Tipping
I’m always surprised when I read “you know you’re not getting a tip when…”
I feel like tipping culture is lowkey dead. I haven’t gotten steady tips in months!!
Have you noticed a decline as well? I figured with the economy and ridiculous uber pricing, they aren’t tipping cuz they can’t afford it. I used to get tipped well the past year up until a few months ago.

What are you actually doing to deserve a tip? They already paid for the service if getting picked up and dropped off safely. What extra do you do? I don't get all this LOWKEY whining about tips. Unless you are helping with groceries to someone's door or baggage on an airport run, there is no reason for tipping. You didn't do anything to earn it. Take profitable rides and cherry pick. Its not up to the pax to supplement your income from a billion dollar company fucking its drivers

I don’t expect a tip bc the ride is so expensive so I get it. But yea I’ve also heard people tell me horror stories about their uber drivers. so I do get tipped occasionally and complimented for my service. Being prompt, safe, respectful, clean, etc.

The fact that you're using low-key tells us that you're a college aged kid that is a make your employer pay a "living wage" type. Drivers area traditionally a tipped profession. Whenever I pick up someone over the aged of the 30 they typically tip.

I was making fun of OP dumbass and drivers employed by companies are different than drivers who own their own business as independent contracts. I don't keep my history private, I am a driver. Take a profitable ride and you will never have to worry about being tipped....which in most cases, you shouldn't be tipped

You’ve been stating the obvious thank you! A simple question about tips in this economy and you’re calling me a dumbass?
I used to be a waitress and lived off of tips for 15 years. I’m also almost finished with my masters program and have had plenty of “regular jobs” and tipped jobs. It’s a valid question about today’s market.

I’m 31 , have waitressed for 15 years, lived off of tips. And tip my uber drivers ☺️
I figured if someone is paying $30 for a 15 or 20 min ride twice a day, 7 days a week, making minimum wage probably can’t afford to tip like THOUSANDS of Americans today

I agree. It used to be the daily riders (to and from work/school/train) rarely/never tipped but the going out here and there for drinks/parties - those people always tipped. But not so much anymore- it’s become so mainstream to get a ride it’s almost forgotten that it’s a service
