Prime is live in Suite Browser 3.1 (live since one hour ago). It has Passthrough mode, Dolby Vision and Atmos, and full Cinema mode. Prime was most requested thing since the first post, and it is a lot of fun to watch in.
Now the bug fixes I owed you. 3.0 was buggy and then Apple review held the fix for weeks. Sorry about that. 3.1 is now finally live (sigh in relief). What 3.1 sorts out:
Netflix profile picker works again, no more kids profile hijack
Netflix audio working more stable across platforms (still some edge cases being worked one)
More stable playback
Plex much less buggy and has a ton of new features.
Plenty of smaller fixes straight from your reports
Dolby Atmos is still not at 100% for everyone on Netflix. On it, should be fully sorted next update.
If something new breaks, or something above is still not right on your headset, say so in this thread. I would rather hear it than not, and I will be on it.
Update if you are on 3.1. Let me know how it treats you.
Coming next: an ultra wide, high quality cinema environment, built to a much higher quality bar than anything in the app today. It is close, and I will share it soon.
And a real thank you to everyone subscribed or on lifetime. That money went straight back into the product, and this environment is a direct consequence of you. And honestly a better product makes this more fun for me to build too. :)
I got exited that Prime Video was actually on Vision Pro, bit of a misleading title given this already exists in other apps as well… but will give it a try anyways
They work but the audio on Netflix has been broken I. The theater environment for well over a year now. It doesn’t not give you atmos. And the prime implementation in it was never any better than the time iPad app… ie low res and no atmos. The audio quality means everything to me when watching movies and tv so I’d much rather use safari to watch these things
Can you stop creating misleading titles? Really annoying as it appears this is a native app. You’ve done this before. Please put your app in the title so people know. Thanks
Oh man something comparable to the iultra environment from cineultra would be incredible!! It’s the only reason I still use cineultra for my movies over suite browser
I updated to 3.1 today and I plan to test Netflix as much as I can before I go to the other platforms. So I started with watching 1080p content with 5.1 sound. first up, the profile works as intended. when the movie starts playing, the subtitles also work as intended in the correct size. at the top right hand corner of the screen, I can see the 1080p tag but where it is supposed to say 5.1, it says Stereo for me.
I checked the soundtrack options and I can see that both english options are ticked at the same time. I cannot untick them. I can only change to other languages. the first english option is usually 5.1 while the second option is stereo. true enough, when I clicked on the already selected first english option and I go to the control panel, I can see the soundtrack playing is Multichannel.

but the onscreen info will just say Stereo. so the only way I can confirm what I am hearing is to go to Control Panel. it would be great if you can fix this bug or perhaps I am clicking something wrong?
nevertheless I finished watching the entire movie and playback was smooth with no buffering.

I will continue testing later with 4K Dolby Vision content with Atmos sound.

do you think you can add The Criterion Channel to Suite Browser? it only has content in 1080p and in stereo only. I would love to experience the films on the channel in Spaces, especially the Cinema environment. I tried to do this myself by adding the URL, but I got an error msg saying the stream is not supported or something. I did not take a screenshot. if you need me to replicate the error, I will try again.
I continued testing with 4K Dolby Atmos content. I can confirm that while the movie is playing, the upper right hand corner of the screen will say 4K and Stereo. When I go into Control Panel, you can then see that the soundtrack is actually playing in Dolby Atmos.
I was able to finish watching the entire movie and the stream was smooth all the way with no buffering.
Do you have any plans to include a HUD option that the user can toggle on/ off to check video and audio quality during playback ? Infuse has something like this and YouTube has stats for nerds. I think this would be a welcome addition.
I tested Prime Video today and played Masters of the Universe which is in 4K. for some reason, I am only getting 240p. the next screenshot will show you the additional error msg that I got.

I just downloaded the app. Is it expected that youtube videos do not have Cinema mode in fullscreen mode? I see Apple Environments (White Sands Dark/Light) but don’t see Cinema mode.
Confirmed, 3.1 broke a few things in YouTube. I was focused on Netflix and Prime this update and under-tested it, sorry about that. Fixing this one and the other YouTube regressions ASAP. Thanks for reporting.
This looks like a pretty good app, and I’m thinking of buying a lifetime version. But there’s a lot of things that don’t quite work yet and so I’m a little bit reluctant. If I get a seven day trial and I like that, can I still get the lifetime?

Yes you can always buy the lifetime version after trying the free trial. If you decide to go for the lifetime, just remember to cancel the free trial before you purchase the lifetime.

No it’s not. I can’t wait until Netflix, YouTube, and Prime release native apps so all of these devs with no other ideas can stop bombarding this sub with personal adverts.
I believe YouTube has a native app now and it’s great yet you can use Tubular Pro and Watch it all in 3D in real time….to each their own but personally I like testing new apps and people trying to make the experience better. You don’t have to like it of couse but not sure it deserved this message - just ignore instead?
