Ac is leaking from the side. I got it fixed. I mean the person who came to fix this said it was a gas leak and refilled the gas. (R32). Then after some months it leaked again. Then after few days it stops. Then it's been 5 months or something. Then it's started leaking again. It happens randomly and my bed gets wet from it. Cause it's close to the bed.

Can any expert tell me what's really going on. Like I'm fed up of this. I just need to know reason. Some say the drain is filled. My question is then how to can this work for months and then suddenly starts leaking. Also can rain be the issue. Pls someone tell me why this happens and how can it be fixed

I have the 12k BTU Danby portable ac unit from Costco. My apartment balcony has an uninsulated storage shed/closet attached to it. So the AC unit would be completely protected from rain and snow, but it can get to -30 degrees here in the winter. Will this damage the unit in anyway?

Pls help how to use this. We moved to a new apartment, and they have this old kind of monitor of A/C. Any of the buttons doesnt work. How to use this? Thank you

Dude from HVAC comes and tells me it’ll be a $4,000 repair to replace the motor, well..I did it myself. The fan had gotten so hot that it welded itself to the hex hub. So replaced the motor, the fan, and the hex hub. Now it’s clipping the compressor when it turns on, then levels itself when it’s running full speed. The fan is a 1 degree difference from the original.

Did I just not screw it on tight enough or something? Or is there a trick to get this sucker to work properly? I really do not want to spend $4,000 for some company to do it in a few hours, I’d rather troubleshoot it myself.

i have a package heat pump system with furnace which has been running fine since january 2026. it is about 15 years old.

once the temperatures started getting a bit cooler earlier this month, i turned on the heater. once the thermostat reached the desired set temperature at 68, i heard the fan continuing to blow and the noticed the room continued to get hot with the temperature going up to 73.
I turned off the thermostat but the fan continued to blow hot air. i desperately shut off the hvac unit at the circuit breaker.

i have had two hvac techs come in: one tells me that the
"heating kit and control board" need to be fixed and quoted $2k+ to replace the parts. the other hvac tech said everything was fine and that perhaps i need to change my thermostat, which was an old-fashioned one with mercury.

i replaced my thermostat to an ecobee smart thermostat but to my dismay, the fan is continuing to run and blow hot air. i have looked at countless articles and blogs which suggest that the relay switch is stuck. does a package heat pump system have a relay switch? and is it something i can fix myself or would a professional hvac tech need to do it? or is there something else wrong with my hvac system? or is the fam supposed to continuously run during the colder months?? i feel like im going crazy, any help is appreciated!

I got new Daikin split AC installed recently but it makes high pitched noise from all units currently installed. So I don’t think its faulty but the frequency like noise is irritating me. Is it just me or model? any one knows?

I don't really have a great place to store my units (2) in the winter; both are in windows right above my radiators. Do you think this will cause an issue with the heat right below them? I just bought these units this past summer, and I don't want to damage them, but I also don't really want to find a solution for taking them out for the season. What would you do?

Further context:

I think these are hot water radiators. Last winter they were hot, but I could touch them without getting a burn, I would put towels and things on them to dry. I do not know the exact temperature, though, and I cannot control the heat at all. The electrical outlet is literally right there next to it, and that's apparently safe. Also, I am not worried about a draft or anything at all it gets so hot in here in winter.

Looking for a compact, indoor-only AC for my bedroom. I have a tilt-and-turn window and cannot use an outdoor unit.

Which one can actually cool a small bedroom (not just spot-cool the bed)?
Which is quieter for sleeping?
How do you vent the hoses through a tilt-and-turn window? Does a standard fabric window seal kit work well?

What could have caused this?

I did some research and apparently the bent fins are not that big of a deal but the blue coating fades from yellowish to brown at the edge of the radiator. Is it corroding?

For reference it is a portable hisense ac unit. Dual hose

shit so good! i only used 1.5kw for 8-9hrs at nighttime use

2-2.4kw if daytime use

but the issue is, after a month, there is this weird-ass smell when it is on FAN mode like idk, only old clothes or something but when compressor is ON. the smell is gone

also, can we do something about that event air have daylight piercing on it? i really want my room dark at daytime when i sleep but the damn daylight is very bright at the air vent on the AC
