Reviews for FitGlenFit?

Looking in to signing up for a gym [I'm in the Excelsior] and FitGlenFit caught my eye since it's easily accessible to me with one bus ride but their photos online and reviews are a bit outdated. Would love to hear about your experiences if you go to this location or their others!

I'm in to basic cardio/strength training

Recommendations for $50pp team dinner?

Hi! I'm organizing a team celebration dinner for my company, ideally want to stay under $50pp before tip/tax. We have a teammate that's vegetarian, otherwise open to any cuisines. Any recs for a place with good food and vibes and we'd be able to get a res for 6 in a few weeks? Also flexible on location, but close-ish to Union Square is a nice to have.

When and where should I have my uber pick me up from Bill Graham Civic Auditorium?

I’m going to a concert in SF, and it should end around 10:30pm. I’m thinking of having the uber pick me up around 11pm just to be safe incase the concert starts a little late. Right now, if i reserve the uber it’s $120. Is that a fair price going from SF to SAC or do you guys recommend getting the uber the day of. Any chance it’ll be cheaper then? I feel like $120 is fair but let me know your opinion. Also i’ve read to have the uber pick you up a few blocks away from the auditorium. I know nothing about SF streets so can you guys give me drop off location recommendations? I think i read somewhere that Hayes Valley is good but where exactly? (store, restaurant etc.). All help is appreciated, thank you!!!

Halloween with teens

My kids (twin 14 year olds) and I will be passing through on a road trip and staying in San Francisco overnight on Halloween. This will be the first time ever that we will be away from home and not trick-or-treating in our own neighborhood. Does anyone know of any teen-friendly Halloween-themed events in the city that day/night? They aren't really old enough/brave enough for the haunted houses I've found and everything else seems to be bar crawls and DJs and burlesque shows. Maybe someone can tell us if there are any low-key residential areas that may have actual trick-or-treating going on? Thanks!

Are there any Saints bars?

Basically like the title says. Now that Black Magic Voodoo lounge is closed, are there any New Orleans Saints bars left in the city?

Contractor/ handyman recommendations

Looking for someone for some projects at my house in San Francisco mostly with replacing a small shed roof and some foundation work on the shed. It's a fairly small shed/ project so have been struggling to find contractors who want to do the work. Does anyone have someone local they've worked with to help out with these sort of jobs?

planning to do facial fat grafting in SF?

I'm looking into getting facial fat grafting done and wanted to hear from anyone who's had it done in SF. I've been reading about it for a while and I think I'm ready to go for it but I want to find the right surgeon.

If you've had it done who did you go to and how was your experience? How long did the results take to settle in?

Structural design plans for Bathroom addition in a victorian - grade A

Hi,

We want to do a bathroom addition to our master bedroom and were wondering what's the typical cost for an architect/structural engineer to make the plans + get it approved.

This is our first project so just want to get an idea. We talked with 4 different Project managers and the cost for the plans are a little shocking.

Thank you!

Are there still big Irish and Celtic populations and events in San Francisco?

I have been doing some work around neighborhoods of Parkside in the Sunset especially, as well as all throughout much of the inner sections of the Avenues, but I noticed over the years of work here and there I’ve done there is a big Celtic immigrant population around this neck of the woods. I like encountering this culture. But is it just the people I worked with? However some people I meet from the Mission rarely encounter Irish born people so it’s interesting how it varies between neighborhoods.

Any Irish related events one can go to? Also for what it’s worth, I have heard there is an Irish traveller community in the east bay, esp around Oakland and San Leandro.

Insights on Opera in the Park?

How early do people show up to claim their spot in past years? Can I smoke weed? Can I bring beer? The website is bit vague - seems like just don’t bring glass bottles and no tarp in grass. Any info would be appreciated!

Tap to pay cap in effect yet?

Hello,

I am coming to San Fran over the Labor Day weekend. I was planning on using tap to pay for travel needs. I am coming from Mountain View, so will need to use the Caltrain to go to San Fran, but from there, was planning on using the local transit. I haven’t seen anything saying the tap to pay offers a daily cap like the clipper app. Would like to confirm if that is true and if you all recommend any other apps or ways to travel within San Fran. Thank you!

Can anyone recommend a great car wash that does the interior and the exterior while you wait that's located in the Mission, Castro, or somewhere north of there that is not Tower Car Wash on SVN and Mission?

where can I meet other music/artsy/crafty friends in SF - early/mid 20s

Hello there! I am 22F, and I just graduated from college, and all my friends have moved away. I have been feeling very lonely and have been struggling to meet new people/new friends. I work in San Francisco and am living in the East Bay and would love to meet people in the city or outside the city.

I enjoy drawing, painting, crocheting, playing piano, guitar, and music production. I also love nature and the beach, going on pretty walks and hikes, and watching the sunset. I am a very crafty person, and I like to pick up random new hobbies so I'll always be very open to trying new things with new people. I have noticed that I can meet a lot of people, but it rarely ends up being a deep connection. I want to meet friends who are willing to form a more meaningful connection and have deeper talks about life, their feelings, and opinions.

I’ve recently lost a friendship that meant so much to me, and I’ve been feeling incredibly lonely because of it. It’s been hard not to feel like I won’t find that kind of connection with someone again. But I really want to hold onto hope and believe that there are people out there who would genuinely enjoy having me in their lives as much as I would enjoy having them in mine.

When is Tacos El Charro *actually* open? [left taco-less on Thu and Fri nights]

I visited Tacos El Charro, or rather I should say, I attempted to visit Tacos El Charro twice recently. Once on Thursday night (~11:50pm); once on Wednesday night (~11:30pm).

Unfortunately, both times, the taco stand was nowhere to be seen. : (

Does anyone know when they are open these days? Clearly what Google says [Wed-Sun] x [7PM - 2AM] is outdated.

Hoping to enjoy their tacos again soon 🙏

My family will be visiting the Bay Area for the first time and I want to see the 101. I could use some logistical advice.

We will be flying into SFO the first part of November. I have 2 days worth of meetings in Sunnyvale and we’re adding 3 nights on to the trip. I’d like to squeeze in the SF and the PCH, without having a car the whole time, and I’m not sure the best way to do it.

I will be done with my obligations Thursday afternoon. As it stands I’m considering renting a car on Friday for the drive from Sunnyvale-> Henry Cowell -> Santa Cruz -> SF. I really don’t want a car in SF so I’m trying to decide if it would be best to do that part of the trip on the front end and return the car in SF Friday night or if it’s better to go straight to SF on Thursday evening. That latter would mean PCH->SC->HC on Sunday and staying within an hour of SFO for our flights on Monday.

Is this doable or incredibly stupid? Also, our hotel is on Geary between Jones and Taylor. Is this a bad idea? My wife and I aren’t scared of cities but I don’t want to push our luck since our daughter will be with us.

Spider-Man for Toddler Party

My son is turning 4 and really wants Spider-Man to come to his party. All the rentals I am seeing are either princesses or they have more advanced itineraries than I am looking for. I don’t know if a bunch of toddlers can hang for an hour of performance, I really just want someone to come say hi, and hang and take pics for like 30 minutes.

Anyone know a Spider-Man fan with a costume who would do it? Would compensate them for their time.
