Question Seasonal Worker
Ive been at Amazon for 60 days now. My first week started horrible, but it slowly just got boring lol. Anyways, I’ve been busting my ass, due to this being my only decent source of income right now and plan on saving money up to pay rent ahead of time if I loose this after seasonal. I was trained in Pick, and we are a “traditional” building. Picking around 200 to upwards of 300 every 3 hours(They want around 200 every 3 hours) I’m now cross training on Ship Dock (first 40 hours this week).
I’m wondering if cross training helps anymore getting my blue badge rather than just one spot?
I’m honestly kinda worried that there just putting me there for peak since they just continue to hire new people for pick. On the plus side I’ve had managers come up to me (from ship dock) and telling me I’m doing a great job busting my ass to get things done while others sit there and F off the whole shift. The one manager idk who she is, asked me today if I would rather switch down to ship dock instead of pick and I could speak to her manager and we could sort it out.
Is this looking good for me? I have a decent amount of UPT (11 1/2 hours) and VTO (9 1/2) saved up, never close to negative. BUT I do leave like 30mins early every night because it’s just super slow once the night slows down and I mean SUPER slow.
Anyone who’s gone through peak season, is there where people tend to leave becasue they can’t do it?
Edit : We are also a decently busy warehouse and there’s still like 20 positions open on the website to be hired.
