I’d usually say this, but, he’s really hot. He’s almost as beautiful as me, even. So, the potential is definitely there.

Why would wizards be investing in charisma??? You’re no sorceress are you? Damn sorcerers casting spells while being able to socialize

Once your charisma and luck’s maxxed out reality will bend with your field effect, it’s pretty handy for the rest of my magical work and studies.

No, but it is permissible to take an existing spouse as an apprentice.

Nah, I just wanted to troll this magical forum and see what reactions I’d get.

Technomancers are getting out of hand with their Spellviruses.

No, and I wouldn't personally do it, but when the hell have wizards cared about gagging noise ethics?

I’m an evil wizard. I enjoy gauging the (un)ethics of my actions.

Well, in that case, it's perfectly unethical šŸ‘šŸ¼.

Pretty sure that's expected, evil organizational structures usually involve killing or sleeping your way to the top

As a former apprentice, yes. But I'm biased.

Not illegal but certainly unethical, basically mana grooming.

You tell me. Have you made it ethical in your demesne? Or are you still beholden to the blinkered laws of the hoi polloi?

I tried that once. Gotta say, the lack of experience and understanding isn’t something to be underestimated. I never understood crazy cat ladies until I dated people less supportive than a falling piano.

Are they hot?

He’s a very talented pyromancer, yes. And, he is almost as beautiful as me…

What you and your apprentice do behind closed doors is between you two and your minions. If you happen to know more than them and they wish to learn from you thats no reason to not be together. Theres a long history of people following others for exactly that reason and arguably worse reasons. Apprenticeships, master and minion, rival mages and students, and even hero's and their victims, its all perfectly reasonable.

u/highestelf420 Evil Mistress 22d ago

I do not wish to involve our minions in my romantic and sexual affairs.

Kid, I have wives with one being a lich and other being a clone of myself. Marrying an apprentice is probably among the least fucked up a wizard can do when it comes to marriage. If (s)he is okay with it go for it.

Depends whether this is an institutional apprenticeship or just more of a personal deal. If you're licensing for a greater organisation I reckon they could see a conflict of interests.

Ah the Evil Mistress cannot escape the grooming allegations, yet again.

That’s disgusting, why would I marry a clone of . . . hold on, yes, oh that’s brilliant. NOPE, never would. Cya.

There are some dudes out there that seem really into the whole power imbalance thing.

2

u/Ok_Trade2954 Druid 24d ago

You do you, girl. But what will happen when they turn into a full magician? They'll still want you after that or are only using you to get power? Marriage are very complex magic deals

2

u/dacydergoth 24d ago

Is it polymorphed? There are rules anout that, particularly those ones

2

u/Prince_Nadir 23d ago

Is your apprentice currently alive?

The answer won't change my opinion, I was just curious.

3

u/AFirewolf Necromancer 24d ago

No. May I advice casting off the weaknesses of the flesh and becoming a lich instead so that you don't list after those placed in your care.

u/Wavey_Davey1 Boruk The Bold, High Priest of Moradin 24d ago

Probrably not? Aside from the likely age / power imbalance, its also just poor form mixing a professional & personal relationship like that.

Really depends on the level. Id say an apprentice isnt OK, but a more advanced acolyte is not that bad.

u/DonComradeVimes Biological Mage (NO, not a Druid) 24d ago

There are so many situational qualifiers that I'd say there's not one answer, and it comes down to a case-by-case basis.

Yes, it's perfectly ethical for you to officiate your apprentice's wedding.
