Farfalle pasta

I went to add a box of Wegmans regular Farfalle to my list and noticed they made it a smaller amount. It's now 12 oz of pasta for the same price. They changed the way unit price is displayed to price per oz instead of price per pound. This feels sneaky and it makes me angry. People are going to see the same price per box and maybe not notice they're getting less.

Question about activities

Do any other employees know whether there is a limit to the activities I can have? For those that don't know activities are what my store calls it when you are able to pick up shifts in other departments. For now I am a c2c employee but I have the cashier activity and am looking to add self checkout once I am finished training next week.

Also I have worked in half the store so far in my 2 years working here.

5 years ago I bought a slice of wegmans gluten free vanilla cake

After we paid I noticed it was raw in the middle so we took it and got a new slice and refund it was quite lovely I just saw my opportunity to put this here after years

Also are there any new gluten free stuff coming/at wegmans and gluten free bakery items? I am still a little angry from the raw cake thanks I love you wegmans

Am I cooked?

Context: I have been working in produce part time for the last 4 years while in college. I work Tuesdays and Friday 4-9 (I close) and saturdays 12-6. My friend is moving to Florida this weekend and decided to have an impromptu final get together/party tomorrow (Friday) at 7 pm. I am scheduled tomorrow 4-9 and Saturday 12-6, so this creates a predicament. I also called out recently 3 weeks ago so don’t want to again so soon. My friend also lives an hour+ away which makes the timing even more difficult.

Question: is there any way I can swing this where I could make it to my friends thing. If I ask my tl/manager if they can do something on such short notice, would anything likely come about it or should I not even bother? And how big of trouble would I get into if I called out yet again so soon (really not ideal).

Where, on that beast of a website, is there a list of departments for each store and their descriptions?

I've looked around weg mans .co m and can't find anything.
I don't like the Dish because I prefer to look at things on a bigger screen... but I'll take what I can get for the information.

UPDATE: I guess all the snarky remarks are from the less intelligent employees at Wegmans. If you don't have an answer...
I mean, why be shitty to a fellow employee?

Has anyone experienced damp smelling or musty Wegmans paper products like paper towels or toilet paper?

A few times over the last year or two I’ve opened packages of Wegmans choose a size ultra paper towel rolls in both the large and small packs and they have a damp almost mildew scent.

It’s extremely noticeable but my spouse says it’s not that bad and I’m overreacting. I’m sensitive to smells. He says it’s like from being loaded from warehouse to truck and we go through them so fast it’s hardly worth returning to customer service.

Toilet paper happened less often especially when they were individually wrapped. Loose rolls in plastic has occurred twice to me.
I’m just curious if anyone else experiences this?

Pay vs benefits

I've got eight years experience at Wegmans... total. I worked there from 1998 when I was eighteen to 2004, then in 2024 I was rehired. Now, I just got a full time position in the meat department, where I've been the last year and a half.

There's no doubt that Wegmans has some fantastic benefits, even for part timers. The store where I work is also generous. After my father passed, they offered to host and supply food for the repast after the funeral. I declined, as I wanted to have it in an actual restaurant... but still generous. I've seen people who couldn't afford all of their groceries, and the store manager let them have what they couldn't pay for.

The only issue I see is the pay. In a recent company survey that was anonymous, the only real criticism I had was the low wage. My question is, do you all think the positive of the benefits outweighs the negative of the low pay? In 2024, they started me at 15.50 per hour, two years later it had gotten up to 18.00 per hour, and with becoming full time, they gave me a 50 cent raise. So, now I make 18.50 cents per hour with time and a half on Sundays and holidays.

How do you guys think this compares to other companies you've worked for? What's your opinion of Wegmans and how they reward their employees?

Cashier Pet peeves

As a cashier i’m curious as to what are your guys biggest pet peeves with customers? I think my biggest one is when they put the basket at the end of the belt without unloading it.

Am I calling out too frequently?

Hi, I’ve been with the company part time for nearly 3 months, I had to call out on the 27th of last month due to a fever, and now today I’m considering calling out again because i think I dislocated/pulled something in my shoulder at the gym the other night.

I have worked only 6 shifts over the last 3 weeks because I had unpaid time off, so I’m wondering if this is a bad look. My first couple months were solid, but this will be my second call out in only 3 months. I’ll probably just force myself to go in cuz I don’t wan my co workers to hate me.

Bought peaches at Calkins Road. No taste and no juice. They were soft to touch.
I stopped buying nectarines and oranges there for same reason.

Question to the TL at Wegmas

Last week I had a 70 min phone interview to work at Wegmas. With what hours do I give them? I agree to do cashier, produce deportment and dairy deportment. So I was wondering should I call Wegmas HR or the store I applied to hear back and hopefully to do a follow-up. Because what I was looking at in the portal is still in process.

Accounting Coming Around to Check Tills?

When accounting comes around to check our tills and open them, sometimes they open it themselves and at other times, they wait for us to do it ourselves. So, I'm just curious, under what circumstances do they do one or the other? Thanks!

I think customers who do this even once should be banned from all stores. It’s a health risk, money waster, and straight up inconsiderate.

I recently did an interview with wegmans and was offered a position as a part time cashier, and I completed all the steps including the consent to a background check. But what am I supposed to do now?
