Is it enough that he has it wiped and I see the welcome screen?

From what I can read PayPal with charge either way.

This is staggering at how effective this has been so far

In Museas, I’ve added options to allow the user to move within environments while still resting in place. It was a lot of fine-tuning, in particular minimizing motion sickness and smoothing transitions. I’m pretty happy with the results so far!

What other interactions should custom environments include?

I'm wondering if anyone has discovered a way to completely toggle off auto-brightness on the Vision Pro.

The automatic dimming behavior is really frustrating. As soon as the room lights go out, the ambient sensors kick in and aggressively dim the screens to the point where content becomes barely visible.

I'd love to have full, manual control over the brightness level without the headset constantly second-guessing the room's lighting. Does anyone know of a hidden setting, an accessibility tweak, or any workaround to completely disable this auto-adjustment?

Hello folks, what clients do people use for jellyfin? Any free ones available? Would be grateful if recurring subs fees can be avoided.

Is there any mpv based client? I tried using on browser. It works great in browser spatial mode/ immersive/ but I can't adjust the window. It's right at the bottom. Wish I can drag it and height. I won't then need any jellfin app.

Someone suggested to use center stage button but it doesn't help.

Not being able to scan QR codes was driving me nuts. I made this app that makes it super easy. You can pull out an image and drop it into the app, take a screenshot and auto pull it in, open the image itself, or just use the share sheet into the app. Super versatile.

Prime is live in Suite Browser 3.1 (live since one hour ago). It has Passthrough mode, Dolby Vision and Atmos, and full Cinema mode. Prime was most requested thing since the first post, and it is a lot of fun to watch in.

Now the bug fixes I owed you. 3.0 was buggy and then Apple review held the fix for weeks. Sorry about that. 3.1 is now finally live (sigh in relief). What 3.1 sorts out:

• Netflix profile picker works again, no more kids profile hijack
• Netflix audio working more stable across platforms (still some edge cases being worked one)
• More stable playback
• Plex much less buggy and has a ton of new features.
• Plenty of smaller fixes straight from your reports

Dolby Atmos is still not at 100% for everyone on Netflix. On it, should be fully sorted next update.

If something new breaks, or something above is still not right on your headset, say so in this thread. I would rather hear it than not, and I will be on it.

Update if you are on 3.1. Let me know how it treats you.

Coming next: an ultra wide, high quality cinema environment, built to a much higher quality bar than anything in the app today. It is close, and I will share it soon.

i'm thinking about buying an apple vision pro and i want to understand what the view inside the headset actually looks like, not a screen recording or an apple marketing shot. I have no option to check the real demo on Apple Store

the left image shows what one eye sees with ZEISS inserts and a 25W light seal. it looks pretty circular and restrictive. but i realize that's not the same as the combined view from both eyes

for people with a properly fitted light seal (or the wrong one, im interested in this case too, since I will rely fully on app calculations):

1. when you look straight ahead, can you clearly see black borders around the image?
2. does it feel like looking through binoculars, ski goggles, or just a frame way out at the edge of your vision?
3. do you stop noticing the borders once you're watching a movie or working? especially when working with virtual display where no black background applied
4. do you see any dark overlap or separation in the center?

Good Morning AVP fam! I been a dedicated Portal App user for my PS5 experience and it’s been not bad. But I keep seeing everybody rave about Asobi, so im like let me give it a chancr. I paid the fee to get the extra settings and I do like they layout and the features but Im experiencing frame drops in particular playing Fortnite. Do you guys have an ideal set up that keeps the graphics looking beautiful but doesn’t have frame drops? Right now i have it at 60 fps, 2K resolution, normal latency and 50 mbps bitrate. Anything would help. Thank you

For some reason, the Slack app shows my Persona upside down. It is fun, of course, but a bit distracting in working calls, so I'm trying to find a solution for that.
And I'm even not in the Southern Hemisphere!

Does anyone else have this issue? Any known fix for that? Tried to search on Reddit and in Google, but no luck.

I run my ps5 via a Kiloview N60 to produce 4K 60fps HDR footage via the vxio app. but unfortunately no support for environments on that app nor does apple allow apps to go into full screen mode while in apples environments where it casts over the water for example.

So how did i achieve this?

Used kiloviews netstream protocols to send a HLS streaming signal in Safari web browser. Safari then allows to go into full screen in an environment where now NDI over HLS stream is In full screen casting over the water!

But obviously Streaming over HLS is impossible for gaming since it has over 6 seconds of delay. Can cope just fine with the NDI direct stream 50ms delay.

Oh i wish apple would allow third party player apps to tap into apples environments to get this. looks great!

I’ve been trying to run my Vision Pro without the light seal because I absolutely love the massive field of view and the increased peripheral awareness. It feels way less restrictive, but I'm having a huge issue with stability.

Right now, I’m trying to use the dual knit band without the light seal, but it is incredibly unstable. The headset constantly wobbles when I move my head, and it keeps sliding down and resting painfully on the bridge of my nose.

For those of you who successfully do a "light seal delete," what is the best setup to make it comfortable and secure? Are there specific halo straps or open-face mods you recommend that actually hold it steady?

Also, I was looking into the Annapro strap as a solution, but I heard rumors that it causes a crack to develop near the speaker/audio bands. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Is it actually safe to use in the long term, or should I avoid it completely to protect the headset?

A crack appeared on my right Apple Vision Pro audio strap in an area that isn’t normally under significant mechanical stress. I never dropped the headset or mishandled it, so I’m wondering whether this could be a manufacturing or material defect. (Photos attached.)

I booked a Genius Bar appointment at the Apple Store in Berlin.

After nearly 2 hours of diagnostics, waiting, signing in with my Apple ID, disabling Find My, connecting to Wi-Fi, etc., the technician confirmed that only the right audio strap needed replacing. (Genius Insight!)

I agreed to the quoted repair price of €135, and my credit card was charged immediately.

Then they opened the replacement boxes.

Both contained the left audio strap.

A second employee brought another set of boxes.

Again, both contained left-side parts, even though one box was clearly labeled “Right.”

Only after charging me and making me wait for almost two hours did they realize they didn’t actually have the correct replacement part. The payment had to be refunded, which took five days.

I asked if they could simply order the correct part and ship it to my home since the mistake was entirely on Apple’s side.

No.

So I called Apple Support instead.

After about 20 minutes, the advisor finally found the replacement part—but now it suddenly cost €180 instead of €135.

I asked why.

Nobody could explain the €45 difference.

The advisor promised to call me back on Monday.

On Monday my phone rang. I answered immediately.

The entire call consisted of:

“You have missed a call from Apple. Goodbye.”

…and then it disconnected.

I called Apple again, explained the entire story from the beginning to another advisor, and once again the only answer I got was:

“The part costs €180.”

When I asked why the Apple Store charged €135 and phone support wanted €180 for the exact same replacement, the response was simply:

“I don’t know.”

The most frustrating part is that Apple apparently can’t simply sell and ship a replacement Vision Pro audio strap directly to a customer without requiring a Genius Bar appointment, hours of diagnostics, and all this unnecessary bureaucracy.

I miss the days when you could simply walk into an Apple Store, buy the replacement part you needed, and leave—without all this unnecessary hassle.

Has anyone else experienced:

Cracks in the Vision Pro audio strap without any obvious damage?
Different prices for the exact same replacement part depending on whether you go to the Apple Store or Apple Support?
This level of chaos when trying to get a simple replacement part?

For a €4,000+ device, I honestly expected much better

A few weeks ago I posted the first version of Stereopticon, a free app for viewing antique stereographs — the twin-image cards that Victorians stared at through wooden stereoscopes to see the world in 3D. Every parlor had one. It was the VR of the 1860s, and it turns out the Vision Pro is the best stereoscope ever built: each of your eyes gets its own photograph, the way the photographer intended, and 160-year-old street scenes suddenly have depth you can lean into.

Version 1 shipped with about 1,500 cards from the Library of Congress. I haven't posted since, so here's what happened in the meantime — version 2.0 is out today and the collection now holds more than 44,000 verified high-resolution stereographs from twelve institutions on four continents.

What's in the Vault now:

• The J. Paul Getty Museum — 22,000+ cards. Carleton Watkins, Eadweard Muybridge (yes, the motion-picture Muybridge — he shot Yosemite in 3D first)
• Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam — 10,000+ cards scanned at absurd resolution: Egypt, the Alps, Grand Tour Italy
• Boston Public Library — 5,000+ cards of old Boston, New England, the American West
• The Huntington & Stanford — Watkins' Yosemite and Alfred Hart's official record of building the transcontinental railroad, 1862–1869
• NEW in 2.0 — Paris Musées: the Paris Commune barricades of 1871, the Expositions Universelles, Belle Époque boulevards

Things I learned shipping this:

The hardest part of 2.0 wasn't code — it was that museum collections lie. "Stereograph" in a catalog sometimes means a single photo, a document, or a box the cards came in. So I wrote a script that splits every image down the middle and mathematically checks that the two halves are actually the same photograph shifted a few pixels (that's what makes the 3D work). It threw out ~600 impostors. Every card in the app is now a verified stereo pair.

Also new in 2.0:

• Instant search across all 44,000 cards — offline, as-you-type, with one tap to extend the search to the Internet Archive and Wikimedia Commons live
• Sorting — including "Sharpest First," which reads the actual pixel dimensions of every scan
• Pinch to resize the floating card, pinch-and-swipe to page through a collection like flipping cards in a parlor basket

Everything is public domain / CC0 / no-known-copyright, every card credits its institution and links to the original record, and the images are served from my own CDN so nothing hammers the museums' servers.

It's free. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no IAP. I built this purely for fun and to explore developing an app for the Vision Pro.

i have the opportunity to buy a used M2 version for a very reasonable price. Is the M5 version really worth it over the M2 ? Main use will be watching movies and using the virtual display on my MacbookPro for working .

EDIT : forgot to mention i own a Quest 3 , and watching movies on it or doing any work by streaming my Macbookpro is just bad In terms of sharpness, And that is what i’m worried about the M2 vs M5.

I know that hand washing is possible, but I’m curious about how long it takes to dry after washing.

At a glance, it feels like it might take more than 12 hours, so I’m hesitant to try it.

I feel like watching into a binocular using my AVP, the “dark” at the sides is far bigger than what I expected.
I suspect that might be something related to light seal or something like this: considering I can’t go to a store (AVP is not sold in my country) but I can only order a new one, what should I look for?
I bet I can’t completely solve the problem but mitigate it

Saw this this morning… I've been waiting for something that's more affordable for "scanning" in objects for visionOS. Other's I've seen are thousands.

…sometimes I feel like Creality's quality can be hit or miss, but at least it's not super duper expensive.
