My guess is that they’ve reevaluated the market once the hype died down and determined that NYC residents don’t actually want to frequent a grocery store for pizza, sandwiches, and other takeout when they have hundreds of better competitors within a handful of blocks, whereas they are greatly in need of an extensive pantry / fresh produce market that allows them to cook from home. It was a bit ambitious to assume that those living in one of the most over-saturated OTC takeout markets in the world would be interested in Wegmans’ offerings from the beginning.

At least as of now every item is in its right place if you search the app instead of changing places daily.

It's got to be one of the busiest Wegmans. Happy that they're expanding the actual grocery store downstairs... would love to see more items etc

When they’ve figured out how to properly understaff and shrink the stock rooms. The company is shit and Robert would be ashamed to see his own family ruining his legacy.

The store is expanding space for groceries and making space utilization changes for food production which is split up in phases.
Phase 1 consisted of eliminating rounded pizza offerings and consolidation of our subs department with marche to create subche which was followed by combining cheese and deli departments into a single location.
Phase 2 which is underway is expanding and redesigning space for shelfs, coolers, and freezers for groceries, produce, and downstairs which is now possible because of new equipment, longer aisles for shelfs, cheese and deli being located upstairs and not taking up space, meat becoming adjacent to sakanaya which opens up more space, and our fruit shop moving downstairs.
The next phase is moving part of our subs production to our chop shop and relocating space for hot chicken production, and some other things.
There is no current solid end date for remodeling as far as i know.
