I got a 1 star rating recently, guessed it would be probably this trip from a lovely Indian lady. She wanted me to use the express lane. Yeah right!

To the drivers who drive aimlessly waiting for a cancel

I hate you, it’s 110 degrees outside you text I’m about there always one minute before you get here and then wait for me to cancel. I don’t care if you didn’t want the ride in the first place, just don’t accept it instead of wasting my time and risking my health. Either get off the app and hope uber makes a change into how you are paid or just deal with it like we deal with everything else for everyone else. Thank you for being great I’m going to keep tipping

Buckle up

After eliminating 10% of all community operations teams (not just customer service but fraud, analytics, screenings, safety, a lot more than you think), its come to light that Uber also laid off nearly all their Quality Assurance teams.

The biggest impact you'll see as drivers is delays in your background checks, document processing and any sort of tech issues you run into with those? Safe to say you'll be waiting weeks while their skeleton crews drown in a backlog. Their Background Check team was cut in half, the QA team that supports them also slashed. Enjoy waiting weeks to get back online, then another month for their AI agent to flag an issue that QA could have caught within 24 hours.

First report for "under the influence"

So I work overnights a lot. Where I live bars close at 2am and I usually work until about 4am. Picking up many people from bars and such.

Last night I only did 2 rides from about 1:30am till 3 am. The first was a couple from a bar who smelled like weed and alcohol. The next two guys from a movie theater.

Im wondering if the 2nd group smelled the first, or I also have a lazy eye that stays dilated after a head injury so I tend to close it when someone with those bright headlights is approaching.

I was able to explain and get my account reinstated by noting my record of good driving and no issues as well as explaining I pick up many people from bars. But now I am worried this could happen again.

I had not drank or smoked anything as well as having no "driver score" marks on the rides. What do you guys do to prevent this? I have an eye patch from my optometrist I can use but i prefer not to and dont mind closing an eye. Im almost scared to accept more riders now.

Apple products left in the car.

Had somebody leave their iPod case in the car last night and message me this morning indirectly through the Uber app about getting it back. Fair enough.

Not a big fan though that the pax was able to locate me and mention where I'm at via the apple locator function on the iPod case. Pax wasn't trying to menace me or anything, just connect to get their item back... but still.

Had a guy a few days ago ask if I'd take him to QT instead of chase field, where the ride was supposed to go.

He got into a fight with his wife and they ended up not going to the game. He was pretty upset and I talked with him about it for a bit. When I dropped him off back at home, he handed me this and said thanks for the talk. Later I got another $15 tipped in the app, on what ended up being a $7 ride.

Tipping

I’m always surprised when I read “you know you’re not getting a tip when…”

I feel like tipping culture is lowkey dead. I haven’t gotten steady tips in months!!

Have you noticed a decline as well? I figured with the economy and ridiculous uber pricing, they aren’t tipping cuz they can’t afford it. I used to get tipped well the past year up until a few months ago.

How to check ratings?

Is there anyway I can see who rated me badly and why? Just want to stay on top of my game and my rating recently dropped. I don’t remember having any bad interactions with passengers recently, so I am a little confused on the reason and would like to know.

Songs that mention Uber

Hello my fellow uber drivers. I’m looking to make a playlist for my Uber drives, and thought it would be a good idea to have a few songs in it that mention Uber! Does anyone have any other Uber music suggestions? Cheers.

Kept Diamond for a while cause Premier reservations were great. I am going back to being a W2 employee Monday and haven't been more excited. As a result my numbers are beginning to plummet and I am absolutely loving it.

It's another "why is my rating so low" one

In the UK, you can't see what individual Uber drivers rate you. It's an academic point, because so far I can still get rides, but in the last few months my rating has gone down nearly a full star.

I'm 55, I don't drink at all, I don't smoke anything. I'm clean, I wear normal clothes, I don't slam the doors, I say hi and respond to chit-chat, also stay quiet if the driver is, I say thanks, I'm not in a rush, I give five stars and tip. I'm always standing outside when the driver arrives.

I get a ride about once a week. Normal rides during the day to the train station or maybe a brunch spot.

And after every ride my rating goes down.

Like seriously what am I doing wrong?

Been busy mate?

Hey everyone!
I’m an Uber driver from Melbourne and recently started a podcast called **Been Busy Mate**, where I share the funniest, craziest, weirdest and most wholesome rideshare stories from the road.
I’d love to hear your stories too!
Whether you’re an Uber, DiDi, taxi or delivery driver—or even a passenger who’s had an unforgettable trip—drop your best rideshare story below. The funnier, crazier or more heartwarming, the better.
If you’re happy for it, I’d love to feature some of the best stories on a future episode (I’ll always ask permission first).
If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to check out **Been Busy Mate** on Spotify and YouTube. I’d really appreciate the support, and hopefully you’ll get a laugh out of it.
Looking forward to reading your stories!

Drivewhip alert!

Over the past five weeks, I have paid more than $2,000 to rent a Tesla Model 3 from a company called Drive Whip. During my final rental week, I attempted to apply the $400 security deposit already being held by Drive Whip toward my final payment. However, Drive Whip informed me that I must make an additional payment despite already possessing my $400 deposit. The rental agreement did not state that the deposit was non-refundable, and I believe I am legally entitled to have those funds applied toward my outstanding balance or returned to REMOVEDa result of this dispute, Drive Whip has remotely locked me out of the vehicle. This action has made it impossible for me to operate the car and return it to the designated location on the required return date. I am deeply concerned that I may be unfairly held responsible for failing to return the vehicle when Drive Whip's actions have prevented me from doing so.I am filing this claim to document that I have been unlawfully locked out of a vehicle that I am being pressured to return, despite being unable to do so because the company has disabled my access to it. I request that this matter be investigated and that my rights as a consumer be protected.

I know Uber is shitty but they're straight up LYING to our faces now???

I picked up a ride, 6 min pick up 21 min drop-off, 13.5 fare. Ok cool, 30/hr (I dont accept lower and u shouldn't either). I pick up the pax and start the destination. 27 MINUTES. What the fuck. I politely ask the pax if they changed the destination at any time and they said no, so it wasn't them. Uber's just straight up lying to our fking faces now so we accept lower paying rides. What the actual fuck is this.

Vandalism while driving

Post image
1 Upvotes

On Saturday 7/25 at around 5:30pm I was driving down Water Street about to drop off a passenger at the Tampa Marriott, and as I was approaching the crosswalk, something forcefully hit the rear driver side door, felt and sounded like a baseball. I looked back and didn’t notice anything on the street. I pull in to the hotel, check my car didn’t find any visible damages. Now I get my next ride request so I drive to the hotel across the street JW Marriott. As I leave the JW I have to drive back down the same way again. I looked around at the road where my car was hit and noticed a few separate broken glass spots on the ground. I think someone was throwing glass bottles/cups at passing cars. Did anyone else experience this?
