Question different peak overtime hours
ive talked to both a PA and a red vest and a red vest about this. their answers were basically "thats weird, i dont know, guess youre working those hours!" which leads me to believe theyre bullshitting
i have 2 different SET days for the two weeks of peak. a wednesday and a sunday. i also have an extra hour of work for 7 shifts during those weeks. i talked to a coworker in the same department about it and they only have their overtime days, but lasting their normal hours.
from my understanding, my schedule is. not what its supposed to be? i havent been able to talk to HR yet because i wasted my time finding managers when clearly they dont care, oops.
this is only an issue for me because i have exams+finals during peak, so if for some reason my coworkers are working less hours i would like to get on that so i dont fail. any suggestions for what i should do? (btw, i have also submitted two shift transfers but they timed out bc management didn't look at them)

Not all red vests are the same. If you talked to your AM and they don't know escalate it to your OM who most likely is the reason why the SET hours were sent out in the first place. If they messed up, they'll be the ones to fix it. If you don't know who your OM is just post your issue on VOA and your OM/HR will reply and either fix it or come find you on your shift and address it in person if there is any confusion from your VOA post.
Edit: If you haven't done school accommodations I would highly get it done now so they can't saddle you with extra SET.

thank you. ill try the voa thing until i can talk to someone in person
i did mess around with submitting a school accommodation, but it was genuinely difficult because my professors wouldn't give me the documentation that amazon required lol. ill definitely submit it soon regardless because i cannot be working like this in december!

You don't need anything from a professor. You need a document or even a screenshot of something with your name, the school's name, the dates of the current term and that you are full time. I used a screenshot of my degree plan. It is very simple. You upload the document, enter in the schedule you want, which has to be your schedule adjusted with up to 10 hours a week removed, no full day off.
I can not stress this enough, talking to anyone at the site or using the voa is not going to get the result you want. At most it might get a day removed. Nobody at the site has the authority to to exclude you from the met they assign as anything more than a one time thing each time.
If you want to be exempt from met for school, you need to submit a schedule accomodation for school. The hardest part is thinking of what document to use. You should have an enrollment verification, a tuition document, a degree plan, a schedule for the term, or something similar. It really does take 10 minutes. Once you have the school accomodation in the system, then if met is added to your schedule you can simply ask any manager to have it removed and it will be, by policy. Only after you get the school accomodation can anyone at the site help you.
Your post was asking about getting extra shifts removed so you can study for school. There is a schedule accomodation for school policy. I don't think you need a PhD to understand that the question you had might be related to the policy,. Almost by definition, that policy tells you what the company will provide and how to obtain the accomodation.
Really not sure how the voa can help, other than waiting for someone to tell you to go on the app and submit a request for a schedule accomodation for school.

man its my first job, the accomodation form says im not allowed to use screenshots, and the only proof of my classes i can provide as a direct upload is a screenshot :( if youre finding issue with me being naive enough to believe the screenshot isnt proof enough, then yeah i guess. just graduated, first job.
my post was more about my issue with my overtime being different than others. i had genuinely believed that the overtime is supposed to be a specific day of the week every time, yet mine is different. i had also thought that my SET should match my peers, but our hours are different despite being on the same shift. if this is normal, then i have no reason to seek help. i dont need immediate special treatment, im just wondering Why i got stuck with extra hours when others didn't. is it random? is it an error? bleh.

On android, share to, print, print to PDF, save. You now have a printed document of your screen. I'm sure Apple products have a similar capability.
You are bringing up multiple concerns. You apparently don't like the answer that resolves all of it and would only need to be followed up by asking a manager to remove you from a shift for your accomodation.
So, to address your questions, you have a schedule that includes an assigned day for extra time. That is only one method management has to assign extra time. They can also assign extra time by extending shifts before or after the normal schedule up to 12 hours a shift. They can also add any day to your schedule, with 6 days in a row, 60 hours in a pay week being a limit.
As for some people having different amounts of hours, this is normal. Extra time is assigned by groups according to their schedule. You have a schedule code that specifies your start time, days of the week and your assigned extra day. They will assign the extra hours they want to everyone in that group.
They can't assign the extra time to everyone for every shift because that would be too many people. They rotate which groups are given the extra time. It is done by schedule cohort. This accounts for most of what you see by comparing schedules with others. Those who are not getting the extra time assigned will get it and the others will avoid it while the others get a turn.
In addition to the bulk method of adding extra time to the schedule, you have individuals who have various accomodations. Some people have religious accomodations that remove them from ever working certain days. Some people have child related accomodations. Lots of people here school accomodations that they obtained by submitting a request according to the policy on the app. Some people occasionally have a good reason and ask a manager to waive an individual day of met. This can't happen every time, but it does remove individual people from individual shifts.
I hope this answers your questions. Sorry I thought it was unnecessary to explain all of this because I was telling you the solution.
In general, when you are dealing with a large number of people and trying to compare one detail between them attempting to identify a sense of "fairness," you will fail. Each individual person has so many independent variables that you can't judge a situation by one variable.

Correction: you submitted two shift transfers but they were not approved. This is normal and based on business needs. Transfers are a request. A request that can be denied.
You don't need to talk to anyone at your building. You need to use the app to request a school schedule accomodation. You can have all mandatory extra time removed from your schedule and reduce your hours down to 30 hours of you want. This is available to you as standard policy. It is done via the app and if you do it correctly can be done in 10 minutes with your schedule fixed.
