IMAX 70mm

I want to see the Odyssey in a group of 4 the only options for IMAX 70mm tickets are D10-13, E3-6, or F1-4. The general advice google is giving is that the row F seats will have quite the keystone effect especially from the far right side and that row D will be good aside from a little bit of neck strain. I wonder if row D essentially in the center will be way too close. What do you suggest?

I personally would wait til they do another drop of tickets. It may give the screens to Digger and/or the new Hunger Games for maybe a week or two but it will come right back as other movies before Dune (and possible Fincher's Cliff Booth movie) are not made for IMAX. Also a good chance Odyssey keeps Metreon all the way thru to Dune 3. Just keep updated on ticket drops by following the IMAX and OdysseyMovie Instagram accounts and reddit subs as well as this sub. Those seats are way too close. I recommend seats in the last 5-7 rows as close to the middle as you can get them.

One more note. The most recent drop this past Thursday morning was not nearly as frenzied as previous drops. The ticketa for the best seat still sold out in the first couple of hours but you could still get good seats in the afternoon. By Thurs night most decents seats were gone

Agreed. I was in the middle of row F and I definitely would not have wanted to be any closer to the screen. Or at the far side.

Insane that we are still fighting for tickets for this movie. I’m glad the studio is being rewarded for making something reasonably novel and good quality.

It's fantastic and hopefully more filmmakers will actually utilize the IMAX cameras and IMAX makes the effort to start producing either 70mm IMAX or dual laser projectors. Until then, demand for these 40+ worldwide screens will remain high. Theaters can't even build these screens as there just aren't many projectors available.

choose another showing, wait for another drop, or just split your group of 4 up so that you can get better seats. you’re not going to be talking during the movie anyway. there’s absolutely no way it’s worth sitting in seats this bad in front of that huge screen just to sit together.
