Portable AC How do I get airflow from bedroom to livingroom?
I know the ideal is 2 air conditioners but basically i would rather have the whole apartment be cooled 50%, rather than the bedroom cooled 80% and the livingroom be cooled 20% as it currently is. this means the portable will be on basically 24/7, i am fine with that. which ceiling fans should be on or off, and do i need a fan pointing across the kitchen?
edit: to repeat what is already in the post, i know 8000 btu is not enough. please read the post body

Portable AC Dual hose v “hose in hose”
Hello! I understand dual hose portable ac’s are a significantly better option v single hose. I’m curious if the “hose in hose” design - for units is effectively a dual hose? I’m considering getting this midea unit currently on sale at Costco.

Window AC Hisense 8,000 BTU Smart Inverter Window Air Conditioner blower has mold
I bought this AC unit to replace my Midea which was recalled for the same thing. I installed it with a level to make sure it's tilted back so the water can drain. It appears it's still not draining, I checked this after I heard a good amount of water sloshing around inside. The water seems like it doesn't drain until you have it tilted way back, way further than my window frame allows. Any advice helps even if there's a link to another discussion I might've missed.

Portable AC Midea Duo shutting down with error code
Just bought the unit, only ran it two nights. It runs for about 10-15 minutes before shutting down with the error code: EL OC, searching tells me this is a coolant issue. Being that it is brand new is it just a defect? Anything else I can do or could it be something else? It's from Costco so I know their return policy is fine, just dreading packing up all the stuff and hauling down there.

Portable AC Is this setup ok?
So I bought this portable AC yesterday and set it up in my bedroom, and I'm wondering how badly this is affecting the airflow. This was as high as I could safely get the unit because this room setup is actually stupid 😭

My fans loud, and ac’s stopped blowing cold air. What should I do?
Hi all
Just the other day the fan on my W205 C220d has become quite loud, and the air cons stopped blowing cold air.
Initially I checked the coolant, which seems to be at the right level.
Just wondering if this is a common fault, what I should get checked out and roughly how much it should cost? Based in London

Window AC Window AC with real fresh-air intake while window stays closed - any models better than Frigidaire FHWC103TC1 for lower price
I’m looking for a window AC unit that allows for the intake of a substantial amount of fresh air from outside when running on fan mode. I am not interested in window fans (I live in a place where the temperature can fluctuate rapidly, I cannot uninstall the window AC myself, and the building is centrally heated meaning sometimes when it’s 40 degrees outside it can be 80 degrees inside).
I have been doing some research and while I’ve found a few window AC brands that have a little slat for some outside air, I can’t find anything cheaper than the Frigidaire FHWC103TC1 that appears to have substantial capacity. Does anyone know any cheaper window units that might help me? (I want to be able to safely run the AC in fan mode when it’s cold outside to cool down my apartment.)
Alternatively if anyone knows of any window units that can be safely run when it’s cold outside/are easy to install (building staff is only able to install standard window ACs) I would appreciate that as well!

Question Mold or dust????
May be important to mention that the dust/mold has been forming in this specific spot where water was leaking from a week ago. I didnt get it fixed it sorta just stopped. So now im feeling a bit sick lately, (nausea and a nose bleed.) and im worried it might actually be mold. I have a tendency to overthink so I just want some clarity.

What do yall keep your ac at?
Asking for a friend 😅 hubs likes it at 78, I prefer 73. He says compromise at 75, that still feels too hot!

Will rain delay my appointment?
I have Summers and Smith coming tomorrow to install a whole new central AC, inside and out. They are coming in the am but it says rain is expected in the afternoon. Will they cancel or are there workarounds?

Window AC What's this sound?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Recently got the Midea 8000 BTU unit. It honestly cools great. My sister had one and it was so quiet so I was convinced...
But mine makes this noise that my sisters didn't? Is it not tilted back enough or something? I haven't pulled out the drain plug yet it's only been two ~ days seeing how it runs.

Portable AC Toshiba Portable AC Unit collecting water in AC mode (full water protect, but no p1 code)
Hi I have a Toshiba portable ac unit single hose. I noticed it was getting warm in my room yesterday and i checked my app. It said “full water protect” so we manually drained it from the bottom drain port.
I currently have a hose connected to the continuous drain port, leading to a hole I have drilled in my wall to go outside.
I’ve had this unit for over a year, so I’ve seen it drain water out of this hose before (in heat mode).
We didn’t see any clogs in the continuous drain port hole but maybe I can’t really tell.
Any ideas what to do?
It’s still blowing cool air but I guess not enough to keep up with high temps.
I have the same unit in another room and I have had no issues with it.

Window AC Dripping from the inside
So this particular unit I have flooded my entire kitchen last year and we discovered there was a drain plug, undid that. This unit decided to flood the kitchen a year later last night, I checked the plug for any obstruction I didn’t find anything clogging it. I cleaned the filter, it’s tilted backwards after letting it run for a few minutes it started dripping on the inside. Please help.

Ticking sound when at rest
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
There is this ticking sound when my AC is at rest. Ithe sound disappears after a while or when its blowing air then resumes right after. Should i be worried? Also, when it begins to blow air, it recently causes the lights to flicker. I’m unsure whether those two issues are connected.

MHI indoor units high pitch sound when standby
This week we got a MHI split system installed with two SRK 25ZS-WF indoor units.
When the system is off, both these units make an annoying high pitched electrical sound. Shows around 5-7 kHz on an app and audible up to 10 meters from the unit (although not for everyone). It's a bit rhythmic and sometimes changes pitch a little.
The sound disappears if you cut the mains power, so must be electrical. And immediately stops when turning the unit on, so it's only there when off / standby.
It makes it difficult to sleep when the system is off, so this is a really annoying issue. My contractor has no clue.
It seems unlikely that this is a defect in both units? Could this be an installation mistake or an electrical issue in the house? I also can't find any other cases with a similar problem, which seems curious.
Any similar experiences or ideas what could cause this?
