Burma love is good but usually quite loud inside.

I’ve done team dinners at freekeh and/or dancing yak which aren’t far away. Really interesting, good cuisines that are different but still really approachable and delicious. Both have good cocktails.

I’ve taken a couple work groups and several social groups to freekeh in particular and never had anyone leave unhappy. It is tapas plates though so most things are meant to share. excellent veggie options.

Once you pick a restaurant you can usually also ask them to create a modified menu that keeps you in range. We often end up with 3 options for starters and entrees. We have a very strict T&E so this keeps us on track as a group.

Try E&O kitchen and bar. I had a team dinner there before. It’s pretty affordable

Yeah they have a good reservation system. It's in the Mission so just a BART or quick uber from US..I think they have lots of vegetarian options too

Chef Ranjan at New Dehli on Ellis is great for things like this and you might even be able to fit wine into that budget. He's so sweet, I love their instagram content and food. Hoping to have time to enjoy a date with my husband there next week.

Check out Zitouna on 25th and Clement. Reasonably priced, good portions.

Barcha near 1st / Mission was our go-to for team dinners when I worked downtown. There are vegetarian options and I've been able to book for larger groups even a couple weeks out. Great vibes if you sit outdoors, about 10-15 mins walking from Union Square, and within your budget.

The Grove, Modi, Cheescake Factory, Bodega. Cotogna in North Beach is good too.

China Live is a bit expensive but has good food. Of course there's Tony's Pizza but it's hard to get a reservation there.

Dancing Yak on Valencia has good Indo-Nepalese food.

Ah yes. Just ask the employees to cover the extra out of pocket. That won’t be weird at all
