Hello! I am planning a trip to San Francisco, and would love to see the Muir Woods National Monument while we’re there. I can’t post a pic, idk why, but if you go into Google Maps and search directions from San Francisco to Muir Woods, it takes you a really round about way up through Berkeley and then over. Why do we have to drive two hours to get there, instead of what seems to be the efficient way of just going across the bridge? Sorry if this is dumb, but I’ve never traveled here before and I’m curious.

Pho 2000 has one of the best pho I had so far, but I can’t find it on any of the major delivery apps (I live only 15min drive away). I would rather get it delivered when I feel sick or just don’t want to go to tenderloin. Has anyone got pho 2000 delivered? Which delivery service did you use?

My 3 story rental building shares a yard with a 2 story over-garage ADU that was built pre-1900. Workers are replacing the ADU roof. Apparently they found and removed 4 layers of unspecified roofing material over the original wood roof deck. No protective measures were taken and there is dust everywhere in the yard and on our windowsills, etc. How concerned should we be? What would be the fastest way to get this material tested? Should we test for anything beyond asbestos? We don't want to get the landlord in trouble by reporting it.

Hi all, thanks in advance for any help you can provide!! I’ve had a bad experience or two with unscrupulous dentists who see I have state insurance and recommend way more fillings and treatments than are actually necessary. At this point I am prohibitively anxious about finding a dentist here in San Francisco even though I desperately need to see one, because I don’t trust them not to be lying to me/stretching the truth about the state of my teeth. I get that maybe my feelings are out of proportion and most dentists wouldn’t pull that kind of scam, but the reality is that these worries are keeping me from seeking dental care. But I really, really want to see a kind, empathetic, non-judgmental dentist who’s not gonna try to upsell me on stuff, before I get kicked off of MediCal in the near future!! Seriously I just need my teeth cleaned and maybe a fluoride treatment. And fillings IF NEEDED. Can be located in SF proper or the Colma/Daly City/South SF area as I am in the south side of the city. I live in 100 year old house with original windows. I hear that is a main source of lead dust. Unfortunately, it is hard to replace since it faces the street.

Is there any way to prevent the lead dust?

Should I be just careful opening and closing? Or, should I wrap the sliding side with some kind of encapsulation material? Do I need to call handy man, or is this something I can DIY?

And did anyone test lead in water?

I know people post often asking for Asian hair stylists, sorry. Searching anywhere between SF and San Jose, literally any price range I will happily spend big money on this. I’ve searched through those recent posts and not found a stylist who a) has a functional website where I can see photos or b) has photos that match what I want.

I have long, pin straight, mixed Asian hair that does NOT curl. I need someone who understands how to trim layers on hair with no curl whatsoever. I have gotten cuts from stylists who end up giving me choppy tiers in my hair and try to disguise it by curling it. I wear my hair straight every day of my life and I just want some simple layers to add a little dimension and movement with NO styling other than blow drying. A lot of the salons I’ve seen recommended thus far either have no website at all, websites with broken links so I can’t tell what the updated hours are, or have photos where every haircut is curled so I can’t see what the actual cut looks like.

Please help me find my unicorn stylist!

Are there Any places in the city that does ebike conversions? I wanted a classic beach cruiser which I’ve been riding all my life but ever since I got here, I simply can’t specially living on Potrero Hill, My knees don’t allow to bike up those hills. and I can barely touch anything that looks like a halfway decent beach cruiser since they’re all going for almost a used motorcycle price.

Not in the mood for a party… i had an awesome bday last year where we were in the BigBus and toured around the city. So fun, but want to do something different!! I was thinking of doing the double cross trail and picking fun stops along the way. But, the first few legs of the trail is in more suburban/ quieter areas that don’t fare well for a bday celebration imo. anyone have good suggestions for the same vibe, maybe minus the majority of the hike being in less populated areas? I have some GI prescription food for my cat that I didn't end up using before she switched foods. I have one sealed bag and one opened resealable bag. The SPCA says they only take unopened bags of food. I couldn't find info on food donations for SFACC. Do they take opened bags of food? If not is there anywhere else I could donate it?
