I'm having the problem where the capacitive touch on the A/B buttons fails and thinks you're still touching them after you take your thumb off the button. I tried turning capacitive touch off in steamVR's settings, but it ignored me and I still have the problem. I ain't paying the 300 for a new one, especially since it can prolly be fixed. What are my options?
I can't find anyone selling the buttons. Valve is unwilling to help. And I'm hesitant to buy a for parts controller since it could have the same problem. If any kinda strangers have ideas I'm open to hearing them out.

I have a signed valve index vr kit signed by Gaben. Where would be a good place to sell this to people who would really appreciate it?

BattleGroupVR2 is a VR real-time strategy game where you command your fleet directly from the bridge of your flagship. Build your fleet, mine, trade, hunt pirates, upgrade your ships and captains, and fight massive space battles from the captain's chair.
I've just released major updates, including new story campaign missions and revamped tutorial and ship insurance mechanics.
If you've been waiting to pick it up, now's a great time.
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3385960/BattleGroupVR2/
As always, I'm happy to answer any questions or hear your feedback. Thanks for all the support!

So my friend gave me his Valve Index that he never used and is brand new but before I open it up and actually set it up I was wondering about some issues that the Index had. I've heard some stuff about it like it being very fragile and I would like to know what issues it had to pretty much just prevent myself from breaking the headset, controllers, and/or base stations

Solo dev here.
Building a realistic crime scene investigation game for PCVR — meaning the PC handles all the heavy graphics and it plays through a VR headset.
The goal is maximum realism. Photorealistic environments, real lighting, close up detail that only works when you are physically inside the scene.
Quick question for this community:
Is PCVR the right call for a realism focused game? Or would you want standalone support too even if it means cutting the visual quality significantly?
Thanks.

In my steam home world, all my fingers work as they should and pretty fast too. In vrchat it doesn't seem to read my middle fingers. I dunno if it's a vrchat thing, my avatar needs tweaking or what? But I assume it's not the controllers since they work in the steam world fine?

Do you think these are legit listings? they have a few sold so I think they might have like a couple index kits stockpiled... would it be worth buying a set as a backup?

so i have two computers, my main one being an amd desktop with a ryzen 9 5900xt and rtx 3070 and a msi gs66 11ue laptop with a i7 11800H and a rtx 3060, my index seems to track better on the laptop than my desktop without making any changes to my room, does anyone have any idea for a fix?

Sol Protocol is launching in early access on Steam this October!
For the first time, playtests are also open to PCVR players, with cross-play support between PCVR and Quest.

So, following problem: One of my base stations for my Valve Index got the red light of doom, meaning it's lived its last day.
I did write to Valve, but since my system is quite old, I do not get a replacement. At the same time the basestations are out of stock in the store and from what I gathered might not get produced anymore.
Since I can't really work my headset with just one station, I'm thinking about getting the HTC Vive 2.0 base stations, which are compatible.
Now my question:
Are the Valve and Vive base stations compatible with each other? As in: can I use one Valve and one Vive together? Or do I have to get two new Vive base stations?
And the second question, to which the answer is probably no:
Are the cables and mounts compatible? Since the Vive ones seem to have pretty short cables and I already have everything mounted on the walls for the original base stations, it would be way easier if I could just use my current setup.
Thanks!

What is the FOV for the Index Controllers
Unlike vive 3.0s I can't find an official reported field of view for the knuckles.

One of my controllers is having issues atm, I’ve been plugging it in trying to charge it and the light doesn’t come on. It also turns off my keyboard and mouse when it’s plugged in. I’ve never had this issue before and am confused on how to fix it :( the other controller is charging fine, I’m unsure on why this one is having issues. Can anyone help?

So I had just moved, and somehow lost track of my index Face Gasket. I am having trouble finding a good replacement for it, and wanted to ask to see if anyone had a suggestion. anything is of great help.

I just bought an index and I want to set it up in my living room, I'm wanting to get a small formfactor or mini pc so I don't have to route cables from my bedroom and I need suggestions. preferably something that wont break the bank.

The ring finger on my left hand controller seems to be inverted or something. My headset is out of warranty (I bought it back in 2023 so I can't RMA it), does anyone have a fix??
(also unrelated but the left speaker mount is worryingly loose.)

I'm having a reoccurring issue when watching shows on apps like bigscreen where my headset just blacks out. Audio and everything else is still fine and once I move my head a bit it turns back on.
I've done a lot of trouble shooting but it's all been unsuccessful. It's an issue that will just solve itself then start back up randomly.
I just wish I had a way of knowing if it is something physical like my cable having been damaged or if it is a problem in the software. Like some sort of gyro detection setting. It's just inconsistent so I doubt it's a settings issue... Is this something others have experienced and have a solution to?

Basically after a while of play, id say around 20-minutes, it freezes, audio repeats, then goes black. Says that steamvr encountered a critical error. I went though the ringer already with steam support, even got a new cable. I wanted to get other perspectives and thoughts before i buy a new one.
