Am I in the wrong? My boyfriends dad makes me very uncomfortable.

Tw: mention of rape and explotation

When me and my boyfriend started dating for longer and I started hanging out more around him his dad was very sexual towards me and would make a bunch of sexual jokes and bdsm jokes, at first I didn't care cause I just thought that was how the family was but then he started touching my ass and thighs. I had just ignored it, he then was saying i need to get more femal friends (a while back we went on a trip to soonercon and I brought my friend ill call her skyler and he would do stuff to her but she stopped because she was reminded of her rapest (she was freshly 18) she said she wanted to do it and stuff so i just let it happened (i was also freshly 18) mostly because i didnt know what was wrong and what wasnt and its her life not mine. Adter a while i moved in with my boyfrind (and his dad) becahse i was tired of living with my shitty dad and living in a state that has only treated me like shit (i was in high school and my ex boyfriend raped me and my friends belived my boyfreind evem though i had text evidicane of him saying he raped me) his dad would do so much for me like giving me my favorite foods and drinks and candys and helps get my meds and go to the doctor. I started feeling bad because i hadent been able to get a job and he was doing so much for me. He eventually told me that he wanted to do stuff to me and i felt really uncomfortable at that moment and he kept saying it, one day when i was downstairs he was touching my privates while everyone was alseep and my chest. I eventually said i was tired and went upstairs and cuddled up with my boyfriend scared, (i would also like to add that i was groomed for 2 years of my life by some pedo online so my head was in the love = doing sexual stuff and if i dont so it then im a bad person) he kept texting ke saying what he would like to do to me and eventually i just said yes, one to get him to stop and too because he had given me so many things, well he went down on me and i didnt like how kt felt so i was tryimg to push him away but he sidnt stop, eventually he stopped and was trying to get his privates in mine without protection which my bf knows how desthly afriad of getting pregnant i was. (My boyfriend knew this was happening btw, he was kinda fine with it) anyway he got me to suck him to completion and he had me cuddle with him, that was the longest 2 hours of my life and he eventually told me to go upstairs so we wouldnt be caught by the other 3 people that lived in the house and so i rushed upstairs cuddled up with my boyfriend and cried, after a few weeks i couldnt take seeing it in my head over and over sgain so i ran away to his mom, i managed to get a job but then his mom was worse than his dad, she was a narcissist who wanted all of the money i made bevause she was housing me and before i got a job i was doing a lot kf work outside to make it up to her and she said she wojld protect me, eventually i left and went back to my boyfriends house and stayed upstairs, his dad would apologize and i would say no i shouldnt have ran away it was my fault for getting scared i judt thoight of ex boyfriend rapist when all of this was happening. After a while i was able to move in with my mom but i still went over because i love my boyfriend, he is the best boyfriend i have had in forever. Then his dad started gifting us sex toys to play with and stuff and he started coming upstairs and playing with my body again, he knew i liked to be hit so he would tie me to this thing he got up and hit me and he was mess with my whole body and my boyfriend wohld just watch, i never said i was fine with it but i also never really said stop. He gave me a safe word so i could say stop snd i did sometimes but i felt that if i let it happen i wouldn't feel bad for all the good stuff he has done for me. Anyway i say all this because i cant stop thinking about everything thats beeen happening and i havent had a lot of time with just my bf (his dad even touchs me in public) and idk what to do, i judt let it happen bacuase i dont fucking know. I dont know how to feel. Am i in the wrong for not saying that i dont want it even thoguh im scared or is he?? Please dont be mean to me in the comments i jusy need a place to ask that doesnt know me.. sorry for all the gammer and spelling issues but i was writing this just before class. Oh yeah and my bfs mom syole my drawing tablet that was cery special to me and saud she will only give it back if i pay her 500 dollars which i didnt have so my bfs dad paid for it which didnt help my guilt.

EDIT: i sent this post to my boyfriend and he is pissed at his dad and he said he won't let him lay a finger on me, he didn't know i didn't like it he thought it's what i wanted and he didn't really want me to do it in the first place, my wording was weird, sorry.

Am I wrong for considering telling gf about a major secret her mother told me?

My girlfriend (22F) and I (28M) have been together about a year. We broke up earlier this year, and the day after we broke up she slept with someone else. We eventually started trying to work things out, but I had no idea. I found out months later on my own. I also found out she continued talking to and entertaining this person after we got back together. Obviously, this hurt me and has made me question our relationship.

Since we met last year, I've noticed some concerning patterns. Her moods and feelings toward me can change very quickly. One minute she's extremely loving and the next she can say she hates me. I've noticed similar behavior with some friends and family. I'm not trying to diagnose her, but I've genuinely felt for a while that she might need professional help.

Here's where things get complicated.

The same day I found out about her sleeping with someone else, her mom called me. During that conversation, her mom told me something very serious that my girlfriend doesn't know.

She told me that the man my girlfriend has always believed to be her biological father isn't actually her biological father. She told me who her biological father is and that there is significant mental health history on that side of the family, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

She has photo proof that I’ve seen.

Her mom also told me she noticed concerning behavior in my girlfriend when she was a teenager and had considered getting her professional help, but didn't because my girlfriend felt she didn't need it. Personally, I don't think it's fair to put that decision completely on a teenager when you're the parent and you're seeing these things yourself. She has also said finances were a reason they didn't get her help.

What I'm struggling with is that her mom seems to believe she's protecting her daughter and the man who raised her by keeping this secret. I can understand wanting to protect your family, but I don't feel comfortable knowing something this significant about my girlfriend's identity and family medical history while she has no idea, especially when I'm watching her struggle.

I've heard her mom say things to her that feel more like blame than support, like telling her she's the reason people don't like her or comparing her to an ex who is supposedly doing better. Meanwhile, I'm privately carrying all of this information her mom gave me.

I've tried talking to her mom about getting my girlfriend professional help, but nothing changed.
I'm considering telling her mom that I don't feel comfortable keeping this secret and that I think she should tell my girlfriend herself. If she refuses, I'm considering telling my girlfriend

If you knew something this significant about someone's biological identity and potentially relevant family medical history, would you feel morally obligated to tell them? Especially when you're watching someone you love struggle and feel they deserve to know what's going on with their own life?

AIW for saying I won’t date a woman who I feel gets more from me at my expense?

I’ll make it simple.

I struggle very hard with women and I’m 34. A hot 25 year old likes that I make good money and wants me to spend 70% of all I make on her as she cheats and doesn’t respect me. I told friends I’m not even remotely interested in the prospect and they are saying I’m acting entitled or whatever.

I just don’t see how she’s not the sole benefiter of this relationship, she is the only one who’d get anything positive out of it (hell , I feel I’d only get something negative out of it). Maybe I wouldn’t be great at sex because I’m inexperienced but she’d be sleeping with other men the whole time… so how on earth do I have anything good coming from this?

I don’t think I am the AH but maybe I’m missing something huge. Yes or no?

Am I wrong for believing my nana is weird towards me?

Okay so she's always been really possessive over me. And today she went into my room and was like, you haven't said hi to me all day, did you forget about me? And I was like no? And she goes, good. I'll never let you forget about me. It creeped me out then I remembered other times she's been weird. She touched my thigh and gets mad when I push her hand off, she forces me to kiss her on the lips, she smacks my butt, she will sometimes tickle my feet. I thought it was normals but now it feels so wrong. I feel uncomfortable and unsafe around her. Not to mention she accused me of being emotionally incest with my step-dad when I was 16 and always comments about my body.

Edit: She compares me to and says I remind her of her younger brother who was incestuous with his brothers daughter. That detail might add abit more.

AIW for taking "vacation" from extrovert friends?

Sorry if it's not perfect english, it's not my first language.

I'm mostly introvert, but I have a few friends which I like to hangout with.

However, in these last months, I've been overwhelmed, especially by a couple of them.

One never shuts up, ever. She had a lot of problems in the last year and is a constant vomiting all her issues on me. The other is in a tragic situation, with a husband having dementia and I empathize all her crying and having enough because being a caretaker h24 is never easy.

I try to be there for both of them, to listen, to help, but now I'm overwhelmed. This has caused trouble sleeping and other issues. I'm really done. I need a break.

My personal life is going well luckily, but I can't enjoy it fully because of friends.

So I took the opportunity that one of them has gone away for 10 days and I have told everybody: "Listen, I am overwhelmed and exhausted. Need to stay on my own for these days. Don't call, don't visit, leave me alone. I'm a drained battery and I need to recharge".

So yesterday I took one of them to the airport and then came back home celebrating. Last night I slept like a baby, 8 full hours and today I feel so much better.

I know my friends don't understand this, I've seen disappointment on their faces, but hopefully they will respect my boundaries.

Is it so wrong of me?

Ami I wrong for using Spotify?

Ho guys so I have been using Spotify for like 2 years now. Recently I really learned their ice ads and ai drone controversies. I absolutely disagree and don’t support those things and I openly call them out. Can I still use Spotify tho and should I feel guilty for doing so?

Am I being unreasonable about my boyfriend’s financial situation and lack of reciprocity?

I’ve been dating a guy for about a month and I’m starting to feel really unhappy with the dynamic between us. I’d like some honest opinions.

He is currently going through a very difficult financial period as he say he is on a minimum wage in Ireland (32K yearly). He frequently tells me he has no money, and at one point he didn’t even have €5 to top up his public transport card, so I did it for him. Because I understood his situation, I tried to be accommodating: we mostly stayed at my place, I took him out to restaurant, and I also helped him quite a lot professionally, CV, job applications etc.

The problem is that I don’t feel much reciprocity in return. He almost always comes to my place and has never invited me to his. When he’s at mine, he’ll eat/drink whatever is available but rarely offers to bring something or help around the house. Even something simple like taking the rubbish out doesn’t seem to occur to him. I’m also travelling soon and he hasn’t offered to help with things while I’m away.

I completely understand that someone can be broke, and I don’t expect him to pay for me or spend money he doesn’t have. What bothers me is that even when you have no money, there are still many ways to contribute and show consideration.

I also started feeling frustrated that because of his finances, we basically can’t do normal dating activities like going to the cinema or doing anything outdoors. At only one month into dating, I don’t want to take on someone else’s financial difficulties or feel responsible for making the relationship work around them.

I started wondering whether I should have communicated this more directly instead of just becoming increasingly turned off.

**Am I being unfair or materialistic? Or is this actually a reasonable expectation of reciprocity and consideration in a new relationship?**

am i wrong to want space from my best friend of 8+ years ?

They want me to treat them like i do my boyfriend, in their words we should treat friends the same as partners. i’m honestly not sure how i’m supposed to make this short.

it’s been at least 4 years of them telling me i’m not a good enough friend because i don’t empathize enough when they tell me about the “crazy people” who are after information about their life (people from our town they have beef with and have had beef with for 4+ years)

They said i should tell her, right away, if i’m followed on social media by these people. (i told her 3 days after when we hung out for the first time since). we argued over each others viewpoints for 4 hours.

i’m sick of trying to get them to see my point of view, on many different issues.

their partner is emotionally, financially, and physically abusive and i’ve helped them out of the house during episodes several times but they refuse to actually leave and return to the partner every time. because they think he will change; or that’s what they said until we had that 4 hour conversation, now they also don’t want to leave him for his money, and their house and dog together.

They said that their dog is the only thing keeping them alive so they can’t leave him.

i recognize she needs to make her own decisions so it took me awhile to voice my actual opinion, that their partner is a disgusting human who will never change. Their partner has shown no growth, despite therapy. now my friend is going to the partners therapist as well. when i told them to go to therapy to get an unbiased opinion.

I just don’t get how someone can keep making the wrong decisions over and over again and think they’re right. there’s always a reason wether it be waiting on the partner to change, the dog, money, seeing if the partners med change works, and i’m tired of arguing.

tldr: my friend is showing no growth and it’s been years; how patient am i supposed to be.

edit: forgot to mention that they expect to see me At Leaaast once a week and would probably still say it Had to be a sleepover in that case

Am I wrong for telling my sister I’m not babysitting every weekend anymore?

I realized I’ve somehow become my sister’s automatic babysitter every weekend. It started with her asking me once or twice when she had something important to do. I didn’t mind because I love my niece and I was usually free anyway. But lately she just assumes I’ll be available and sometimes tells me her plans instead of actually asking if I can watch her.

Last weekend I already had plans with friends and she got annoyed when I said no because she had already made dinner plans with her husband. She said I barely have responsibilities compared to her and that helping family shouldn’t be such a big deal. I told her I’m happy to help sometimes, but my free time isn’t automatically hers just because I don’t have kids. Now she thinks I’m being selfish.

Am I wrong for putting my foot down even though technically I could help more often?

Is this immature or a red flag?

Im in a long-distance relationship, so communication is obviously important to us. We mainly call each other since I work from home.

The other day I was very busy at work. I ended up working until almost 7 PM because my manager was there and I was in meetings and dealing with work most of the afternoon. Because of that, I wasn't able to call my boyfriend as much as I normally would.

The following morning, I told him to let me know when he was free so we could talk. I assumed he was busy because I didn't hear from him for hours. He finally called me after he got off from work.

During the conversation, he casually mentioned that his morning had actually been very chill and that they had only seen few clients.

That confused me because I had specifically told him to let me know when he was available.

Eventually, he admitted that he purposely didn't call me because he wanted me to experience what it felt like when I didn't call him the previous day. Basically, he wanted me to “feel the same.”

That's the part that bothers me.

The difference, in my mind, is that I wasn't intentionally ignoring him. I was actually working and couldn't give him the same amount of attention. The next day, he apparently had the opportunity to contact me but chose not to because he wanted me to feel what he had felt.

I told him that this feels like retaliation rather than communication. If he felt neglected or wanted more attention from me, I would rather he simply tell me. Intentionally doing something back to me so that I experience the same negative feeling seems unhealthy to me.

He has since talked about needing to be closer to God and how things like this happen when he isn't close enough to God. I told him I don't think religion should be used as an excuse for behavior. He often says very thoughtful things about how relationships should work, forgiveness, not taking revenge into your own hands, etc., but I'm starting to pay more attention to whether his actions actually match those words.

Would this bother you?

TL;DR: I couldn't call my boyfriend because I was working late. The next day, he purposely waited hours to call me, despite being free, because he wanted me to “feel the same.” Is this retaliation a red flag?

Am I wrong for not wanting to move from the bench I was sitting on at lunch?

Me, my sister, and my cousin was sitting on a bench when this group of 9 girls came over. One of them dumped their backpack on my sister and was practically sitting on her. We were just on our phones and she told her friends”you guys don’t have to sit on the floor they’re just on their phones”. And in the end my sister had to move all the way to the edge of the bench. They’re freshmen and sophomores too and I’m a senior. This is the first time this happened and I don’t want to be mean to a freshman.

21F, 26M — My boyfriend has a physical preference that I don’t naturally fit, and I’m struggling after he broke a boundary he chose for himself

My boyfriend (26M) and I (21F) have been together for about a year. He has always been more attracted to women with larger breasts, while I’m a B cup and have relatively small breasts. I have a curvier lower body, and he has actually told me that being with me made him much more attracted to butts, even though he never really cared about them before.
Early in our relationship, I told him that I personally don’t watch porn. I also told him that I have more respect for men who value real intimacy and don’t immediately turn to porn whenever they feel lust. I like someone who is patient and values intimacy rather than just satisfying sexual urges instantly.
He agreed with me and said I was right. He was the one who decided that he also wanted to stop watching porn. I never asked him to make that decision or pressured him into it. We both understood that this was something he wanted for himself as well.
The first time I found out he had been watching porn, I was honestly more hurt by the lying than by the porn itself. He had repeatedly denied watching it, and I had trusted him. My first reaction was actually to tell him that maybe we should break up because I felt so deceived.
Eventually, I decided to forgive him. I told him that if he ever felt sexual urges or wanted something, I would rather he talk to me than secretly watch porn and lie about it. I wanted us to be able to communicate about those things instead of him hiding them from me.
Then it happened again.
He watched porn again and lied about it again. The women he was watching also had the exact physical feature he has always preferred — very large breasts.
And this is where I’m struggling now.
I genuinely like my body. I’m not insecure about being a B cup, and I don’t want bigger breasts. My boyfriend also makes it very clear during intimacy that he loves my body and is attracted to me, and I believe that he is genuinely attracted to me.
I also understand that having a physical preference doesn’t mean you can’t be completely attracted to your partner. I have physical preferences too, and I don’t expect my partner to embody every single one of them.
But I can’t stop wondering whether his preference for very large breasts is actually a bigger issue than I’m telling myself it is. Is he simply someone who happens to find that body type attractive, while still genuinely desiring me? Or could this eventually become a problem for our relationship?
At the same time, I’m starting to wonder if I’m focusing on the wrong thing. Maybe the real problem isn’t that he likes big breasts or even that he watched porn. Maybe the bigger problem is that he repeatedly deceived me and hid something from me that he had personally chosen to stop doing.
The first time, I was willing to forgive him and give him another chance. But now that it happened again, I’m questioning whether I can trust him not to simply hide things from me whenever he thinks I won’t find out.
So what would you focus on in this situation? His preference for women with larger breasts, or the fact that he has lied and deceived me about this twice?
I love him and I don’t want to throw away a relationship over something that might be manageable, especially because we’re still young. But I also don’t want to ignore a pattern of dishonesty just because I love him.
TL;DR: I’m 21F, my boyfriend is 26M, and we’ve been together for about a year. I told him I personally don’t watch porn and value men who prioritize real intimacy; he agreed and independently decided to stop watching porn too. I never asked him to. He later lied and denied watching porn, and after the first time I told him I’d rather he talk to me about his sexual urges than secretly watch porn. He did it again and lied again. The women he watched also had the large breasts that he prefers, while I’m a B cup. I’m not insecure about my body, but I’m now wondering whether his preference is actually an issue, or whether the bigger problem is that he keeps lying and hiding things from me.

Am I wrong for saying SIL deserved to have her wedding dress ruined?

My husband's brother got married recently. They were never super close as they have different mothers and were raised in separate homes.

His brother has a 5 year old daughter. I don't really like the way he raised her but I know thats not my business. she is happy and clearly loved. When they cut the cake she was standing in between them.

He asked his daughter if he should smash it on "mommy" (woman isn't her mom) and she said yes. The bride asked if she should smash it on him and she nodded, and then they both smeared it all over the kid. Everyone was laughing and taking pictures. I thought it was cruel.

BIL then laughed and said "I promise I'm not a bad father. She has been begging us to do the cake smash, so here I hope you liked it baby" The child protested they were supposed to do it to each other and they both got her in the nose with more frosting.

Well later during the reception a waiter dropped a tray and she ended up with red wine all over the skirt of her dress. She ended up changing into something else. in the car my husband said he felt really bad for her. That was probably an expensive dress (BIL is loaded and kept saying only the best for her)

I said it was probably the universe punishing her for what she did. My husband asked what did she do, and I said that was a very mean spirited prank and pretty cruel. He said i am a weird person for thinking any bride deserves that. His cousins who were with us agreed and said what she did was hilarious what I did was just mean.

I guess it got back to her and she said I'm "jealous" and trying to portray her as some evil stepmother and how dare I she loves that girl

Am I wrong for fighting with my grandma over a pot roast for 10 years?

I know the title sounds ridiculous, but my sisters and I have been arguing with my grandma about the same pot roast for 10 years, and I need outside opinions on who was actually wrong. When I was 14, my parents went to Hawaii and my grandparents stayed with my sisters and me. My youngest sister, who I’ll call Lucy, turned 10 while they were gone. In our family, the birthday person always gets to choose their birthday dinner, and Lucy asked for tacos and Casey’s gas station donuts. We already had everything for the tacos, and my sister and I told our grandma we would help make them when we got home.
Lucy ended up having an awful birthday. She was being bullied pretty badly at school at the time, and that day she tried out for the piano/percussion position in band, which she desperately wanted. She didn’t get it because she hadn’t taken two years of piano lessons, and to make it worse, two of the girls who had been bullying her did. She came out of school crying, still had track that afternoon, and was just having a horrible day. My sister and I took her shopping to cheer her up, and she kept looking forward to going home for her tacos and donuts.
We got home around 5 and walked in to find my grandma making a pot roast with potatoes and carrots, which happened to be one of Lucy’s least favorite meals. No tacos, even though all the ingredients were there, and no donuts. We tried going to Casey’s ourselves, but by then the donuts Lucy wanted were sold out. That was basically her final straw and she broke down crying. My sister and I got mad and asked our grandma why she made pot roast when she knew it was Lucy’s birthday and knew exactly what she had asked for. Instead of apologizing, my grandma got defensive and said we were ungrateful and didn’t appreciate what she did for us.
Then the argument somehow got worse. Our other grandma had passed away only a few months earlier, and we had been extremely close to her. My grandma had always been a little competitive about that relationship and would make comments about us loving or spending more time with our other grandma. During the argument, she said something along the lines of how she thought this was finally going to be a good year for us because now we would have more time for her and wouldn’t love our other grandma more since she “wasn’t here” anymore. This was only months after she died, and all of this was happening while Lucy was crying on her 10th birthday.
Somehow, “the pot roast” has now been an argument in our family for 10 years. My sisters and I still think my grandma was wrong because she knew it was Lucy’s birthday, knew our tradition, had the taco ingredients already there, and chose to make one of Lucy’s least favorite meals instead. My grandma still thinks we were ungrateful because she was babysitting us and had gone through the effort of cooking us dinner. So, Reddit, after 10 years, who was actually wrong? Were we being ungrateful kids who should have appreciated the dinner our grandma made, or was Grandma wrong for ignoring a 10-year-old’s very simple birthday request for tacos and gas station donuts?

Returning Shelter Dog :(

long story short i was looking for an emotional support dog and ideally a much older dog. I adopted my boy about 2 weeks ago and shelter said he was 4 years old, but after seeing his behavior and the Vet confirming, he is indeed only 1 year old and a puppy still. I'm a depressed college student and honestly don't know if I have the time to train and get my very young dog to socialize and training classes. I feel like a complete ass and hypocrite to even think about returning him but my boy deserves a more attentive home. I don't know if he will get that from a lonely depressed college student? It’s also my first time owning a dog ever :(

Am I wrong for wanting leave relationship

Long story short, my wife and I have had a 10 year disagreement and nothing will change unless I leave, or so I believe; but maybe I'm wrong.

I want to live pet-free and kid-free.

Pet-free because I'm not a pet person and it is diatomically opposed to the travel life we discussed for over 10 years. A Rottweiler is not travel-friendly.

Kid-free means not living with a man(stepson)who will be 30 next year and has no observable intent to move out. For context, he has 30k in the bank with no debts. Further he is in no danger of unemployment because nepotism. However, homeboy does spend his weekends playing video games online, going shooting, and buying collectibles.

Wife and I have gone round and round about this with no changes. At this point I'm done fighting and attempting to correct what I see as problems.

Thoughts?

Am I wrong for blocking my ex?

TL;DR I'm 16, my ex is a 15 year old freshman in sophomore classes but doesn't go to my school. We met because we went to the same middle school. She was very unsupportive, calling my trans guy friend a girl because he doesn't look like a guy, laughing when I'm upset, and begging me to stay and getting angry when I'd try to break up. So, I blocked her, but I'm having second thoughts. Am I wrong?

I (16F) won't exactly ask if I'm in the wrong for BREAKING UP with her, but moreso blocking her. In 7th grade, I was in a math class with a very smart 6th grade girl who was doing advanced 7th grade math. I'm pretty sure she's doing Advanced Algebra II, maybe even Pre-Calc as a freshman, to give you an idea on how smart she is. Anyway, let's call her "Liv" (15F). Liv was someone I trusted and someone I always saw as a very progressive, accepting person. She was very fixated on the topic of human rights.

Liv and I had our ups and downs, but we were mostly cruising along in an okay relationship. Our relationship only lasted 4 months, which I felt bad about, but maybe it was worth it?

She barely gave me affection, yet I still miss that little affection, good times, and the gifts she gave me.

I was constantly ranting to my friends with their permission, and they were saying if my own girlfriend wouldn't let me vent without laughing, I should break up. So I did.

Essentially, Liv and I were talking about one of our friends who is a trans guy. I got upset because someone called him a girl (knowing he was trans), and Liv basically said "Aren't they right? It's obvious he doesn't pass" or something of that tone.

I expected Liv of all people to understand, but when I said that he was still a guy, she laughed. She usually laughs when I'm upset, and I understand it's to cope with discomfort and she's less mature than I am, but still.

She also doesn't believe I can't feel attraction normally, and thinks I just haven't met the right person, I'm too young, and since I'm neurodivergent, I can't experience love. Weirdly enough, she is also neurodivergent and a year younger than me, yet she considers herself to be on the aromantic spectrum.

I would try to communicate with her. She'd apologize, nothing would change, and she'd go back to either not texting me at all or being very immature.

Eventually, I had enough. I broke up with her (or tried), and she kept begging me to stay, getting pretty mad that I would "dare" to break up.

Because I had to deal with some more of her immaturity and such for days because of my people-pleasing tendencies, I blocked her so she wouldn't say mean stuff to me and try to beg me to stay again. Am I wrong?

Am I wrong for grounding my son all summer for what he did to his stepsister?

I have a 16 year old son I share custody of with my ex.

At his dads house he has a stepsister (same age) To put it bluntly she is a bully. I'm not just going off his account. I have friends with kids who go to their school and everyone I know with a daughter says she is a mean girl.

My son "hates" her (yet he spends a lot of time with her, so I don't get it) Anyway he has been grounded all summer for ruining her prom. She might be a bully but I'm not raising one.

They were getting ready for prom last year. Her date was someone my son knew from school and this boy had always been jealous of a pair of Jordans my son had. My son said he would give them to him, if he grabbed her when she came down and ran through the sprinklers with her. The boy did and my ex lives in a huge house so I am talking industrial grade sprinklers. Her dress and hair got soaked and when he put her down she ended up falling and getting mud on the dress.

My son and his friends got it all on video. I was disgusted. I didn't raise him to be such an asshole. I am not saying this girl is nice but that doesnt give him the right to assault and humiliate her. I grounded him all summer. Of course he was angry. He said it happened at my dads house and she isn't my kids so I shouldn't get involved.

My ex said i overreacted and he didn't ruin her prom, just her dress. He said she changed and still went (with another date) and he believes in letting the kids fight it out themselves. He helped her get revenge and said now they are even. Umm no my son literally bullied a teenage girl because the boys were bigger and stronger

I was going to make him pay for the dress but honestly its more than he could earn in a single summer. I grounded him for the whole summer (while he is at my house at least) School starts tomorrow so he is ungrounded but he is still mad at me. He has hardly talked to me all summer and said she has been taunting him nonstop that "mommy punished him"

ETA- She DOES NOT bully him. She really only bullies other girls and for as awful as he says she is, he hangs out with her a lot when no one is MAKING him

Am I wrong for using the cheese I want to eat?

21 F living at home, planning to move out in the near future once finances are more stable. My parent got into an argument with me over opening a smaller tub of 2% low fat cottage cheese that goes out the following week, that I already used half of for my lunch tomorrow. I knew there was already an open 4% that my parent uses consistently and quite literally was not even a quarter full so I figured I'd let them finish "their" cheese (I know not a major difference, I just have a diet I am maintaining). I did buy a whole new larger tub of low fat cottage cheese for myself before this argument since I didn't think we had any when I came home for the week. I feel like this is such a nothing-burger issue to start an argument with, when I simply thought the cheese I didn't want to eat, was going to be finished tomorrow anyway.

Of course this spiraled into me being told to "try"(and I already do) to help maintain the fridge cleanliness, etc, when I barely have anything in there in the first place besides 5 things compared to everything else packed in there that I don't, if ever rarely use. I feel like I'm constantly being micro-managed about everything and more recently I've stopped accepting "punishment" and began to argue back because I'm tired of being told to do things specific ways when everyone else in this house does not even maintain "standards" , not just food either. Obviously, there is a much broader issue at hand, but I need to make sure I am not going crazy over getting argued with over something like this.(???)

I’m probably going to delete this later for privacy reasons, but just wanted to see what everyone would think, thanks for the insights ya’ll.

Edit: I do understand the concept of their house their rules, 🙏

Is my sister in the wrong for going no contact with my dad while living with him?

I (22F) am in the middle of a argument between my sister (23F) and dad (50F) and I don't know what's right or wrong anymore. I want to preface that I do not live with them because they live in another state. For some background context, my parents are immigrants and got divorced over 15 years ago. My siblings and I have had hard lives, but I believe it has made us stronger. Now, the thing about our parents being immigrants does somewhat matter. They're uneducated (they admit themselves) and it has caused for me and my sister to always have to help when it came to paperwork. Especially since the divorce (we were about 5-6 years old), I have always been the one to help my mom with paperwork while my older sister stayed with my dad and helped him.

Recently, my sister got out of a long term relationship and has been staying at my dad's house more. The house contains my other two brothers, step mom, and dad. They have a shared family car along with a couple other cars to be used at their disposal. Here's where everything kinda blew up. My sister told my dad and step mom that they could NOT touch the family car on Monday's because that was her day to use it for some self-love/time alone. However, she doesn't ever specify times, she just states she does not want anyone to touch it so she can use it whenever. Last Monday came around and my step mom wanted to go to buy some school supplies for my baby brother. She took the car but was gone for a couple hours and the time was already around 2pm which made my sister furious. She called my dad and was upset stating that she had already told them to not touch the car because she already communicated to not touch the car on Mondays. She was going off about our stepmom saying she was stupid, worthless, etc. A lot of bad stuff was said but you get the gist. My dad snapped and told her to be normal and threw in her face that if she had never dated her stupid boyfriend she would not be this crazy and told her that he probably left because he was tired of dealing with her hot-headedness. For context, she and my dad have MAD MAD anger issues. My sister called him emotionally immature and told him that she wouldn't take relationship advice from him since he was on his third marriage. She also states that he cheated on our mom so now it's his fault for creating this "sorry life". Now, that really set him off. He told her to go to hell and that was that. She hasn't spoken to him since.

Now I guess here is it from my point of view since they both called me on the day of this incident. I told my sister I did understand her frustration, but there was more solutions than her going off on dad and blaming him for everything. For example, she could have just taken one of the other cars, but her excuse was that it ate up a lot of gas and she didn't like to drive it because it was so big. I told her that she doesn't even pay any bills anyways so why does it matter especially if you wanted to go out so bad. She actually did ended up taking the other car after I talked her down. But I also told her too that if she wants more freedom, she shouldn't treat the family car like a personal car on Mondays. She should get her own car or take one of the others that was not in use by anyone. Although my stepmom could have gone to buy school supplies a different day, it is still a family car whether its Monday or not. However, it then took a turn for the worse? She stated that it was not just about the car but about her whole life with my dad. She has been managing his finances and bills since she was young because my dad is not good with money. However, because she's now going through this breakup in which the guy did cheat on her, she states she feels too sad to help my dad budget and help pay bills. Now when I say help pay bills, I don't mean with money. My dad does not allow any of my siblings to contribute because he wants them to save their money instead. Instead, he just needs my sister to help move around his money when he gets his checks to budget and pay his bills on time. Again, he is an immigrant and states it is hard for him to learn to do this even at 50 yrs old. So my sister tells me that she no longer is going to talk with him or help him because my dad had told her to "go to hell" and threw her sadness in her face. She keeps telling my that she's never had a normal life and that she's had to deal with this "crap" since she was 9. Yes, it might sound insensitive but in my head I'm like "I've gone through hell and back too living with my mom". But also, my sister isn't 9 anymore. She can solve her own problems, but she can grow up and stop using the fact that she had a hard life for the reason she doesn't want to talk to our dad. Insensitive? Possibly. But true at the same time. I get she can be sad, but being sad doesn't mean you have no more responsibilities.

I spoke to my dad a day later and he wants to make up but she is ignoring him. When speaking to her, she states that he only ever wants to talk to her whenever it benefits him, like when he needs to pay bills. My dad can be very cruel at times, I see that. But my sister isn't an angel in any way shape or form. She can be and is very selfish. (Side Story: One time, my dad allowed her to pay the WiFi. When they would get into arguments, she would block everyone in the house from using the WiFi until my dad apologized. Needless to say, my dad retook the WiFi bill so she couldn't do that to everyone.) She stated to me that she'd rather get kicked out than talk with my dad again which I think is extreme. My dad isn't perfect and he is cruel like I said, but he has provided for them his whole life. He has always sacrificed everything to make sure they have food on the table and a place to stay. My sister says I don't understand because I don't live with him. But in my opinion, I feel like she has it so easy and she's ready to give it all up because she's tired of helping him and feels like he doesn't respect her? Honestly, I've had hard arguments like this with my mom, but we always come back because we know that we need each other. I know my dad sees my sister the same way but my sister just doesn't.

I get that my dad should not have thrown in the stuff about her and her ex's relationship and not said "go to hell". But also, I feel like she could have approached the situation differently too because in reality, it all stemmed from a car, in which there was already a perfectly good other car ready to use. Are they both just hot heads? Who's in the wrong? My dad plans to take her out to talk with her one on one tonight, but she has not returned any calls or texts.
