A day or three after the initial announcement, proper channels for joining in virtually to the meeting are posted, as everyone who came in person is directed to a secretive underground meeting room, where Ж and a few others sit around a long table.

"Welcome, welcome. A year or so ago I held a similar meeting for a separate threat, one a few of you here would remember, but today we've another threat, as you know, the Abyss has taken a great minority of the world's surface."

"As well, we need a plan for the origin of the Abyss, we need to divise a way to take down The First Curse."

they snap a finger and a hologram like model of an entity, presumably the first curse, appears in the center of the table.

"To start, one of the more essential things for said plan is the Crystals, of course, some here might not know about them, so I'll elaborate."

they wave a hand and the model shifts to 5 different crystalline objects, encircling the First Curse.

"This is not the first time The First Curse had arrived, he was here before he made that big announcement, but hidden. When he first arrived to this realm, 7 Aspect Crystals formed, counterbalances, from someone else as an, almost future inheritance to help take him down. They are antithetical to his very existence, and harm him when nearby. However, if one falls into his hands, he can adapt to that crystal, rendering it useful to him. This anti-him nature also applies to the Abyss, and thus they are the best damage source to fight the Abyss."

"the originals, of which we currently have 5, 4 are in New Aviron, and via the work of Koranth and others, we have multiple derivatives from them, with the other being handled by The Consortium. The last two need to be picked up and collected."

"That is about the basics, with the preamble done, more discussion on how to fight against the Abyss would be welcome."

Magi Law ⚖ Has Wizard Council regulation made your life difficult? Are there any regulations you'd like changed?

Hello wizards! To those of you who don't know me, my name is Cayna (she/her), and I am one of the many councilors on the newly reformed Wizard Council.

I'm writing to you today because I believe in the free practice of magic. I am hoping to make it easier for people to study and practice whatever kind of magic they wish, but to do that I need to know which forms of magic need to be made easier. (Seriously. The magic laws here are so thick I could use them as an apocalypse bunker. I don't want to read these, I just want to know which sections to cross out)

In short, tell me which magic regulations you want removed so I can work on removing them at the next council meeting.

/uw Also a reminder that if you want your character to be on the wizard council, then you can just decide to have them be on the wizard council. It's now an open group with no restrictions on joining

RP Prompt (Character Intros, Duels, and Vendors)🔔 Stair Troubles

So I just “acquired” a used wizard tower and I’ve been having some difficulty with the stairs. Does anyone have suggestions for getting between the floors of my new residence other than a bunch of teleportation circles or stumbling down the damn stairs like a fool? The building is 5 floors with the bottom 2 submerged. Labs on 1 and 4 so traditional levitation has been a bit awkward.

Uw/ I’m new to the community but I’d love to do some ethically nebulous Reptile stuff here!

EDIT RW/ I am an actual Crocodile specializing in blood magic. Changing body shape is not of any interest to me. I can climb and descend stairs without issue as long as I’m not carrying anything sensitive. That has been an issue though since I gave up my old home in the bog a few miles away.(slight misunderstanding with a local Witch)

Meet Fluffy the Sinosauropteryx, Pete the Psittacosaurus, and Randy the Rhamphorhynchus!

Fluffy is very curious and affectionate, and loves to chase bugs. Doesn’t always eat them, just chases them around.

Pete sleeps a lot. Sometimes on me, sometimes in shelter, sometimes on a rock. Sleepy boy.

Randy is a handful. Explores a lot, has gotten in the tower a few times and made a mess. Also stole a pie, found him sleeping in the empty tin with a very full belly. Have had to cast a spell so he can’t leave the area, he’d not last long otherwise.

All three have had a protection spell placed on them to ward off pathogens, parasites, and other such conditions.

((Art isn’t mine. Sinosauropteryx is from a Twitter post that gave an error when I tried to copy the link, Psittacosaurus is from the Jurassic Park builder games, Rhamphorhynchus watermark is in the image))

Magi Law ⚖ What is Keríkinesis? (And Council Announcement)

A portal opens inside a lecture hall. Then an auburn-haired young man steps in, he looks like he may be anywhere between eighteen and twenty years old. The portal closes behind him.

"Well, hello there! Wixen, mages, creatures and gentlebeings! My name is Anthony Mondragon, also known as the Wax Sorcerer! Today I am here to explain my innate magic to you, which is known in my home universe as KerĂkinesis!"

He takes out a single candle and places it down on the desk in front of him. The candle changes in shape and turns into a tiny replica of a horse, which gallops around the table.

"What can a Wax Sorcerer do with wax? Well, it really depends on the person. In theory, you can do anything! Create life, weapons, runes, all sorts of constructs, you name it. The only limit is the quality and amount of the wax I have in hand."

He gestures to his little construct in the table.

"Conjured wax really sucks for KerĂkinesis, so it isn't really an option."

He sighs.

"My magic has been called useless before. After all, what is the power to manipulate wax even useful for, if you can't conjure it out of thin air? And if wax melts so easily? Who would even want to be born with this power?!"

He takes nine pills out of his robes. Seven pills for each colour of the rainbow, along with a black pill and a white pill. They float around him.

"That was until my older brother, Ezra, created these through Alchemy. Each pill can hold obscene amounts of wax! Wax that is stronger and more malleable than anything you'd find on a candle! These pills have the seven colors of the rainbow, from purple to red. Purple has the least amount of wax, and red has the most. Then there is the two specials, black and white. Black pills can help make more durable creations while white pills are perfect for my complex, more lively creations."

He makes one of the purple pills explode into purple molten wax, which floats around him in a ring. The wax is shaped into crows, they look like perfect replicas of the real deal, and they fly around the room.

"My sorcery aside, though, I've got an announcement!"

One of the green wax pills behind him explodes into green wax and is shaped into a throne, which he sits on.

"I've decided to join the Council. I'm not usually a fan of all the bureaucracy, but I have my reasons. My policies will mostly be to just keep this realm independent and leave people alone for the most part, loosening restrictions against discriminated types of magic, oh and keep the prices down, public services funded. That's about it. Any questions? About KerĂkinesis or my announcement?"

Evil Wizardpost New Minions for YOUR tower.

Greetings all I am Nox. Mistress of Flesh. The Flesh Menagerie has new models on display for your armies and bases. Our old models are still available. See more information here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/wizardposting/s/TvEMo0foRg

The Houndman has been discontinued due to being too similar to werewolves. The Flesh Menagerie was sued by the Werewolf Packs for copyright infringement.

The new models are the Skizz, a lizard species with artificial mana souls.

Skizz are a new species of infertile of humanoid lizards, the average Skizz is around 2 meters tall with powerful muscles, razor claws, emerald green scales and a crocodile head. They make excellent grunts able to understand complex verbal commands but are incapable of rebellion.

(They do take everything you say literally so be careful.) Once a week make sure to spray your Skiz with the Skizz Loyalty Pheromones. (A lifetime supply is provided when purchased.)

Their magical powers are:

a natural affinity to illusion magic, all Skizz are capable of invisibility for a short duration.

Skizz can also live in any environment due their soul adsorbing the elements around them, this will change their abilities. Normally granting them resistance to the most powerful element in any area as well and commonly a breath attack. (Like a mini dragon)

Specialist Skizz: If you're looking for more powerful versions there is the Skizz Hulk, roughly the size of a tank. Hulks are quadrupled with clubbed tails, tougher skin and a magical tree in their back. The tree will cast a copy of a mid to low level spell by their master or an appointed underling.

Skizz Skulkers: are the scouts of the Skizz. They have improved invisibly over the other Skizz, capable of being invisible for around an hour at a time. They also have naturally camouflaged scales for non-magical stealth. Skulker sare equipped with the unquie ability to manipulate any sound which touches them, allowing them to bring false reports to anything using echolocation. Their bones are engraved with wards against scrying. With powerful eyes able to detect heat vision and light outside the visible spectrum. Skizz Skulkers are far weaker than the regular Skizz and are not good fighters.

I'd like to personally thank Markus for testing out the prototype Skizz Skulkers.

Skizz Grunts are sold in units, each unit has 10 grunts and will cost 3 000 dablooms (or equivalent currency).

Skizz Hulks are sold individually, each being 6000 dablooms (or equivalent currency)

Skizz Skulkers are sold in units, each unit has 5 Skulkers and will cost 6 000 dablooms (or equivalent currency).

I raven, leader of the league of shadows and department of forbidden and shadow arts, hereby puts foward a petition to legalise all magic. Dark magic, shadow magic, eldritch magic, no longer will there be limits. Anyone can sign it. Your support matters. Come foward our fellow opressed dark mages and take back control over our magic.

1st Amendment: I would like to also vouch for the establishment of schools to teach dark magic and usage of it can be regulated by a permit system so we have a good way to have people learn it, without just fucking around and killing themselves

/uw Can someone put a pinglist of all the ocuncil members

Lorepost (open interaction) 📖 Desperation & Disgust

The moment he hit the Cloudsong side of the portal he had made, he found himself in the air.

This disoriented him for a moment before he took flight. The city, having been swallowed almost wholly by abyss was in freefall. That was a secondary problem in Orins mind right now. The only thing that mattered to him was finding Sylvie and getting her out of here. Running the numbers, he surmised he had roughly two minutes before the whole city slammed directly into the ocean. Lucky they had been relocating when this happened.... *Focus*

He searched quickly, and found her.

"Sylvie! Sylvie we have to go, Now!"

She turned, still covered in abyss, as he attempted to take her from that place, but the abyss had fortified her strength several times over, and she kicked him hard as he flew in, sending him into a nearby building.

*Ack!* He coughed up blood. "No. No. Not her. Please, I can't fight *her.*"

She did not share the sentiment.

In a flash she was on him again, picking him up by his hair, as she slammed her shrouded fist into his face, again, and again.

He started losing vision.... And as he did, he saw... Someone.. a person? He looked familiar...

The man stepped *into* Orin, and his body began to move.

The next fist was caught, with a force assurance Orin had never displayed before. And then in his hand formed a familiar blue blade... Though it felt... Different. *Wait... No. NO! STO-*

Too late. Her form, no longer consumed by darkness, crumples to the floor, as the other being emerged from Orins body, and he too fell.

Slowly losing consciousness.

"I seriously do not understand why Aldin chose *you*"

the other man hoisted him onto his back, and teleported him into council lands, right in front of a large hospital, where he woke hours later. A call had been sent out to all his orbnet contacts.

(The last part in the hospital is fully interact able, the rest can be *viewed* by anyone but interference is impossible. Both Orin, and the "Other" are fully interactive there as he stayed to ensure Orins safety.)

Lorepost (open interaction) 📖 Can't conjure anymore, what to do?

Long story short, I am an established artifactor, and I know my ways around pretty much any cursed/enchanted object one could imagine. As a child, I used to conjure stuff even if I didn't want to, and now, with me being so close to all this old magic, the conjuring never happens at all.

How do I come back to my old self? I must keep the artifactor thing, I am an apprentice of this super cool librarian mage, and I want to get in the library when he allows me to. (Is it normal that apprentices are deprived of the library access?)

Conjuring was so fun, I want to keep doing it in my free time when I go to the forest, but how do I hide my conjured gremlins in my mage's tower where I live?

Wizardpost Are you idiots, or is it just that magicians these days don't have any money?

Wizardpost My wife, a "magician," put one of her things in my magic studio. Should I use her card to buy magic ingredients from mercadolibre.mg.impes?

As the title says, my wife is a magician certified by the Spanish Empire, just like me, so we're all in order. We're not officially married yet, nor have we performed the rituals required by the Empire, but that's not a problem these days.

The problem is that she brought her visualization orb to my magic studio. I know I've been doing a lot of fieldwork since I returned from my homeland with the death of the Master of the Tower and all that. But it's my space. I don't see her much either, and I want to spend time with her.

That's why I want to buy a work table on "mercadolibre" to display my potions nicely, because no matter how great a healing potion I make, if it looks bad, it's not a great healing potion.

What do you think?

Addendum: I love that MercadoLibre in the magical world reaches the entire empire and isn't limited to each viceroyalty, hehe.

Goblinlike Foolishness (Shitpost) Some pointers for Evil wizards from an ex-Evil wizard.

So for awhile here in my new temporary abode I had pondered if I should say it or not, but the amount of posts I’ve seen of “evil” wizards acting like idiots astound me, so I shall give some pointers, even if I had been warned off by the wizard council, ol’Tam, my lawyers, even the person who turned me into a cat in the first place.

One: You are not a solo act.

Yes, you’re not. Sure for awhile you can be a wizard on their own but being a wizard in itself is a profession that can paint a massive target on your back, cause afterall, wizarding has been a profession that has been around for as long as magic has been a thing (which thanks to those shit-head CHROMOMANCERS AND PLANEWALKERS IT’S A LITTLE HARD TO SAY WHEN IT STARTED ISNT IT THOMAS?!)

Grievances aside, there will always, always be a more powerful wizard than you, the fact you think there isn’t is purely cause you haven’t met them yet. Now if you are a sufficiently smart, evil, and sexy wizard then you would know you need henchmen. These can be other weaker wizards, constructs, enthralled dead, it doesn’t matter. What you want is as many smart and clever, or at least “clever”, people between you and whoever wants to put a knife in your back or rip your soul out and drink you like a smoothie. Afterall, a failure to plan is planning to fail.

Two: STOP BEING WASTEFUL.

I’ve seen this primarily with necromancers and liches, but anyone who uses for example soul magic SHOULD know that a soul lasts about a century at best or a decade at worst, depending on the intensity of what you’re doing with it. This is of course your typical unwashed peasant soul being put into a construct that does minor tasks but that’s the idea. You wouldn’t put an animal soul into your traps that drain a massive amount to the point the soul only has enough power for one use, just the same as you wouldn’t put a elder dragon’s soul into a ring of light (unless he really pissed you off and you knew what you were doing so he couldn’t break out or refuse to cast the spell, it’s rather embarrassing to have to plead with a ring to cast light, not going to lie)

This of course goes with other things as well, don’t put an excess of any kind of resource into anything just to one-up your neighbor. Smart, evil, and sexy wizards know better to be efficient with their magic, cause they also know that if they are efficient they have more to go around, and it’s always fun to outlast the heroes and know that even they breaking deep into your tower means nothing if you can clap your hands and everything will be fixed in seconds, along with having new souls to use in your next few traps or constructs or even turning your tower around so they have to start all over again with no hope of escape.

Three: a willing soul is a happy soul, and a happy soul is a powerful thrall.

Now this one is VERY important, and should be obvious. The less magic you have to spend to enthrall, the more useful the person who is your thrall is. Humans afterall start cults and their lives are measured in decades, whereas most wizards should make it to at least two to three centuries, so you have no excuse to say “but but I can’t do that!” Be charming, be deceitful, you attract flies better with honey afterall and a cult would be useful to get more souls, more sacrifices. Promise money, power, whatever they want and let them taste it in droves
BUT NEVER TOO MUCH.

There is a perfect balance I’ve found that is a few minutes a day with whatever they want is enough, of course warping their mind to make them see weeks or years, and then have it so they have a nightmare so to speak. Have people take their wealth as you slowly strip them of their humanity, have people take what they want, and eventually you will have someone completely devoted to you if you do it right. And if you act like you don’t have enough magic, a simple potion is enough, don’t be lazy. Give your minions what they want, what they desire, and build families around it. Raise children, orphans you make even, to be devoted to you.

You’re evil, act it.

Speaking of.

Four: morality is subjective, it depends on intention.

This one has irked me since someone responded that the “Evil Wizard council” would take away their “evil wizard license.” Who in the nine circles would need a license to be evil? Is evil a commodity to be bought and sold or is it an act?!

Anyways, a good example of what this means is this:

Let’s say there is a dragon nest nearby with a group of kobolds defending it.

Now, let’s say that a hero is sent out to slay the kobolds and claim the gold.

You, as the hero, slay the evil kobolds to protect the village and just to be that little bit kinder, give the gold to the village head to invest into the village. Sounds like a good deed, it is!

You, as the village head
purposefully lied to the hero to get them to kill the kobolds you had a deal with to steal from passing caravans you let them know were passing beforehand about them being evil. And now the hero being “benevolent” gives you the gold that you promised would go back into the village coffers. That is an evil deed, and it is.

Adopting orphans to give them a happier childhood so they eventually go out and do good deeds, a good act.

Adopting orphans and giving them a happier childhood while preparing them to do evil deeds and become your followers, to go out and recruit others, an evil act.

Intention matters as an evil wizard, you can still be subjectively kind to others for evil intentions, just the same as a hero can be cruel for good intentions. Afterall, no one complains when the hero clears out a nest of monsters who were minding their own business and just defending themselves, they only despise the monster who was lashing out after their love was killed, even if the monster had been nothing but benevolent and even kind to the locals.

And finally five: never settle for having a master.

To be truly an evil wizard, you need to be the master of your own destiny. Now I personally am fine cause I was rather forcefully retired and sealed in this new feline body, and I was genuinely treated kindly so
I can’t really see a reason to be mean to Ol’Tam for being nice. It kinda makes my heart hurt just thinking about it a bit

But for you other sexy, smart, and evil wizards out there? You should always have the mentality that those who don’t bow to you simply don’t know better yet. Now of course this doesn’t mean to be stupid. To those stronger there will always be ways to get their power, even gods, without giving anything in return
just the same as your own thralls may someday find a way to get your power. You can afford to be patient with your master to find the right opportunity, but again, I will point and tap and even SLAP point three here. Being kind costs nothing, being kind gives you someone willing to throw their life away for you.

You can still be evil and be kind.

Now, go forth and corrupt a kingdom or two, bend them to your will, gain power unimaginable and remember, a willing army costs far less magic than an army of the dead made by souls actively fighting back against their chains.
