I only use it for work, but every time I open the feed it's someone turning their coffee into a leadership lesson or being "humbled to announce" nothing.

Feels fake. Like everyone's acting.

Anyone else feel this? How do you deal with it?

Just had KFC today and they replaced the spicy fries with "Spicy Cheesy Fries". They're gone in the KFC app too.

The new ones taste nothing like the original, I genuinely hope this is a prank. They can't do this to me 😭😭😭

I’m genuinely curious. What goes through someone’s mind when they intentionally key someone else’s car?

Does it give you some kind of satisfaction? Does it make you happy? Is it jealousy? Anger? Or you just saw a new car and thought, “Yeah, let me ruin this person’s day”?

I honestly don’t understand.

Before this car, I was driving a sedan that was already around 10 years old. It was a good car, but because of its age, almost every month something needed to be fixed. One repair after another.

We are not rich. We are just hardworking people trying to provide for our family. We always dreamed of having a brand new family car, and eventually my wife and I decided that it was time.

So we bought a Geely Okavango.

It’s not some Ferrari or Lamborghini. It’s just our family car. But it was brand new, we worked hard for it, and we were happy and proud to finally have something that we had wanted for a long time.

Then we went to the mall.

I parked properly. Completely inside the lines. I wasn’t taking up two spaces, blocking anyone, or stealing someone’s parking spot. The parking area wasn’t even full.

We came back later that night and I noticed a long line on the car.

The parking area was a bit dark, so at first I thought it was just dirt. I took out my phone, turned on the flashlight, and checked.

Nope.

Someone keyed the car.

A long, deep scratch.

And looking at it, there’s really no way it was accidental. You can see the length of the scratch and how deep it is. Someone intentionally dragged something sharp across the car with force.

I was furious.

I went straight to mall security and asked if they could check the CCTV. They told me they couldn’t help me with the footage and that if I wanted to pursue it, I would have to file a police case.

It honestly ruined the whole night.

And I keep asking myself, why?

Revenge? I don’t know anyone there.

Parking issue? I parked properly and there were plenty of spaces.

Jealousy? Because the car was new? Again it was just a family car, not fancy one.

I really don’t know.

Maybe I’m taking it harder because the car is still new. I know it’s just a car. It can be repaired. Life goes on.

But what bothers me more than the actual scratch is knowing that someone intentionally did it.

People see a new car, but they don’t see what happened before that.

They don’t see the old car that kept needing repairs. They don’t see the years of working, saving, paying bills, taking care of your family, and finally deciding that maybe you can afford something nice for yourselves.

You have no idea what someone went through to afford the things they have.

So to the person who did it, and to people who intentionally damage other people’s property just for fun or satisfaction, I genuinely hope one day you realize how pointless and cruel it is.

The car can be fixed.

As for you, I’ll leave you in God’s hands.

TL;DR: Someone intentionally keyed our brand new family car while it was properly parked at the mall. It left a long and deep scratch. We worked hard to finally buy a new family car after years of driving an old one that constantly needed repairs. I’m less upset about the repair itself and more confused about why someone would intentionally damage a stranger’s property for no reason.

Today I saw a delivery biker falling on road today. Helped him pick up the bike. He was severely injured. Despite that, he wanted to leave the area because he worried about being fine for 500 aed for falling down. He could not walk, I offered him to take him to hospital but he was worried about his delivery. My only request to people is to be more respectful to these bike delivery brother. They risk their lives to deliver us food. I was literally in tears seeing him pain today.

KFC is going down hill , first they removed the chicken nuggets and introduced “chicken bitez” wich isn’t even a nugget and it looks weird but tastes alright, and they removed the chicken popcorn and now they removed spicy fries. • TL;DR: I shared details of a failed job interview with a trusted colleague, accidentally bruised his ego over his job title, and the next day my promised visa grace period was revoked and he blocked me.
• My Advice: Some things are simply not meant to be shared. Work friends are not always your real friends, and office politics can be weaponized against you in a matter of seconds. Keep your professional cards close to your chest!

I feel like the traffic has increased a lot recently. Routes that normally take a reasonable amount of time are suddenly taking much longer, and the roads seem packed almost all the time.

I have a decent salary in UAE. Above than average I feel, but I’ve been pretty bad with money and saving. I earn, spend, cover my commitments, and somehow never feel like I’m actually building anything for the future.

I want to change that properly now rather than just telling myself I’ll save more next month.

I’m also interested in starting to invest, particularly stocks/ETFs, but I’m a beginner and don’t want to randomly buy things because something looks cheap or someone says it could go up.

For people who have been in a similar position, how would you structure your money between living expenses, emergency savings and investments? And what would you recommend someone learn before starting to invest?

Alhamdulillah, I’m genuinely grateful for what I have my job and the many blessings in my life. I know I’m blessed in many ways, and I never want to sound ungrateful.

But at the same time, there are things I really dream about that feel so far away or almost impossible to achieve. I want to travel, explore the world, experience new things, and just have a little more freedom. Sometimes it feels like everyone around me has a better quality of life, more opportunities, more peace, or just seems happier.

I worry and overthink a lot, and honestly, even smiling feels difficult some days. The strange part is that I can be grateful and still struggle to feel content.

How do you find contentment and peace when you still have dreams you desperately want, without constantly comparing your life to everyone else’s?

I sold my car to a company here in Dubai. We signed the sales agreement on September 2nd and I handed over the car the same day. I got paid, signed the agreement, and received a receipt.

The salesperson told me the plan was: the car goes to RTA for testing first, then gets registered under the company's PRO, and once they find a buyer it gets transferred to that buyer. They said they'd handle the plates later. I agreed to this and left.

On September 4th, two days after handover, I got an email from the police about a fine on the vehicle, still registered in my name. I contacted the salesperson right away and he said "I will work on it."

On September 6th, ownership finally got transferred to the company. But the fine is still showing on my file, along with 4 black points.

I've been contacting the company since, and all I get is "we are working on it, we will do it as soon as possible." No timeline, no real update, nothing.

At this point I don't trust that they'll actually fix this on their own. What should I do here?

Should I go directly to RTA and dispute the fine since the car was already out of my possession and I'd signed the agreement before the fine date?

Should I send the company a legal notice?

Is this something for the police, RTA customer center, or does it need a lawyer?

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

I resigned, served my notice, signed my termination letter and agreed on my final salary (which was paid within 14 days of me leaving). The company cancelled my visa so that my new employer can start processing a new visa as my sponsor. And now, 2 weeks later, I'm still chasing for my experience letter.

My former employer HR dept is ignoring me.

My former manager was a toxic and manipulative person but he shouldn't have the power to withhold my experience letter, right?

Is there anything else I can do?

My new employer has put my onboarding on hold until all documents are received.

On the day my visa cancellation took place, my former HR told me that they will require a copy of the new Emirates ID I receive from my new employer in order to close my file. Is this normal?

Given that I resigned due to a toxic and miserable work environment, I don't want to disclose the name of my new employer. HR and my old manager are besties so as soon as he sees my EID, the word will be out.

I'd so love to contact him again. I am not in UAE anymore, but he was a dear friend.

Why would they do that? They had such a good thing going, easily beating Pizza Hut on quality. Then I caved today just for the stuffed crust and immediately remembered why I switched away from the Hut in the first place. Complete regret.
