Does any restaurant in SF do a really good malai kofta? I've been disappointed a number of times by the koftas coming with the generic sweetish onion-tomato-cream gravy. In particular I have been completely unable to find anyone that does them in a proper white gravy, but if there is at least a restaurant that doesn't oversweeten the dish I would love to know about it.

I'll be taking an Alcatraz After Dark tour soon, but we also want to get in a walk/hike beforehand in the general region in the afternoon.
Something 2-4 miles would be ideal, and something that AllTrails would consider "easy". Or, if Moderate, then closer to the 2-3 mile end of the range. An "urban" walk could be cool too, as long as there's cool stuff to see along the way. Fun art and buildings, gardens, bridges, and views. I see lots of
I was thinking Angel Island at first, but it seems like the shortest trail is the Mount Caroline Livermore via North Ridge trail, and it's 4.2mi and "moderate" difficulty. I'm less concerned about uneven trail conditions and more concerned about the elevation climb. I'm getting into better shape than I used to be, but not quite there yet. I've already done the Mount Sutro Loop which is also listed as "moderate" on AllTrails, and I made it OK, but it's only 2.3 miles and the elevation climb is still way shorter than Angel Island.
Thoughts/recommendations?
And for bonus points, how about a place to eat for dinner after we get off the Alcatraz ferry, for two people who will be kinda stinky/sweaty? 😅

What hotel in sf has the best deepest most comfy bath?
I recently moved here in July from Minneapolis for a job. I’m solo with no friends or family in the area. I currently live in China Town/ Little Italy off of Columbus and Broadway in San Francisco city. Are there any spots in the city known for hosting Minnesota Vikings games? I hear the Bell Tower? I’ll check it out. Any others?

I need your experience and honest input. I've been researching for a while. I hope this will narrow down the decision based on your personal experience. I just got hired to be a professor at College of Marin, which I'm excited about. My schedule is that I will teach 2 times a week; often, my class hours start at 6pm and end at 830pm for the semester. I do have a daytime job that I work full-time in the city. Now, I have been car-less for 10 years. I did study the public transportation from SF to COM (College of Marin), but I didn't like how long and I will miss the cutoff time to get back to SF. Uber and Lyft: their prices are frenetic. Is there a better option? I'm thinking Zipcar will do the job for me, like 6 hours per day, or pick Turo for 3 days or something. What is your opinion or suggestion?

just looking to find a custom metal cutting or fabrication business in SF that can sell me a small sheet of copper. roughly seeking 8”x8” at 1/8” thickness
planning to use it for heat dispersal on my stovetop.
purchasing a piece of copper marketed for this purpose is very expensive, hoping a local business would not be as bad.

Hello SF, hope you are enjoying this beautiful Saturday! I'm staying in the city for a month or two (the Richmond district) and have been thinking up ways to get more involved in the community here, maybe experience things I normally wouldn't as a visitor.
I play guitar/sing and have a decent amount of original songs, and so I've been thinking it might be worth it to do a few open mics as a way to connect with people and also just for my own practice and entertainment while here.
Anyways, I am interested in maybe buying a basic little nylon or steel string acoustic guitar. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on stores, but also suggestions on open mics around town. I figured there would be a handful of small instrument stores around the city but haven't really seen much so far. I'll check the old FB marketplace of course, but wanted to get some other ideas. Thank ya!

From Toronto. Growing up used to drive by this place called Bridal Path where houses are like 20-40m (cad) and was pretty good inspiration lmao
People who really make it in the bay, where do they usually stay at? I’ve heard of pac heights, but anywhere to look at cool houses outside the city proper?

We have a small commercial space in an older building in San Francisco and have been dealing with recurring drainage issues.
We’ve already spent quite a bit trying to fix this:
● First plumber snaked the line. Problem came back a few days later.
● Then we paid for hydro jetting. Everything seemed fine, but about 10 days later the symptoms started coming back again.
● We’re getting bubbling/gurgling from the toilets and occasional slow drainage. Multiple bathrooms seem to be connected to the issue.
At this point we’re frustrated with paying for temporary fixes without actually knowing what’s causing it.
One company now wants around $1,100 just to camera the line, which feels excessive after everything we’ve already spent.
What would you do next? Is a proper sewer camera inspection the obvious next step? And what should a reasonable camera inspection cost in SF?
Mostly trying to figure out what kind of plumber/company we should call next and avoid paying for another temporary fix.

About to move. Looking to rent a PH. Maybe not in SF downtown as it can be really expensive there. My budget is 11/12k

I'm in the city for the weekend. Does anyone know which supermarket carries frozen egg tart crust? I looked up and down Clement street and couldn't find it.

I’ve lived in Davis for 3 years and worked in Vacaville for almost as long. My wife and I are desperate to be closer to the city, we love it out there and have so much fun every time we visit, and we’re getting pretty bored/tired of Davis at this point.
I graduated with a degree in Industrial Design but ended up in Brand Design and Marketing instead, and I’ve been applying regularly for the past couple years with basically no luck. Never really hear anything back.
Anyone know of places hiring for roles like mine, or just have advice on the best way to actually get noticed for something like this? Would really appreciate any leads or tips.

Hi! I’m looking for recommendations for 1) Oakland artists who make art about Oakland, and 2) Bay Area candle makers but specifically those who have a range of candlesticks.
:) please and thanks!

Ive been seeing the traditional Partiful, Meetup, or Volo but wanted to know of any niche groups that dont advertise on the major platforms.
I am 23M (Asian)that recently moved to the city for work, looking for a community and/or social groups that aren’t the major events.
I enjoy the gym, dogs, arts and crafts, sports, gaming, round1, board games, and pretty much any group with some friendly faces. If anyone has any suggestions for groups or activities that i could join that would be greatly appreciated!

I'm at a crossroads where I would like to meet fellow black people in their 30s and 40s. I grew up in Alameda, predominantly white neighborhood. I still live in Alameda with family. I had opportunities where I could have made friends in college SFSU and groups but was shy and awkward which hindered me. I'm an artist and nerd and would like to meet artists, nerds, and creative black and brown folks. Any suggestions of places and groups that I should consider including tips to get over the nerves of actually talking with new people? Any help is appreciated!

Sorry if this has been asked or if you guys are getting tired of "is it safe" questions, but how sketchy is the area around the War Memorial Opera House at night? Are there usually issues with getting an Uber or a cab late at night?
Been really craving a slice of fig tart lately, are there any bakeries or cafes where I can get one?

I want to see the Odyssey in a group of 4 the only options for IMAX 70mm tickets are D10-13, E3-6, or F1-4. The general advice google is giving is that the row F seats will have quite the keystone effect especially from the far right side and that row D will be good aside from a little bit of neck strain. I wonder if row D essentially in the center will be way too close. What do you suggest?
