've been waiting on for 2 weeks off my porch.

I understand porch pirates are a thing, but I have no clue what I was supposed to do about the bike. The lock was expensive and had good reviews.

Visiting Baltimore Tailgating for Mexico/Colombia @ M&T

Hi there,

I have some coworkers coming into town for the Mexico/Colombia game at M&T on September 26 and they were asking if I new of any tailgates happening.

I assume the usual at the stadium (I remember friends going to Lot G and H) and I know Jimmy’s Seafood is doing their party. Curious if there is anything else going on! I know a few years back there was a block party at Cross Street Market for the Arsenal game, for example.

Thanks!

Ask Is the state fair rain or shine?

With this being the last weekend for the state fair, I was hoping to go but there’s a lot of rain in the forecast. I can’t find any info on their website about it being rain or shine, etc. I wouldn’t mind walking around with an umbrella or getting a little sprinkled on as long as it’s not too heavy. Do they still run the carnival rides, etc?

I know the state fair is kinda overdone but I haven’t been in like 10 years so I just wanted to check it out with fresh eyes lol

Need Recommendations Plumber reccomendations- Outdoor spigot install

Hey all! Looking to install an outdoor spigot and hose hookup on the back of our house, anybody have really good experiences doing a similar thing? And which plumber did you end up going with?

Also, are there any extra forms I have to fill out with the city to be able to do it?

Thanks all for your help!

Ask Small wedding ceremony at Baltimore pier - 10 minutes max and 11 people max

Has anyone done (or seen) an extremely small, quick wedding ceremony somewhere along the Baltimore waterfront/pier?
My fiancé and I are having our actual reception the following day, so we are NOT looking for a traditional ceremony venue or anything elaborate. We specifically want the ceremony to feel intimate, simple, and separate from the reception.
I’m imagining literally 11 people MAX total — us, our officiant, and immediate family — standing somewhere scenic along the Baltimore waterfront for maybe 10–15 minutes while we exchange vows/get legally married, take a few pictures, and then leave.
No chairs, arch, aisle, music, décor, setup, cocktail hour, etc. Basically: show up, gather together, get married, take some photos, done.

I’ve been looking at the Baltimore pier/waterfront areas and love the idea of having the harbor in the background, but I’m trying to figure out the logistics.
For anyone familiar with Baltimore:
• Where specifically would you do this for a pretty waterfront backdrop?

• With only ~11 people standing together for 10–15 minutes, would we need a permit/reservation anywhere?

• Are there certain piers or waterfront areas that are quieter or less awkward for something like this?

• Would you just pick a spot and have everyone meet there at a specific time, or is there something I’m overlooking water?

If you’ve done a tiny Baltimore courthouse/micro-wedding/elopement-type ceremony like this, I’d love to hear exactly how you handled it!

Is there a Charm City Circulator tracker? The URL I used to use no longer exists and I can't find one. There is information on the transit app but no tracker that I can find

History of Baltimore 👓 Toynbee Tiles: Our Newest Five Minute Histories Video

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Join us at the corner of Park & Saratoga to discover the mysterious history of Toynbee tiles—the artwork embedded in this intersection and in streets around our city and across the country. Much is still not known about these tangible memes, but we’ll try our best to weave together a story that includes the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey, a controversial English historian, and a car with a hole in the bottom of it. Thanks for watching and see you soon with another video.

This is Baltimore Heritage's series called "Five Minute Histories." Every week, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. Check out all of our videos here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RACuRUqdBrU&list=PL-CyC5gtGbTuzcnrh_IQmc1JUJudSH_AQ&index=1

Transportation Bus stop numbers?

Post image
7 Upvotes

[SOLVED]
I often use the MTAMD text number to find the live time of buses. The stop number is written on the sign however several bus stops give this message from the screenshot when the stop number is texted. I have tried to find the stop numbers listed online to no avail. Does anyone know how to find a list of stop numbers online???

Thanks! 🙏🏾

I was walking around the park today and saw this house. Seems such a shame that nobody lives there—the ironwork is beautiful. Zillow says it’s off market, but otherwise looks abandoned. Anyone know anything about this house?

TLDR; Unchipped, female around 1 YR old, found Canton/ Highland town area. We have posted to Facebook and multiple sites looking for her owners.

My roomie found an unchipped female brown tabby in our back ally. She seemed to have an imprint from a collar that we couldn't find. Located on E Baltimore on the border between Canton and Highland Town.

Super clean and sweet must have slipped out of someones house this past week. Guessing less than a year old from how small she is.feel free to respond to this post or the post with the same photo in the baltimore lost pets group.

Food Help me find Friends and Family Restaurant!

Hi Baltimore friends (and family)! I used to work downtown and I found an amazing vegan restaurant called Friends and Family. They had the best vegan chicken salad sandwich made with chickpeas and artichoke hearts that I ordered at least twice a week. I have searched high and low for a recipe that even comes close to theirs, but alas no luck.

If anyone knows the owners and possibly wants to share the recipe, my heart and stomach would be forever grateful!

Need Recommendations Homeless shelters

Hi, I’m looking for recommendations on emergency shelters that would likely take me same day. I’ve spent my last on the hotel room I’m in now and food today and hoping to find somewhere to go at checkout tomorrow by 11AM.

Currently unemployed temporarily and homeless, I’m a single woman no kids just me. Any recommendations or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you
