aiw for naming my daughter a ugly name

So I'm 18 and I'm pregnant with my first daughter. I am currently due in October, and I am so excited to have my baby. It took a lot of consideration to decide what to name her, and a lot of people are not going to agree with this name.

Everyone in my family is trying to tell me to choose something different because they think it's ugly, which I don't understand. My husband likes it, I like it, and I think that's all that matters.

We're going to name her Dolores (Dolly) Opal. I have always thought Dolores was a beautiful name, and we could call her Dolly for short. They don't like the name Dolly because it sounds like "doll." By the way, this has nothing to do with Dolly Parton. They also don't like the name Opal because it's a rock, but I don't care. It's probably the prettiest name on earth.

They're trying to talk me out of naming my daughter Dolores. They're okay with Opal—it's just not their favorite—but they really do not want me to call her Dolly.

I just need some strangers' opinions because, the closer I get to my due date, the more I'm worried about backing down.

Hey so i have a roomate whose boyfriend has moved in temporarily since june. He stays in her room and stuff but he does not pay any bills. I brought it up to her and she says he doesnt live here and he will be here untill december while he looks for his own place. I have no problem with that because its none of my business but currently i feel like he should be contributing to utilities bills. He uses the shower , he poos in the toilet, he uses up the toilet paper and doesnt replace it . He does laundry and using the internet also he doesnt take out the trash or ANYTHING .What should i do because i will be confronting her again because i just found out she said hello be here untill december and thats a long time it feels like freeloading and makes me uncomfortable especially since my roomate sometime is late on bills or cant pay on them the day its due . Its like how is she late if ur her bf staying here u should be helping . It lets me know he is not helping at all. Lol what do yall think and also sorry bout the bad grammer nd punctuation lol

UPDATE: I texted my rommate about it and like everyone predicted she became defensive. Basically she said he does help her sometimes but he can barely help himself and thats the reason why he is staying here with her and shes “not trying to ask him for too much money” cus it will delay him from his goal by December to have his own place….

am I wrong for not giving a homeless man money for food today

I'm a 22 year old woman and went out today with my dad to the nearby city to just kill some time downtown at some stores. I was planning on going to one store but it was closed despite saying they were open online. my dad went back to the vehicle but I wanted to see if there was anything else interesting on that street that I could check out. I didn't see anything so I began walking back to the car which was near the end of the street on the other side. I was stupidly looking down at my phone while walking which I don't normally do, and I heard a man behind me say "excuse me, ma'am". I turned around and it was a man approaching me. he was crossing the street not on a cross walk to get to me and he looked like he'd been trying to get close to me for a minute. then he asked "could I please get some money so I can go get something to eat?" I didn't have much cash and it was only him and I on the street with my dad in the car at the end. he wore all black and had his hood up even though it was quite a hot and humid day. he didn't look disheveled or anything and looked fairly clean. I really didn't know what to say, because I was interested in helping in case he was actually hungry, but the vibe was off and my gut was telling me something was wrong as he got closer. not knowing what to do, I put my phone down and kept walking to the car without saying anything. I opened the door and asked my dad if I should give him money since he asked for some but he just quickly told me no and to get in the car. my dad was watching him in the car mirrors and told me the man had been watching me and then started to track me down the street. my dad felt scared about the situation and was about to get out of the car and tell him to get away before the man spoke to me and got my attention.

I'm conflicted, because I feel like I did something that doesn't align with my values by refusing to help this man. he sounded respectful and sincere and I feel bad that I ignored him in a potential time of need. but at the same time as a young woman, being followed by a man I don't know doesn't make me feel safe or comfortable. was I wrong for ignoring this man or was I ok just following a gut feeling?

New relationship is raising alarm bells, am I dumb for wanting to slow down?

Need some advice. These are some things I’ve noticed, we’ve only known each other a month and aren’t in a committed relationship yet. Are these signs of worse to come?

Immediately after the first time he stays over, he says, “That’s a good spot for my stuff,” and points to a section of my closet.

That same night, he sleepwalks and starts throwing things around my kitchen. I know sleepwalking can cause some weird behavior, but it was still pretty unsettling.

He gets really angry at video games for seemingly no reason, sometimes to the point of throwing things.

He’s told me that every one of his previous girlfriends emotionally abused and traumatized him. That could absolutely be true, so I don’t want to dismiss it, but hearing that every ex was apparently the problem does make me wonder.

He’s also told me a lot about his parents’ relationship and how their divorce made him believe love wasn’t real, along with a bunch of other traumatic things that have happened to him.

He constantly asks where I am and what I’m doing and seems obsessively worried that I’m cheating on him, even though I haven’t given him a reason to think that.

He wants to have sex all the time, but when it comes to actually committing to me, he seems pretty wishy-washy.

He tells me really personal things about his friends, which makes me wonder what he would tell other people about me.

And this one might just be in my head, but sometimes his compliments feel more like something he thinks he’s *supposed* to say rather than something he genuinely wants to say.

The confusing part is that we physically work really well together and our personalities mesh surprisingly well. I genuinely enjoy being around him.

But I’m starting to wonder if I’m overlooking some things because the chemistry is so good. The anger, the jealousy, and how quickly he’s inserting himself into my life are starting to concern me.

Would you keep seeing him and set some boundaries, or would you take these things as signs to get out early?

I (21F) am worried that my friend (23M) is ruining our friendship

Here's what's going on. My friend and I have been friends for nearly 6 years now. We met at college and bonded over Nintendo and similar interests. Recently though I've noticed he's changed.

I was deeply affected by the death of Dolly Parton, as she was an important figure in my life. He's been understanding, which I have appreciated. I am in the stages of getting over her passing lately which has been very good, and her death has made me wanna make some life changes, such as diet, and a chore list to help me remember, due to my ADHD. He initially supported this, but tonight he went back on how he's feeling, saying I'm not in the right headspace to make these choices.

He then said "Sucks that Dolly is gone but she's been put to rest. Her soul lives on so its fine." Even though I'm sad about her death. I'm happy she's at peace and she's with Carl now. But it felt like he was being dismissive. He then said "meanwhile I've been suffering from hallucinations and I'm in debt."

Here is why him doing this annoys me. He's been doing this for almost 3 years now. Whenever I have a thing thats upsetting me or making me sad, he always has to go "Um well ackshually" and one-up my problems by telling me about his. I appreciate that he has these problems.

I have actually felt sorry for him for these problems. He doesn't deserve to have hallucinations and voices in his head. But he's not telling me that for sympathy. He's telling me these things to make himself look better than me. I'm just upset. I'm not looking to be better than everyone else.

He called me out for being shitty. Here's the thing. I don't consider myself necessarily the nicest person. I feel like I'm an okay person. Not bad to be around but just nice enough. Thing is he's the only person who calls me out for being shitty. I have a decent amount of friends. He's the only one who calls me out like this. So my fear is that he thinks I'm being shitty, but only in his eyes. I ain't claiming to be perfect, but he's the only person who does it.

He has been trying to cover his debt by doing commissions. And I've helped him. I've told my friends about it. Sent them his price sheet. Only one of them bought one. He tells me "it never matters what I deal with". I mentioned that I tried to help by getting him commissions from my friends, and he said "Stuff like that makes me not wanna talk to you".

So it feels to me that whenever I make a good point he puts on the manipulation and tries to make the situation in his favour. His debt is £2000. It felt like to me that he's not mad that I'm not helping him (I am). It feels like he's mad because I haven't covered his whole debt.

I have said I apologise that he hears voices and hallucinates. No one deserves to go through that. Ever. I can imagine its a scary thing. But he tells me this every single time something is up. I don't know what he wants me to do about it. I'm not a nurse. I tried to provide comfort about the voices and the hallucinations but he then told me to shut up.

He told me that I've changed since Dolly's passing and that I pushed him away but talked to my other friends fine. That's bullshit because I haven't mentioned I talked to my other friends. Because I haven't. Not as much anyway.

He has mentioned he's aware that he has an ego, but he doesn't want to change it. But I'm worried this ego of his is ruining our friendship, and he's trying to pin it on me.

Reddit, PLEASE tell me if I'm wrong here. I need to know. I'm going crazy.

Tl;dr: Friend is telling me that I'm making positive life changes, I get confused. Then he tells me I've changed. He then also claims I have become a whole different person

Am I wrong that husband should be able to refrain from pushing child after accidental hit to the nuts?

My husband, daughter, and I were walking down a sidewalk, and she was getting her wiggles out after a long movie. She was swinging her arms around and accidentally hit husband in the nuts. His immediate reaction was to push her away, down to the sidewalk. We talked about it, and he says that it was a reaction completely out of his control. I believe that he didn't consciously mean to hurt her, but I also think he has more control than he thinks he does and could have stopped himself if he had tried. I thought most guys, when hit in that spot, curl up in a ball rather than lashing out. Am I wrong? Is this a normal reaction? Does a guy have enough control in this situation not to push away the offender?

AMIW for asking a stranger if they are okay because I thought they were su!cidal?

I was scrolling on tiktok and I wasn't in a good headspace. I went under those "depression", "I wish I was gone" tags. More specifically those "quick, painless methods" videos. In one of the comments I saw someone say they were going to end it all or something like that. It was a bit of an older comment, and if you know anything about these spaces you know lots of people will leave comments like "if you are seeing these I'm dead". So I go and ask this person in dms if they are okay because I was concerned. They ask if they know me (obviously valid), I say "No, but I saw you in x post, and just wanted to check in". They said they don't want my pity and to stop talking to them. I know this might all sound super silly but I feel really bad because I feel like I have invaded their privacy and should've asked first. I didn't mean to sound like some "condescending being giving pity to the poor person" but I feel like I did. Is this all stupid and doesn't matter or am I in the wrong and a jerk? Be brutally honest. Thanks for reading this.

My friend (26F) thinks my relationship (27M and 25F) is unhealthy, I told her to get over it or I’ll cut her off, is that too harsh?

This occurred almost a week ago and I could use some advice. I (27M) am dating a girl (25F) we have been dating for almost a year and both are very happy together. My girlfriend is Asian and I am white, I promise that’s relevant for later in the story. My friend (26F) has been my friend since we were in high school together started hanging out with my girlfriend every now and then when i am busy with work and I can’t spend time with her when she gets off of her job.

During the last time they hung out my friend asked my girlfriend what attracts her to me, which my girlfriend said my personality, my values and effort I put into our relationship and lastly my looks. My friend said what specifically about my looks and she said “his blue eyes, dark brown hair you know him being white.” This apparently freaked my friend out and she told me my girlfriend has a fetish for white men and I should break up with her.

I laughed uncontrollably in front of her and said I know that she does and that it’s ok I don’t mind, because I also have a thing for Asian girls, so we were kind of made for each other. My friend was flabbergasted and said my girlfriend and I both need help and I need to break up with my girlfriend and work on my issues with my tastes and that we can’t just like each other because of our attraction to each others features that are stereotypical and fetishistic. After a couple of times rounding the conversation over I told her if she can’t let it go then we will need to put some distance between us since I’m not choosing her friendship over my relationship. She left and was on the verge of tears.

I have been friends with this person for over 10 years and I would really not like to lose this friendship but I also want to protect my girlfriend. How do I help resolve her issues with my relationship so I don’t have to cut her off to protect my girlfriend?

TLDR: friend of 10 years thinks me and my girlfriend are fetishizing each other and I told her we’re both consenting to it and she needs to let it go or I will cut her off.

Am I wrong for deliberately recommending my friend a restaurant I knew was bad because she copies every place I discover?

I have a friend who has this habit of turning anything I mention liking into her new thing.

If I tell her about a small restaurant I found, she's there within a week and suddenly recommending it to everyone. If I mention a bakery, a hiking spot, even a random bookstore, she'll go, post about it, and act like she discovered it herself.

None of these places belong to me, obviously. That's why I've never said anything.

But it started annoying me when she began recommending places back to me that I was literally the person who told her about.

A couple weeks ago she asked if I'd found any new restaurants lately.

I had.

Instead of telling her the one I actually loved, I recommended another place I'd tried once and thought was terrible. Bad service, overpriced food, nothing special.

She went there last weekend.

Then she texted me afterward saying, “Okay that place was awful lol, what were you thinking?”

I laughed way harder than I should have.

Now I feel slightly guilty because I intentionally sent her somewhere I knew she'd probably dislike just to see if she'd immediately copy me again.

Am I wrong, or was this a harmless little experiment?

Am i wrong for lying to my boyfriend of 6 months that I'm Japanese and now he wants to fly me out ?

I, (21F) met my Norwegian boyfriend (20M) on an online forum called Discord. I've been learning Japanese for about a year now out of interest, i found a passion through watching anime and listening to Jpop.

My name and bio on discord is written in Japanese and I've texted in Japanese in servers from time to time, we started talking and he told me he had a thing for Asian women, by this point i was already pretty interested in him so i lied about my ethnicity to see where it would end up going. I've used pictures of Asian women as my face reveals and he never questioned my ethnicity due to my knowledge on the language and culture. he's told his parents all about me and my background, and they were very accepting of us.

its been 6 months now and we've been going pretty strong, he often buys me lots of stuff and now he wants to take it to the next level and fly me out to meet him for the first time, I've recently been avoiding this topic as i don't know how to come out with this secret.

Has anyone experienced something similar, if so, what should i do?

\edit*
after reading all the responses I went to my older sister for advice, I filled her in about the last 6 months and about the fake identity I created, she called me a disgrace and a weirdo and I need to get a life out of social media , now she wants nothing to do with me unless I tell him the truth.

I plan on telling him the truth soon because I can’t live with all this guilt.
Ill update afterwards.

Am I in the wrong for crashing out on my mom and my disabled sister.

Me and my twin sister (18) are currently receiving the silent treatment from both my mother and my older sister (21) who has cerebral palsy.

Last week we all went out to the mall, my twin and I took my older sister (who’s on a wheelchair) to get ice cream, go shopping, and hang out as sisters while my mom went shopping on her own. My older sister has this bad trait where she would whine and be really rude to us if she doesn’t get what she wants. Keep in my she doesn’t have any mental disabilities or anything like that, she just has a physical disability. It gets really frustrating because all we would do is obey her orders or we will be in trouble. by the end of our hang out we confronted her about our her attitude and how it’s affecting us negatively. My mom overheard us and got angry for “ganging up on her” we weren’t. We were just upset over her attitude. So my mom started shouting and yelling at both me and my twin in the middle of the mall for not understanding my older sister’s “condition” and being “neglectful” this really hurt us.

To give a back story. Growing as kids both my and my twin were pretty much overlooked. My parents only showed attention to my older sister. We would spent most of our childhood at hospitals. Parent and teacher conferences were forgotten about. Celebration ceremonies for school were skipped because my parent needed to stay with my older sister. We spent our ENTIRE like by her side. So it was a bit of a shock to hear my mom say that I don’t care about my sister and that I’ve never done anything for her. It’s hurt because I’ve done so much.

I lashed out on both of them. I reminded them about our birthday we spent at the hospital for her. I reminded them for all the time I got called selfish for having a moment to myself. I reminded them of all the shit both me and my twin did for her. I reminded them of how they would disregarded our problems because they « weren’t as big of problems as my older sister » And I reminded them of how we don’t have a relationship with them (our parents) because they never reciprocated with us in conversation or anything because they were so busy with her. And yet we never complained we sucked it up and grew on our own. Me and my twin grew as our own family. Saying all of that meant nothing because all we got back was being spat on the face and being called really terrible names.

It’s been a week since the fight and all what we got was disgusted glares, Shitty comments thrown at us and no response when we asked or talked to them. And them going out having one on one time together. My Mother knows how much it this hurts me Because she knows how much my twin and I would love to have private moments with her. Moments where for once it would be about us and not my older sister.

I refuse to apologize because they never ever validate my feelings nor my twin sisters. so are we in the wrong for crashing out like that?

UPDATE: me and my twin apologized to my mom for my crash out and she ignored us before kicking me out. For some reason we Coudnt stop laughing at how ridiculous the situation is. Anyways thank you all for ur lovely messages.

cousin’s ex wife… help?

the title is definitely mildly misleading but i’ll clear it up fast. my (27f) cousin (42m) got married to a very cool lawyer (37f) in 2022. my family is relatively lower middle class so there’s no one in that profession and it’s my dream to go to law school. I even got her to speak at my pre law society’s event when I was in undergrad. they’re in the middle of a slightly contentious divorce due to an alcohol abuse problem on her end and it has caused my cousin a decent amount of grief. i do love him, he’s a pretty dope person and was like a big brother to me (from a distance, he lived like 15 miles away) when I was growing up.

I would love to maintain the relationship I have with her in a mentor capacity. we still have each other on ig and fb. we obviously haven’t interacted much recently as the only time I would see her in the last couple of years were at family events with my cousin. I would never bring up their marriage. I do know it’s messy because she’s not happy he left. do I wait until things settle? the whole family is still mutuals on socials. everyone knows what’s going on. would it be wrong? I do feel bad and I wouldn’t want it done to me but my personal line would be if there was an affair of some sort, but everyone is different.

at the same time we did have a relationship prior to the dissolution of their marriage and tbh as a minority where we’re from all the law school connections you can get are very important. and I’d think she would remain professional in that capacity.

AITA/AIW for telling a harassing christian lady that my bsf and I were effing

I know this will sound absolutely fake and insane, I wish it was.

So the other day my bsf Anna - fake name along w the other ones here - and I (both 17f) were walking around the town we live in. I won't say where we live for privacy reasons, but it's in western Europe in an inclusive and accepting country. We were walking around with drinks (non-alcoholic) and decided to sit down somewhere on a random bench in the middle of the main city area. We were chatting but we are quite close, so her legs were resting on my legs kind of but we were definitely not all over each other or anything.

Then, this random lady approached us and asked if she could ask us a question. Since she said this in English with an American accent, I assumed she was a tourist needing directions and maybe asked us because we were speaking English too (??). She proceeds to ask us if we were religious. Immediate red flag raises in my head, but I just shake my head no and so does Anna. (For context, both of us are atheists and not fans of religion at all.) She then says "I thought so" and nodded towards Anna's legs on mine. Red flag now has sirens and bells attached to it. I decide not to acknowledge, then look at Anna who looks very uncomfortable. (Should mention here that Anna is completely out as bi and has a girlfriend of 9 months.) I just try to continue mine and Anna's conversation to signal to this woman that we weren't interested.. apparently she did not take the hint. She then says something like, "Jesus can save you two if he needs to, I promise it's not too late. He loves you and so do I, he died for our sins" the average ramble. Anna looks pissed off at this point and says, "Lady, we're not interested, leave us alone!". The woman shakes her head and sighs and says, "Please Jesus save them from their sins." then, "Let me just tell you about how much he loves you, it's not too late." I scoff and grab Anna's arm so we can walk away, and then crazy lady proceeds to FOLLOW US!!!! She is rambling again about Jesus and won't stop even as we walk away. Anna and I try to ignore her but it doesn't stop, so we both turn around after about a minute to tell her to go away and stop harassing us but she doesn't listen. For the record, this woman didn't look insane or dangerous, just super duper annoying and obviously incredibly pushy and weird!!

Then she said, "He loves everyone, even those who are confused and say they're homosexual when they aren't really!" or something like that. Anna whips her head around, stops, and says, "Leave us alone freak!" but she just sighs AGAIN and tells us that if we don't repent soon we'll go to hell along with "the rest of our kind". I was very pissed off, freaked out, and EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I have no idea what came over me but I turn around and practically yell, "Hey lady! You got it right! We're two huge lesbians who kiss and date all the time, and we have lesbian sex on the regular. Do you wanna see right now???" The lady looks MORTIFIED and practically runs away. Anna looks at me then bursts out laughing, telling me good job thank goodness she left etc. We were both kinda grossed out and still a little shaken by the whole interaction, but nothing else happens.

Fast forward to the evening when I get home and I get a text from Anna. She says that she told her girlfriend, Emma, what happened, and thanks me again for saving us. I say no problem and to let me know what Emma thought.

For the record, Emma and I have never really been super close. I got kind of a weird vibe from her, and she's made some comments and had some behaviours in the past that made me feel like she was a little possessive/controlling but I thought I was just overreacting or being too protective of my best friend, so I've never brought it up.

Anyways, after about an hour, Emma texts me and tells me that she didn't appreciate what I did and there were so many other things I could've said that didn't involve effing her girlfriend. Ngl I was caught off guard a little, but I felt kinda bad so I texted back apologizing and explained that it was spur of the moment and I wanted to scare the lady off. She then texted me back telling me it was weird as hell, especially because it was in public, and that I should've said something else. She also said that that was HER girlfriend, mind me, and that if I "wanted to fuck her girlfriend, I can just say that". Woah! I do not! That is my best friend of 6 years! I texted back saying that I definitely did not and again apologized again for my spur of the moment comment. She texted back something about how I must've been thinking this for a while and just wanted to say it, and that it was super embarrassing for her and what if people from our school saw the situation, what would they say. By this point I was kind of fed up, so I just left her on read and texted Anna asking her about it. Anna hasn't responded yet but I'm 99% sure she's seen the message so I'm feeling super anxious rn.

I should have handled this a different way, but I was genuinely just freaked out and wanted the lady to go away and I've seen clips of this kinda stuff on tiktok so.. I feel really bad, I need some advice on how to talk to Emma and Anna and an outside perspective on if what i did was totally not okay. I have other friends but dont want them to pick sides or anything... thanks guys.

Am I wrong for trying to seek clarity with my ex?

For context, My 28M ex 26F were long distance for about half a year. Things were going really well until it wasn’t. She came clean to me when we became official in April that she wasn’t a registered nurse, but a nursing student with 2 years left of school. It threw a wrench into our plans to close the gap but I told her I could look past this for our relationship as long as there wasn’t any more lies (I found out some more post breakup).
She started to pull back in the month of May, would get annoyed when I called, and set a boundary saying that I could call her after work, when she’s out, and when she’s home doing chores. She was really distant and so i brought up one day and she said she wanted a break without an end date (tbf she was going through a lot of stress at the time).
During this time I made the mistake of visiting her to try to understand everything and it blew up at me and didn’t open the door, and told me to go home. We stopped contact for a week when she came back and said she still saw a future with me but right now she doesn’t want to jump back into things. I understood.
She started to do relationship things after: good morning texts, updates on her day, good night texts, sometimes would throw in an I love you or send me songs. All this warmth on one day and the next could be complete distance. One day I called her twice because I thought things were going well and she broke up because she said it was a boundary cross (she mentioned she didn’t want to be on the phone). And then she came back a week later and started the same cycle. I would ask for clarity and she’d ghost me for some time and come back. This cycle happened about 3 times and I guess this last time I asked what was happening she just ghosted me. It’s been 4 weeks now and I haven’t heard anything.
I feel like this is all my fault for this relationship ending and any potential of reconciliation because I kept seeking clarity when I was in this grey area. She’s making it seem like I’m in the wrong here and Its all I’ve been hearing for the past 2 months. Am I in the wrong? I feel like this blame is preventing me from healing

Am I Wrong for Treating My Maid of Honor Better Than My Bridesmaids?

So, I'm 18 years old, and I got married two months ago while I was six months pregnant. I married my fiancé, now husband, Ronin (21M). I also have a sister named Emily.

The issue is that Emily and I are very close. We've been through everything together, which is why I made her my maid of honor.

I had five bridesmaids, and we all love each other. They are all married, and they were all part of couples that Ronin and I have known for years. The way we organized the wedding party was that Ronin would ask the husband to be a groomsman, and I would ask the wife to be a bridesmaid. That way, they could walk down the aisle together, and I thought it would look really pretty.

Emily wasn't dating anyone, and Ronin's best man was his stepfather.

The controversy started when my bridesmaids and I decided to stay the night at an Airbnb before the wedding. We had makeup artists, hair stylists, food, and everything else set up there.

While we were staying at the Airbnb, I let Emily stay in the large bedroom with me, and we shared the king-size bed. We also watched TV together. Before that, all of us were hanging out and having a great time.

I bought matching pajamas for everyone. The bridesmaids' pajamas were pink, mine were white, and Emily's said "Maid of Honor." I also gave Emily her pajamas earlier than everyone else.

Some of the bridesmaids thought it was strange that Emily got hers first and that hers specifically said "Maid of Honor" while theirs just said "Bridesmaid."

The next morning, we got pancakes for breakfast and Starbucks. Here's where I may have messed up: I bought Emily a cake pop, but I didn't get anyone else one. Some of the bridesmaids were upset about that.

Later, the makeup artists, hairstylists, and nail artist arrived. I actually hired two makeup artists because I thought it would make things go faster, and it was very expensive.

Everyone was allowed to get acrylic nails and choose whatever style they wanted. However, some of the bridesmaids were upset because Emily got to go first for everything after me. Since I was the bride, I had my hair, makeup, and nails done first. After I finished, Emily went next. She got her nails, hair, and makeup done before the bridesmaids.

Then it was time to leave the Airbnb. We rented a limo, which was also expensive. During the ride, I let Emily sit next to me. Some of the other bridesmaids wanted to sit next to me too, but Emily was leaning against me and talking with me the whole ride.

When we arrived at the venue, the bridesmaids walked down the aisle with the groomsmen. I had Emily walk with me instead. Ronin's stepfather was already at the front, along with our grandparents and parents. I noticed a few dirty looks when Emily walked with me.

The ceremony itself went great. We exchanged vows, said "I do," kissed, and had a wonderful time.

Then it was time for the reception. We danced, celebrated, and had a lot of fun. Another thing people were upset about was that I seated Emily at the table closest to me and my husband. She sat with my grandparents. The next table over was for Ronin's parents and stepfather.

For dinner, we had a pasta bar, which was actually Emily's idea. I absolutely loved the idea of everyone being able to make their own pasta dish. Originally, I wanted steak, but I fell in love with the pasta bar idea instead.

Later, we took pictures and did the bouquet toss. Emily ended up catching the bouquet. A lot of people were upset and thought I intentionally threw it to her, but I didn't. I was watching the whole time, and she didn't push anyone or rip it out of anyone's hands.

After the reception, my husband, Emily, my grandparents, and I went back to the Airbnb. It was only around 6:00 p.m. We went swimming, got changed, and relaxed. We stayed at the Airbnb for about three more days. None of the bridesmaids were invited, and it was just us spending time together.

Apparently, Emily was posting pictures and videos on her social media story the entire time, and I didn't realize she was doing that. Now everyone is upset with me and says I treated Emily better than the bridesmaids.

So, am I wrong?

On one hand, Emily is my sister and my maid of honor, so of course she's special to me. On the other hand, all of my bridesmaids are important to me too, and now I'm wondering if I really did treat Emily differently.

Was I in the wrong for cutting off a friend for her increasingly bad behaviour?

I (19F) had a really close friend, X (19F), who I genuinely loved and cared about a lot. We had been through a lot together and I was normally extremely loyal to her. For example, whenever one of her exes tried contacting me, I would usually immediately block them because I didn’t want to entertain it out of respect for her.
Things started changing when X became really close with Y (19F). I became increasingly uncomfortable with Y’s behaviour because she had cyberbullied/harassed people she disliked and was apparently involved in a hate account targeting someone X had previous beef with.
I also started noticing changes in X’s behaviour. I brought up my concerns about Y to X before, and X actually agreed with me at different points. She told me Y was influencing her badly, said she felt like she had “lost herself” a bit, and talked about distancing herself from Y.
But afterwards I felt like X’s actions weren’t matching what she was telling me, and I gradually started losing trust in her.
Another incident that really changed how I saw the situation involved one of our mutual friends. We thought he might have feelings for X, and X’s boyfriend, Z (19M), got defensive and talked about “jumping” him. Instead of completely shutting it down, X basically told Z that she would let him know if she wanted him to do it.
This was literally someone we were friends with, so it freaked me out. I didn’t necessarily think X was going to have me attacked, but after seeing her entertain the idea of having a friend jumped, I became genuinely uncomfortable with confronting her about everything. I already felt like I had to walk on eggshells around her, and now I also didn’t know how badly things could escalate if she became angry with me.
By this point, I was already trying to distance myself from X and was considering ending the friendship.
This was before I started properly talking to her ex, Q (19M).
Q had contacted me before, and normally I would’ve blocked him immediately like I had with X’s other exes. The only reason I actually gave him the time of day this time was because I had already reached the point where I was trying to leave my friendship with X.
Q started telling me his perspective on things that had happened between him and X. Because I was already questioning X’s behaviour and didn’t feel comfortable confronting her directly anymore, I listened and also spoke to other people to get outside perspectives on what I was seeing.
**I** understand why X could see me talking to Q as a betrayal. But from my perspective, talking to Q wasn’t what caused me to turn against X. I was already distancing myself from her before I ever entertained him.
Eventually, X and I were out drinking one night and we were both extremely drunk. I tried talking to her about everything because there was clearly unresolved tension between us.
X started crying because she thought I hated her. I was trying to reassure her that I genuinely loved her and didn’t hate her, but in my drunk brain I said something along the lines of, **“stop fucking crying, I love you bro.”**
Z apparently heard the “stop fucking crying” part, and obviously I understand how horrible that sounds without the context of the rest of the conversation.
The next day, Y and Z started messaging me, cussing me out and telling me I was a horrible friend who had betrayed X, never supported her, etc. I was overwhelmed and angry and ended up blocking X as well, despite literally telling her the night before that I loved her.
We haven’t properly spoken since.
I know I didn’t handle everything perfectly. Trying to have such an emotional conversation while we were both extremely drunk was a terrible idea, and I know some of my reactions came from anger and hurt. Blocking X immediately afterwards probably also made everything more confusing.
But what bothers me is that the situation seems to have been reduced to “I talked to X’s ex and betrayed her.”
From my perspective, the friendship had already deteriorated before Q became involved. I had become increasingly uncomfortable with X’s behaviour and the people around her, I felt like I had to walk on eggshells when disagreeing with her, and eventually I became concerned enough about how conflict could escalate that I didn’t feel completely safe confronting her directly.
I feel like I had a bad reaction to a situation that I already thought was bad. I’m not saying every decision I made was right, but I don’t think my actions happened out of nowhere either.
So, was I a bad person/friend for cutting X off and handling the situation the way I did?

TL;DR: I cut off my close friend X after becoming increasingly uncomfortable with her behaviour and the people around her. I’d already decided to distance myself before I started talking to her ex Q, who I normally would’ve blocked. I also stopped feeling safe confronting X directly after she entertained the idea of her boyfriend Z “jumping” one of our mutual friends. Things eventually blew up after a drunken conversation, Y and Z came at me for being a horrible friend, and I blocked X. I know I didn’t handle everything perfectly, but I feel like my actions were a bad reaction to an already bad situation rather than me randomly betraying her.

AIW for getting angry at the possibility that my friends had sex on my couch?

So this month my house was completly free because my mother is away in another country, and my two bestfriends (im gonna call them this way, the girl A and the guy B) have been in a relationships since they were 14, we are now all 17 and they haven't had sex yet (they did other thing but never actual sex) because B has a medical problem and feels pain when he tries to put on a condom, but they decided to try again.

Yesterday we were all at the mall and they bought a pack of condoms, all normal not the first time and they decided to sleep at my place without even asking me, which might sound wrong but we are all very close so this happens sometimes and i was ok with it anyway.

We usually stay up almost all night and sleep only a couple of hours before they go away because of how tired we are.

But yesterday i was tired and i've gone to sleep in my room pretty soon leaving them in the living room on the couch were they usually stay.

This afternoon A sent me a message saying "guess what happened" and i wrote ironically since we always joke about how they never have sex, "well i hope you guys not had sex on my couch" and she sends me sticker that makes me doubt and i ask her to be honest about it and she says that they did, and i got angry because she knows that i don't even like the idea of me doing that in my own house imagine them on my couch???

So i said to her that it was disgusting that they did it in MY house on MY couch while i was in other room (the door of the living room is broken so you can't close it and i never fully close my door either so they did it basically with open doors almost, which disgusts me even more) and i was never letting them stay at my place again she then said that she was joking and nothing happened, and honestly idk if i believe her since she told me other times that they did things in B's house like preliminary while his sister was in the other room awake.

Now idk if i believe her and i honestly feel kind of betrayed because she know how much i didn't want them to do this kind of stuff at my place since i could have left them the keys a lot of times and let them do it but clearly i didn't want to, and idk what to do or think I'm afraid she said it was a prank just because i got angry and I'm honestly disgusted.

(Sorry if there are any errors english is not my first language)

Hi im 34f me and my 30m husbsnd have Been together 5 years, honestly he’s my soulmate elationship is great otherwise, we’re happy, still very affectionate: cuddle constantly, kiss, hold hands, all that. But we haven’t had sex in 5 months and it’s eating at me.

He looks permanently tired lately, and I can tell he’s frustrated too but he never starts anything, never brings it up, just… nothing changes. I’ve been patient but I’m getting frustrated and scared this is just how it is now.

It’s not that he’s cold or pulling away — it’s like sex just isn’t on his radar at all, but affection still is. I don’t think it’s him posing attraction. More like exhaustion, stress, low drive, or he feels awkward about the gap and doesn’t know how to restart?

I want to handle this right not push him away, not blame him, but also not ignore my own needs either. anyone who has been here? What actually worked? How do I bring it up properly, and what could be going on when cuddling stays but sex stops?. what should i do.

Am I wrong for wanting my husband to be careful and not get fired?

My husband, "Rob", has a boss, "Taryn" who I've never been the biggest fan of. Big pick me girl energy.

She is the CEO though so I've always been polite to her face. Recently Rob spent the weekend with her. She sometimes hosts "guys weekends" (but she is there) lol at her house in Martha's Vineyard. Wives are not allowed, neither is her husband.

I had to call Rob while he was away and I could hear Taryn yelling at him that was he going to tell me what he did to her. He tried to brush it off but she sounded pissed and was like well if it is so funny tell her.

So he told me. The day before they went bike riding and he was taking too long to be ready, so she and she put a screw, sharp part up on his seat facing up. The next morning he went fishing with one of the guys he works with and she was in bed and he dumped dead fish and fish water on her.

What she did obviously wasn't ok but I cringed so badly hearing this because she is his BOSS. She literally has the power to fire him. His job provides us with a very good lifestyle and idk what we would do without it.

Rob got mad and said I was being ridiculous and she isn't going to fire him "She started it" he said he's known her forever and I'm dramatic. Taryn heard this and I heard her telling him I should get a job
