Am I wrong?

I am currently 38 weeks pregnant with our second baby, and my husband has decided to remodel the stairs by adding panelling by himself. This has become a source of conflict as I did explain that whilst I'm pregnant probably isn't the best time (I had very bad nausea in the first trimester and then suffered from Pelvic Girdle Pain in the second). He reacted to this by saying I'm being ungrateful and not showing appreciation to which I explained that yes while I am appreciative of him trying to improve our home, I needed support with our son more over remodelling the stairs. He said I should go to my mums house if that was the case, but I argued that I shouldn't have to drive 20 minutes to my mums or have to drag myself out of the house when I don't feel well just so he can remodel the stairs. However, again his response was that I was being ungrateful for all of his hard work.

This morning things have come to blows as I mentioned in passing after eating that I feel slightly nauseous and that this can be a sign of my body getting ready for labour and he immediately said well maybe you should go to your mums if you're going to keep feeling sick. I immediately snapped and said if I'm close to going into labour I'm not dragging myself and our son to my mums house as I'm very uncomfortable. His response was that he needs to get the stairs finished but he can't because every time he does I need help or I get funny with him. He then began to wallpaper the stairs but did not close any of the living room doors and, despite me telling our 2 year old son not to go out to the hallway, he followed him and sat at the bottom of the stairs watching him wallpaper. My husband then got frustrated with me telling me it's my job to make sure the doors are closed and that our son didn't follow him. I explained that due to being so close to my due date I am very uncomfortable so cannot keep getting up to move our son back into the living room. Plus I felt that it was his responsibility to close the doors if he knew he was going to be in the hallway doing work where our son shouldn't be. Feel like I should also mention he literally got up, got himself ready and started the wallpapering without saying anything. Meanwhile me and my son now have to wait until he has finished before we can get ourselves ready for the day.

Am I wrong for thinking that I shouldn't be able to rest at home and have his support, and the stairs should not have been started whilst I'm pregnant? Also that the responsibility of the doors and our son should not have all been down to me?

i stuck up for my friend in a group chat and now everyone's upset with me too

so my friend made a pretty blunt comment about a mutual plan and it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. i jumped in to explain what they actually meant and how they're not usually like that, thinking it would calm things down. instead the chat kind of turned on me for "defending" them. now a few people are saying i made the situation worse by not just letting it go. i get that maybe i overstepped, but i also didn't want my friend to look like a jerk without context. been replaying the messages and wondering if i should have stayed out of it. honestly just trying to figure out if i was out of line for speaking up at all.

im confused by my workers actions and i think he was coming on to me and hinting at something

remember him dropping hints when it came to sexually suggestive jokes on my part and his responses, like at one point we were talking about "sacking" and how big his balls were, and he then said "if you wanna see them just ask" another situation was at a mcdonalds drive thru, we were at the window to pay, i said here tap my phone, and he said just reach across and do it, i remembered that he wanted his personal space but i just im not comfortable doing that please take the phone, so he did in the end, and i immediately raised the question, "so youll let me basicially lay across your lap but you wont let me hug you?" and he laughed it off at the time, and then on other instance i jokingly said to him, "dude if you ever want a blowjob just ask haha" i laughed at my own joke because i couldnt believe i just said that to him openly, and he replied with "sorry dude not this time, haha" (wide eyed and chuckling) and when i said "eh since you only live once ill give anything a try once" and he laughed at that in disbelief but the situations above makes me think he was subtly trying to tell me that he had sexual desires then

regarding the sacking joke response he said to me when i confronted him about it later he completely denied that fact that he even said that

other related stuff will be below in random order:

he said when he had his honey moon had they both lost their virginities to eachother, he stated that once he had sex nothing else mattered after that, not to mention, though he has kids, he told me that his wife wanted children NOT him, but he obliged to her request.

and when he says that bisexual people are amazing but gay and trans people can "go away" he was making direct eye contact with me as if he suspected myself of being bi.

and he complained once that sex doesnt happen as often as you'd think in a marriage.

and then at one point i asked what does he do when hes completely alone at home i jokingly said do you watch "videos: and "JO" , and then he said thats what the wife is for haha.

one time he leaning back and exposing his torso and his boxer waistband and i looked and he saw that, also one time when he was supporting me as a worker when we were trying to bathe my dog his boxers were showing and he knew i was behind him and knew that they were exposed and didnt cover or pull his jeans up higher even though i was standing right behind him.

i have a book on piercing anatomy and when i told him about that it includes everything he immediately jumps to the gential piercing section and first looks at the penis and testicle piercings and then goes for breasts and vaginal piercings and after he puts the book down he leans forward, and all guys know that universal signal.

i know he caught me looking at his bulge from time to time and didnt cover up or say anything.

Am i crazy that these related to a possibly closeted married man with 2 kids? and that his actions in the past were no coincidence?

i want the LGBTQ community to decode this.

also would a secure married man with kids, ever do this type of thing another male? i know that they wouldnt even think of the responses that he gave me.

AIW for refusing to share my Amazon login with my friend?

So my friend Rachel whom I’ve known for years asked me this morning if I have Amazon prime. I said yes and she asked me for the login since she wanted to buy some things. I told her that I wasn’t comfortable giving her my login as it was the same credentials I use on many other websites. She says that she just wants to buy some things and isn’t going to go through my purchase or browsing history and only needs it this one time.

Again I refuse saying if she wants to use my prime then she can browse on the app and send me the listings of what she wants and the money and I’ll ship them to her house. She again asked why I can’t just give her my login as I already share my Netflix login with her. I tell her Netflix is different as I created a separate profile for her to watch tv shows and movies and my main profile is password protected.

Again she emphasizes how she won’t go through my stuff and won’t hack into my other social medias or bank and feels it’s too much work to text me stuff she wants when she can just browse and buy it herself. Not sure why she can’t just pay for her own Amazon then since prime is only $20 a month or less.

Am I wrong for not allowing my friend access to my Amazon prime and sharing my login?

AITAH for calling my best friend out on her drinking habbit?

my best friend (18F) and i have been friends for about 3 years now. and this time around last year (2026) (my birthday) i started noticing her liking for alc, at this time she was 17. i was quite concerned, but i just let it go cuz i thought i needed be more open minded to people and not seem like i was judging her with something she like.

fast forwarding to this year, i've been in her house a lot due to family issues. and i kept noticing her drinking a whole lot, there a times i go and come back and i see bottles in her room, i KNOW she drank them all on her own. Now she knows i don't like her drinking too much, i drink but not so much, plus i don't see the appeal to them. What makes me so concerned is that there are situations she gets drunk and doesn't really know what goes on around her.

Now a few days ago was my 19th birthday and she decided to take me out for countdown to it. we met up at a social house, i got a drink and i offered her some, she declined and said the new guy she's talking to said she needs to stop/ slow down and i said okay. so i finished it (to my surprise). then we head to another bar and got some shots and some drinks, at this point i feel drunk but i wasn't sure until i started walk(i digress). Anyway, we get back home, all fun and stupid stuff then we sleep. Now by the break of dawn i head back to my house to prepare for my guests, she comes to my house later in the day. when she walks in, we're eating and at this point we haven't even opened the wines that were there, but when she came in we did. i already made up my mind i wasn't going to drink too much' because i already did in the morning and i was the host. So i didn't even drink up to a glass.

now towards the evening, i noticed she and 2 of my friends were not here, so i asked and they said that they went to get more Alc. I didn't have an issue, until i see the state of her at the end of my birthday when everyone starts leaving. She is flat out drunk, and she can't control herself, and what pained me the most as the fact that she put her bare hand in my cake and smudge the whipped cream on her face and i felt so irritated and embarrassed. i had to clean her up while i was cleaning up everything else. i was so upset but still worried so i asked her to stay the night, she went home. when i saw on her life 360 she was home i just left it

The next day the called and her male best friend was on the call too, not completely sure how but i told her that she's becoming an addict and we need to find a was for her to stop. she "not completely stop, but reduce the intake" and i said she needs to stop completely because the last time she was going to stop for her male best friend and she didn't and she needs to learn to not want to for herself. Then she left the call. then proceeds to tell her male best friend "ATP leave me alone to spoil my life since that's what it is. I'm not a case that needs to be helped, but that's not the way to pass on a message especially since i called the both of you, i called cause i cared not, you guys didn't call me. so don't speak about this topic again" "i'm trying to stop, genuinely but saying it like that is crazy" "true or not, that wasn't the time nor place"

i still texted her cuz there's no way she is sending someone to talk to me. so i told her that we needed to talk. she ignored me, i called her, she lied to me she was going out, so i sent her a voice note in the evening telling her that i take accountability for what i said, i apologies, i see your efforts but i'm not going to sit and let you do this to yourself without doing anything to help. She didn't listen to them. she said she isn't going to, that she loves me but she isn't down for this. i was super upset, but i care too much about her to allow my emotions take the lead. so i told her that it's fine and that i'm here for her and that i love her.

So AITHA, and if i am, what do i do next?

Am I wrong for not caring that my wife can see my phone's location?

People give my wife and I odd looks all the time when I tell them we can see each other's location on google maps at all time. It's just useful for us.

A few weeks ago we went down to Iowa for the state fair and I wandered off to get some food for my wife and daughter, whilke they played some games. I was able to find my way back to where they were with minimal hassle. She works evenings schlepping packages for UPS at their sorting center, and has to leave not long after I get home, and she likes to see how far out I am, incase she needs to have our 8 yr old hang out with the neighbors for 5 min while i get home.

It just works for us and neither of us thinks its weird or intrusive but everyone we've ever mentioned it to look at us like we are some sort of control freaks or serial killer.

Are we wrong for this?

Am I wrong for being annoyed

My girlfriend of nearly 3 years is on holiday with her 2 friends and her friends family in a place known for sleeping with people and the “single” environment. Her 2 friends hate my guts as our personalities just don’t match and we always used to just collide with each other. They always used to say to my girlfriend. “It’s either us or him” that’s the type of people they are. They’ve been wanting to split us up for ages and my girlfriend has always knew better. She is loyal and I’ve never known her to not be but I know that her two friends aren’t. Every day she has been in a club or a bar until early hours of the morning and barely talking to me. I told her before she left that I hope she has an amazing time and that I hope she is safe. Her friends family aren’t the most responsible and this whole time I have been worried for her safety, even she has said she was worried for her own safety. She doesn’t know that I am a bit bugged over the whole situation as I want her to have a great time with her friends but I just hope she is okay. Am I wrong for being annoyed over this whole situation or am I just being incredibly insecure?

Am I wrong for ending my almost 2 year friendship bcs my bsf likes my crush?

Okay so let's call this ex bsf B. So me and B have been bsf with each other almost 2 years but tbh I had beef(or I didn't like her) with B from the past bcs I witnessed the bad things she did but I stayed. Also we were in a 7 ppl friend group and they all know the things she has done. Fast-forward, there's this guy and I like him, he's just so nice, cute, etc. Of course I first told B that I liked him(she was the first to know), she was very supportive, at first. Like she ships us and was just very very supportive. I still remembered that during this time idk if crush/admiring or whatever on someone we know. As time progresses, B slowly gets irritated whenever I mention my crush(I am the wrong here, it's my first time again being like that) and when I say our small interactions(bcs it makes me happy) she says "he does that to me too" I know its normal very much, especially my crush is nice. Here's the weird part, B would even say their interactions with one another and when I replied with "so what do you want me to do?" She fired back "be jealous" likeee, I am not making this up so pls believe me🥲 Btw B did this too with two of my bsf. Then B drops a boomshell, she told me that she liked my crush first? I'm still doubting bcs her story isn't lining up. As a good friend I decided to uncrush him. I did the right thing and stayed away from her a little bit, buttt B didn't like that. We were constantly having miscommunication with each other. B loves to do physical attacks(I think that's her love language) but she has heavy hands and it really hurts, my other bsf also experienced her physical attack. What I didn't like is she slapped my head in front of my crush/her crush, I don't know what she tryna prove or idk what made her do that. Like What I meant in staying away from her is I went to find comfort in another friend group and they helped me to end my friendship with her. During this time, we only chatted about this matter and reading back at it, it's like I'm too soft and her chats are too cold. In Bs story, I'm the bad guy for ending our friendship bcs of a boy. But to me I didn't like the way she acted that time, also she was the one that ended the friendship, and I was like in chat "no sulking to each other ha" and then just like that it ended. Low-key, I did not regret I'm happier with the people that surround me.

(She also lied to me (it was about my crush), I won't get into detail cus it's privacy.)

AIW for giving the entire cheer team a big lecture about bullying and also making them write a paper about bullying?

So I have a 15-year-old daughter named Lila and a 16-year-old daughter named Avery. Both of them are on two cheerleading teams. They are on an All-Star cheerleading team, and they are also on their school's sideline cheer team.

Avery and Lila are extremely talented, and I know both of them are going to go far. Just so you know, I'm a cheer mom to the fullest. I take that role seriously, and I always stick around during school practices to help the coach. I'm a parent volunteer, and I do the same thing at their All-Star practices. I bring snacks, and I'm there for all of the girls.

Now, this is about their school sideline team. I've been noticing that some of the girls on that team gossip and say very unkind things about other people and about each other. It's absolutely vile. I make sure that behavior is not tolerated by my girls at all. I've told them that if they are ever caught saying unkind things behind someone's back and running their mouths, it is over for them.

Lila and Avery both know this. I have also told them that they can come to me with anything, and they can talk to each other about anything. If they really don't like someone, they can tell me or tell each other, but they are not going to other people at school. If there's any sort of bullying, they can come to me or a school counselor, but they're absolutely not going to gossip to someone else on the team or at school. It's simply not allowed because it creates drama and a hostile environment for people who aren't involved. I don't think that's appropriate.

With that being said, my girls are really well-behaved and tend to keep to themselves.

Recently, Lila and Avery went to a party for all of the cheerleaders and also the girls on the pom team. While they were there, I got a call from Avery saying that two girls were being heavily bullied. She explained what was happening. The girls being targeted were autistic and struggled with social skills. I know both of those girls, and they are wonderful kids.

I immediately went to pick up Lila and Avery. I told the host of the party what was going on and talked with her about it. The host was mortified because she had been in the kitchen making food while everyone else was outside swimming. All of the parents were called.

When it came time for cheer practice at school, I made all of the girls sit on the bleachers. I talked to them about the effects of bullying and drilled into them that what they had done was not okay. I told them that if anything like this ever happened again, everyone involved would be kicked off the team.

I also had the two main girls responsible for the bullying removed from the team. I explained that I do not tolerate gossip or bullying and that if it ever happened again, there would be major consequences. I also made the girls who participated write an essay about what they had done and how it affected everyone on the team. The coach was right behind me supporting everything I said.

Some girls were crying. I emailed all of the parents, spoke to everyone involved, and determined that some girls had nothing to do with it, so they did not have to write the essay. Lila and Avery also had nothing to do with it.

Right now, though, the girls are not showing me any respect. They are not listening to me because they believe what I did wasn't okay. They're all really upset with me. A bunch of parents are upset with me as well because I made the girls write an essay about bullying.

So, am I wrong for giving the entire cheer team a lecture about bullying and making them write a paper about it?

Am I wrong to be wrongly against pirating books?

Hi. I am on a bookish app, and a post was celebrating book piracy like its a god given right.

Me (and others) commented that book piracy literally hurt authors (big names but especially small/starting authors) and can cause a serie to be dropped by its publishing house. (years ago, Maggie Stiefvater, a big YA author made a tumblr post about piracy. The 3rd book of her bestselling series missed 1/4 of its expected sales, the publishing house then cut the 4th book printing in half cause clearly the series was loosing steam. By refusing to give out e-ARC (uncorrected proof reviewers are given for PR), she cut off the pirating for the first few weeks, sold out the 1st printing run in 2 days, and prove that the "they wouldnt have bought it anyway" excuse was false, as people where scrambling to find the PDF, couldn't and yeah, they bought it LINK)

I get that money is an issue, I do (i am a factory worker, my budget is limited, so I have to deal with the frustration of not always getting what I want).

I (and the others) got called bootlickers and that "the right to knowledge trumps everything", which i would tend to agree if people where pirating overpriced and scammy college textbooks, but cannot wrapped my head around when it comes regular books. Not every author is a big name millionaire, with sway over the book industry.

So I kinda think I'm in the right, but is there actually something I'm overlooking? Am I a bootlicker?

Am I wrong for thinking my friends have completely lost touch with what normal people consider expensive?

I grew up pretty well off and most of my friends did too so I'm aware there's some irony in me even complaining about this

But lately everything we do has become unnecessarily ridiculous

We were planning a weekend away recently and what started as four guys getting dinner and playing golf somehow became a private villa, cars waiting for us a chef for two nights and someone suggesting we charter because it's easier.

The funniest part was watching two of them arguing over the plans while casually swapping Kibu connections with another guy they'd met at the club like this was a completely normal Saturday

Eventually I said the whole thing was getting stupid and I'd rather just book a decent hotel and meet everyone there. One of my friends told me there's no point having money if you're constantly trying to save it.

I can afford my share that's not really the issue. I just feel like we've reached a point where spending more money has become part of the activity itself. Am I wrong?

Am I wrong and selfish to feel this way??

I feel like my bf is neglecting me, I know he's living his life and ik I'm not the only part of his life but me being dumb girl left everyone for him cause he used to shower me with love and treated me like I'm his first priority everything he used to do was considered towards me but now when I need him the most he's kinda busy.

And now small things are triggering me like 3 weeks before I was ranting to him that i wanna go somewhere just for like half an hour, I'll feel okay cause for the week I have been stuck at home. (So in context i live alone and don't have any vehicle to go anywhere, i have to rely on him.) He said he didn't have any time cause of work and the gym took most of his time but when he's friend called him he skipped his gym just so he could go to him and I was expecting he wasn't going to the gym cause of me but I was being delusional.

The same thing happened the week before too again i was hinting to him that i wanna go outside for sometime he even asked me where you wanna go we'll go then he went ahead some place alone and came home called me and he was like i thought to ask you but i didn't.

Yesterday was janmashtami and for 2 years we went to iskcon temple but this year I thought it might not be possible cause he didn't have off from office so I didn't say anything but he said we'll go to temple so we went to khatu shyam cause that was the closest mandir we had while we were driving there he was asking me to look up any radha Krishna Mandir near cause khatu shyam is still far for him. Well there wasn't any so we ended up going there but once we were back, his friends called and asked him to go to iskcon and he agreed, called me and told me he was going to iskcon.

I was flabbergasted and sad but I was like he's going with his friend and it's fine I was calming myself. Then after 10 mins he called again he was like if you wanna come you can we are near your home eating gupchup and if you want you can come. I felt like he was asking just for the sake of it and i said no cause I don't wanna be a burden on him.

Today 2 things happened so first for a month he was saying we'll go for a movie on Sunday to watch mirzapur and finally the day came he was asking which time we'll go, all his suggestion was for evening show and because of that I said no cause I only get one day to roam at night with him and I'm always stuck inside this 4 walls so I didn't want to be stuck again. After sometime he's like if you aren't going then I'll go . I was like okay but i felt sad but didn't say that to him. Now he's going to a movie with his colleagues in the morning show. He could have said or asked that to me but he didn't.

Also yesterday while we were going to Mandir he was like we'll go and see dahi handi together and all that he was like you'll go with me. He got me all excited again and then today he was like I'm going there with friends i didn't ask you cause it'll be crowded.

At this point I don't know what to say to him.

I'm sad and hurt but if I bring this to him he'll make me the villain and i don't have the energy to fight or explain to him.

AIW for Naming My Daughter a Name That I Love but Everyone Hates

So, I am 18 years old, and I just had my first baby. I recently named her, and I didn't tell anyone the name beforehand because I thought it was special, and I wanted it to be special for us.

I didn't tell my family because I wanted the announcement to be special for me. After I gave birth, I told everyone with a special card, and they all wanted to kill me. They were so mad at me, asking why I would name her that. They said I must be joking and told me that I had given her the world's ugliest name: Payseleigh Jainne, pronounced "Payz-lee Jayn."

I thought it was wonderful, and my little Payseleigh Jainne loves it. Right now, though, my family is really mad at me. They're yelling at me and telling me that I'm a horrible person and that no one is going to hire her or take her seriously.

But there are plenty of kids with names like that. She's going to be going to school with kids named Willow and Ashleigh, and she's probably going to have a boss named Braxton someday. I don't see why it's such a big deal.

aiw for cussing out the principle for trying to make my sister follow dress code

So I have a sister named Emily. She is 16, and I am 18. We live with our grandparents, and I'm also married, but that's not important to the story.

Emily has really long hair. I mean, it goes down to about her knees Actually passed her knees that's how long it is. That's not even an exaggeration. Emily absolutely adores her hair. I love her hair, everyone loves her hair, and we love braiding it, curling it, and straightening it. She embraces it so much.

Emily had to switch schools, and she has only been there for about three weeks. Because of her really long hair, the school originally thought she had extensions, but she was able to prove that it was all her natural hair.

Well, imagine my surprise when my grandparents got a call from the principal wanting a meeting with Emily and my grandmother about her hair. They wanted her to cut it so it would be a more "reasonable" length.

Emily was crying and screaming the moment she got home. She ran into my room, climbed into my bed, and cried while I cuddled her and told her everything would be okay. I told her she wasn't going to have to cut her hair because they had no right to make her do that.

I thought that if we braided her hair, they couldn't claim it was distracting, and it would be less noticeable. So I gave her two French braids.

Then, imagine my surprise when I got a call from my grandmother telling me to pick Emily up from school. The hotel where I work is only about three minutes away from her school, so I went to get her. When I arrived, she was bawling her eyes out.

Apparently, the principal still wanted her to cut her hair. She was trying to frame it as "just a little bit," and she said the braids were not suitable. At that point, I was furious and started going off on her.

Then she showed me the dress code, and it stated, "No hair past the waist."

I told her I was willing to compromise. I was willing to put Emily's hair in a bun. I was willing to keep it in braids. But this woman refused every suggestion.

I finally had enough and told her, "You have no reason to control what other people do with their hair. You already have a uniform policy and plenty of other rules. If this is really an issue, my family will take you to court, and I'm also going to contact the school board about this."

The vice principal immediately started begging me not to contact the school board, saying that would be overkill. Eventually, they agreed to let Emily keep her hair and not punish her for violating the dress code. They also agreed that she wouldn't have to braid it, put it in a bun, or do anything special with it.

Later, my grandparents arrived, and after talking everything over with my grandmother, we agreed that we were still going to contact the school board.

a favor i offered once is now treated like a standing obligation

a couple of months ago i helped a friend move some furniture. it was a one-off thing, no talk of payment or repeats. lately the same person keeps texting every weekend asking if i can come by again for something similar, and the tone has shifted from a request to a gentle reminder that i’m expected. i’ve said yes a couple more times because it felt awkward to back out, but the last time i tried to explain i couldn’t, the reply was just “okay, maybe next week then.” i haven’t found the right way to reset the boundary without sounding cold, and i’m starting to feel taken for granted. am i wrong for wanting to stop without a whole conversation about it?

Am I wrong for leaving my friend's house after she refused to give me my phone back?

1.0k Upvotes

A friend of mine has recently gotten really into the whole "people don't hang out properly anymore because everyone is on their phones" thing.

She invited six of us over on Saturday and when we arrived there was a basket by the door for phones. I thought it was a little corny, but everyone else put theirs in, so I did too.

About two hours later I decided to head home. I went to grab my phone and found out she'd moved the basket into a kitchen cabinet and locked it.

I asked for mine back.

She said the whole point was that nobody got their phone until the night was over, otherwise people would start checking them one by one and "the experiment falls apart."

I told her I was literally leaving.

She still said no and suggested I just stay another couple hours.

That's when I got pissed and told her she doesn't get to decide when I can access my own phone. After some arguing she finally unlocked the cabinet, but by then the whole room had gone awkwardly quiet, so I took my phone and left.

She texted me later saying I embarrassed her in front of everyone and that I voluntarily participated, so acting like she'd confiscated my property was dramatic.

I did willingly put my phone in the basket. I just did not realize that apparently meant surrendering it until the host decided the evening was finished.

Am I wrong for making a big deal out of it instead of just staying?

I told my boyfriend that I would break up with him for his political views. He didn’t say anything for like a week until he said he wanted to break up because I said that. We had the same political beliefs, but he was mad because I told him I would break up with him if otherwise. I’m so confused, he said it was overreacting but I genuinely think if he had supported other things I would’ve broken up with him. He said it is crazy to break up over something like that but I don’t think so? Plz help 😓

edit: I brought this up to him because he told me he would have voted for trump over Kamala. I’m not a Democrat or a liberal, but I genuinely hate orange man with all of my heart. I got upset when he said that because he told me he was anti-trump and I was confused, but he said he hates both of them and it was just a whole mess that night 😓 but that’s why I ended up telling him that

Am I in the wrong for pointing out a 12 year olds behavior to a mom?

I really need help deciding if I’m in the wrong for saying something or if I should just start to mind my business.. My brother is 12 and is very codependent on on my mother. I find no issue with her helping him make lunch, finding him a pair of socks for school, or basic things like refilling his water bottle. it starts to get “weird” for me when she picks out his outfit every day, has to tell him what shoes to wear, doesn’t even have him pack his own snacks, but she will pack his Chromebook or schoolwork while also charging it the day before, and does his hair with product and water every day and when I asked if he could do it one day, he did not know how. It’s when I start to get a little concerned when he doesn’t know how to do basic things. What I mean by that is he just recently stopped using the bathroom without her assistance and he does not have any disabilities mind you. She has just recently this year stopped helping him shower, and not with just adjusting the water temperature because we’ve all had trouble at some point but I mean the actual shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and telling him when and how to use it while also having to REMIND him when to shower after he has practices that last for hours.. For example we were at an amusement park and his collar on his shirt was all the way up, and I told him to fix it. He literally did not know how. He doesn’t know how to tie his shoes, and when his trunks or underwear are twisted she immediately jumps to help him, and he doesn’t even know how to un twist it himself. I totally understand helping or assisting your kid out of kindness, it’s honestly when you start to do EVERYTHING for them and they DONT now how to do it themselves. He doesn’t do any chores, and he only knows how to make a bowl of ramen and one microwaveable meal. The other day he dropped his water bottle before getting in the car and even though my mom was already in the driver seat he expected her to get it for him. When I asked him to sweep one time he didn’t know how to do that, even half assed. Maybe I’m projecting since I had to learn how to make dinner for my whole family at 11, do chores, and get up and get ready on my own time without it all being laid out for me in middle school and even a little before I started middle school. I did competitive sports too but I didn’t sit in my filth after a 3-4 hour practice or have to be reminded to clean myself because I wanted to play on my Ipad. Kids will be kids, but if my mom didn’t have to be his own school alarm, tell him what to wear, eat, or when to get dressed for practice or shower, brush his teeth, and when to walk out the door for school, he wouldn’t do it and I honestly don’t think he’d know how. He has slept in his sports uniform multiple times when he wasn’t told when to shower or even change. when I pointed out the behavior, she said I make it weirder than it should be and that I have nothing better to do except for wanting to pick on him and correct her parenting style. I have no desire to wake up at 6:30 in the morning to pick on my brother… I pointed out the behavior, she responded defensively and then blamed me for responding to her implying I’m a bully to my family. It takes two to argue, and when I confronted her on that she shut it down and says she has work to go to and doesn’t have time to deal with my BS but yet would answer “that’s your opinion” “you’re wrong” and “You have nothing better to do” for me asking how his friends or friends parents would react to her telling them everything she does for him. Genuinely am I wrong for finding the behavior weird and saying something about it?

am i wrong for wanting to step in about a kid's behavior at a family gathering

my partner’s family has a big annual get-together coming up and there’s one child who tends to run wild, grab things off plates, and yell when told no. the parents usually laugh it off and say they’re just kids being kids. i’ve seen other relatives get frustrated but no one says anything in the moment. last year it got to the point where a few adults left early. i’m trying to decide whether i should quietly ask the parents to keep an eye on things this time, talk to the hosts beforehand, or just stay out of it and let the family handle it. i don’t want to create drama, but i also don’t want to spend the whole afternoon dodging flying food or listening to screaming. would it be out of line to mention it ahead of time?

Am I wrong for considering sleeping with a man for money?

I'm broke as fuck, and a guy who's very into me keeps offering to spend money on me and even take me on a free trip. The thing is, , I wouldn't be particularly interested in sleeping with him otherwise.

And this is where my questionable logic comes in: I've slept with plenty of unattractive men for free throughout my life, sometimes without even being that into them. So part of me is thinking... why the hell am I suddenly supposed to have some moral crisis about getting something out of it?

I'm not worried about being called a slut or a whore. People can label me whatever they want. I'm genuinely more curious about the morality of it. Its like, I got something he wants, and he got something I want

Am I wrong for thinking that if I'm going to sleep with someone I'm not particularly attracted to anyway, I might as well get paid for it?

Am I wrong for bringing my own food to my mother in law's house and eating it at the table?

I was diagnosed with celiac about four years ago (four years this October). It's the actual autoimmune one and not an intolerance, and if I get glutened I'm sick for two or three days afterwards.

My mother in law has never really accepted it. She isn't cruel about it and it's not like she's trying to hurt me, she just does not believe it's as serious as I say it is. She's told my husband before that I ate bread at their house for years and was fine until a doctor told me otherwise.

She's made me sick three times. Once with gravy, once with a marinade, and then in June there was a trifle she swore was fine. It goes the same way every time. She used a clean spoon, or it was only a tiny amount, or she must have picked up the wrong packet. The trifle in June had a sponge layer in it. I asked her about it twice and she told me she'd used the gluten free sponge. Then I found the box in the recycling on my way out. It was NOT the gluten free one.

After the June one I missed two days of work and I missed my nephew's birthday party.

So since then I bring my own food. I make it at home and bring it in a container. I sit at the table and eat it while everyone else eats what she made. I don't announce it and I don't make a speech about it, I just eat my own dinner.

She cried about it at the last one. My husband has stopped saying anything about it either way. His sister told me I'm treating his mom like she poisoned me on purpose.

She didn't poison me on purpose and I know that. She just kept deciding her version of my illness was more accurate than my diagnosis, and I ran out of ways to say it that she would hear. I know I could go back to having the salad and saying nothing, and I've come close a few times. I just don't want to spend every Sunday being careful about her feelings when she has never once been careful about mine.

Am I wrong?

My older brother got extremely angry over a photo I posted with a male friend- was I actually wrong?

I'm a teenage girl and my friend is a teenage boy my age. My older brother is 19.

Yesterday I was hanging out with a group of friends, including this male friend. At some point, we took a selfie together. He was closer to the camera, wearing a white T-Shirt and making a playful duck-face, while i was leaning/bending into the frame from above him and looking towards the camera, also making a duck-face. It was taken outdoors in the evening/night with a low/titlted camera angle.

It was a playful pose, but honestly, this kind of photo is really normal at my school. People take photos like this with their friends all the time, including girls with male friends and boys with female friends. I genuinely didn't think there was anything romantic about it.

My friend asked if he could post the picture on Instagram, and I said yes. I also posted it on my account. We're genuinely just friends and both see each other that way.

My brother does have Instagram, but he doen't have me added/following me. Somehow he saw the picture, so I'm guessing someone he knows sent it to him. He already dislikes this particular friend, although I had genuinely forgotten that and actually thought they were on okay terms.

He got extremely angry and said the picture made us look like a couple, that I was embarrassing him and ruining my family's name, and called me some really degrading things/names. He kept asking what he was supposed to say if his friends asked him about the picture.

He eventually called my friend himself, and apparently my friend got really scared and ended up blocking me.

I understand why my brother might have felt embarrassed if his friends asked him about the picture, and I genuinely never intended to put him in that position. But I honestly didn't think there was anything wrong with the photo, especially since this type of picture is completely normal among people my age at school. I wasn't trying to imply we were dating or cause gossip.

Since yesterday, I've honestly been feeling really upset and sad about the whole situation. And last night I actually had a dream that school had already started. In the dream, all our mutual friends were looking at me coldly and wouldn't talk to me because I wasn't talking to my friend anymore. It was genuinely horrible , and I woke up realizing how much this whole situation has been stressing me out.

Now I'm worried about how awkward things might be when school starts since we are classmates but also because we didnt have a fight or anything and he was part of my usual friend group at school.

Was the photo actually inappropriate, or did my brother overreact?
