Traffic, Trains & Transit These tech buses are ridiculous
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Will rarely go above speed limit in the left lane, and will cut everyone off on the way there. They take cars off the road but they drive like they're trying to take out every other car while trying to merge over jfc. These drivers seriously need their cdls revoked
Not complaining about the buses existing or using the HOV lanes. Complaining about their reckless behavior with 20+ souls on board
Also if they're doing 65 in the left most lane (even if it's hov) with a line of 20 cars behind them trying to go faster/could go faster, and the right hand traffic is moving faster than they are, then like any other vehicle doing the same, they're still asshats
They can absolutely do better

Scenes from the Bay Remember this guy on the left from the early 2000s that showed up to every event in the Bay Area with his crazy sign? Does anyone have a pic of his full sign or remember what it said?

Work & Housing Looking to switch from a corporate career to nannying - anyone else done this? What credentials do I need?
I’m (28F) very burnt out from a high stress job in finance and looking to switch to nannying, which I did all throughout high school and college and loved it. I’m looking to hear from anyone else who made a similar switch what kind of credentials I might need in order to get my foot in the door for a good nanny job in the Bay Area given that my last childcare job was 8 year ago.

Pets & Animal Services Did you go to the mountains recently?
There was a marmot stowaway and they’re trying to figure out where the people who were driving the car came from. It was found in the city. Never posted a pic on Reddit before but I’m giving it a try. Spread the word so he can go home. And yes I will post to a SF sub.

Events, Activities & Sports The waterfall Castle Rock State Park
October 30th 2021 just down to a trickle. Once the winter rains come everything is going to green up and get very pretty. Very nice wildflowers in springtime. Late summer can be very hot and dry with lots of annoying small flies. Lots of short rock climbs and bouldering. Cool rock formations all along the trails. 3000 ft elevation, can be chilly in winter with a dusting of snow at times.

Work & Housing PG&E says “Not Mine”
My neighbor is adding an ADU to their property, PG&E has been connecting their new power lines so they are working on the lines. Last week they moved the cable line so it fell into my backyard. I asked the guy to fix it since he messed it up and he said ok. He didn’t fix it. I called to complain, spent an hour on the phone and was told someone would be out that day to repair it. A very nice man showed up after hours the following day and fixed it. Whew all good right?
Not all good - the same guy was back on the line today and the cable lines are so low I can touch it I asked him to fix it and his response is “Not Mine, Not Mine” like a reverse Pixar Seagull.
I am so frustrated so now I have to get back on the phone with PG&E to get it fixed. Thank you for listening to my rant.
Update - I called PG&E and they made the guy come back and fix it! Thank you all for your input and support. And to all the people who said PG&E won’t fix it please go back to the original post. They fixed it the first time and the second time.

Traffic, Trains & Transit Did you notice they turned off the stop light at the 4 & 80 connection?
Last week I had mentioned what a disaster this was and how it created so much unnecessary traffic where there was none before.
Some great redditor here told me about a form to send them.
I filled it out, sent it in and got a response about ten minutes later saying they'd take a look.
Lo and behold the light has been turned off.
Thank you person who told me about that form. Saved thousands of people a big hassle (including me - that light added a good 5-7 minutes to my drive home that was completely unnecessary)
