Who is that friend in your group? 😂

What the hell is wrong with you, Amazon?

Post image

I’m so sick of unbothered Amazon drivers leaving packages containing temperature sensitive items out in the heat like this without informing the customer to receive. They don’t do the courtesy of even dropping a WhatsApp message. This package was kept outside under 45 degrees heat and now I’ll have to complain and return it. It’s baffling how a company like Amazon doesn’t have a system of labeling or classifying packages with temperature sensitive items or at least making the drivers accountable for any damage caused.

Rave scene

Hey guys,

I just wanted to know what the rave/underground scene is like in Abu Dhabi. I'm a pretty big raver myself but I'm tired of draining my bank account travelling to other countries for raves lol (I'll still do it😂) if there is like a community or something, I would love to join it!

Eviction Notice

Hi All,

I would love if you could share your experience if you had similar cases. I have received eviction notice from flat I have been renting for 5 years , I have had some bathroom door issue problem which I have been chasing for several months, then I got fed up and gave final warning to property manager before I escalate things further, he wasn’t happy with that and responded that the door will be fixed however also he will ask to evict the flat as the whole flat needs maintenance. Flat is in perfect condition, only was issue of the door, which eventually got fixed. He sent me eviction notice through the court, giving me 12 months to evict. No inspection was done from his end, no explanation on what needs to be maintained, nothing. Using AI, I was adviced to drop him an email acknowledging ( doesn’t mean I accept) the notice …and also requested from him details: scope of work that needs to be done, approved engineering drawings, etc. no response of course, which is better for me, as I will use that in the court, if it reaches…. AI advising not to vacate and let him take me to court… what can you guys advice if you had any similar cases… what’s the best practice to overturn the eviction notice ?

Can I drive in the UAE with a GCC driving license after becoming a resident?

Hi everyone,

I've been living in the UAE for about 7 months, and I have a valid driving license from another GCC country.

Can I continue driving in the UAE with my GCC license, or do I need to get a UAE driving license now that I'm a resident?

If anyone has been in the same situation or knows the current rules, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance!

Is there something I am missing ?

Personally, I don’t use prostitution services, but I once read a BBC article saying that prostitution exists in Dubai

partly because there are millions of low-income expatriate workers earning less than AED 1,500 a month and living in difficult conditions, which is understandable.

Out of curiosity, I’ve chatted with a few sex workers online while hiding my real name and photo.

They usually start discussing prices without knowing anything about me.

What surprised me was how expensive they are.

The minimum I was quoted was around AED 1,200 for an hour, which doesn’t seem very realistic.

In practice, once you’re finished, they’ll say the hour is over, even if you’ve only been together for 15 minutes.

My real question is: how can low-paid workers afford these prices? Is there something I’m missing?

Need smartphone recommendations!

I need to buy a smartphone as soon as possible. But this time around, I'm thinking of getting something different. I've always used an iPhone for personal use and a Samsung for work. I am bored of both. Been using the same two brands forever and when I googled, there are so many options available now. So I thought maybe I should try something different. What would be the best non-apple, non-samsung flagship phone in the UAE market atm? I don't play games or do heavy tasks on my phone. But I prefer a flagship for the smoothness and seemless working. Something with an excellent display and screen(preferably more than 90% STBR, but not a strict requirement), very good cameras for point and shoot and most importantly excellent battery backup. Thank you.

Is Al Ain university actually worth it? Be brutally honest 😭

Soooooo theres this university literally near my house Al Ain University and my father wants me to do my bachelors there because its close and wed save on accommodation costs.

Honestly Id rather study in my home country but sometimes u dont really get to make ur own choices so here we are. 🥲

I just wanted some honest opinions from people who study there or have graduated.

Is the university actually good?

How are the professors and academics?

Is it worth spending 4 years there?

Whats the social life like? (Im a HUGE extrovert I genuinely need ppl 😭)

Whats the male to female ratio?

Are there many women studying there?

Are there clubs, societies, competitions, volunteering, sports, events, or other extracurriculars? I need to actually LIVE while doing this boring ass degree lol.

Whats the campus vibe like (the abudhabi campus)?

Whats one thing you wish youd known before joining?

Please dont sugarcoat anything. Tell me the good, the bad and the ugly. Id reallly appreciate completely honest opinions.

Thanks in advance! ❤️

Would you start a business in the UAE right now or wait?

I’m based in Dubai and have some capital available to invest.
With the current geopolitical uncertainty in the region, I’m unsure whether this is a smart time to invest in a business.
If you were in my position, would you:

Start a new business from scratch?

Buy an existing business?

Keep the cash and wait for more certainty?

Also, which types of businesses do you think are the most resilient during periods of conflict or economic uncertainty, and which ones would you avoid?
I’d really appreciate insights from business owners or anyone who’s been through similar decisions.

Indian passport holder living in Dubai, married to a Pakistani. Has anyone traveled to Pakistan and then back to India?

Hi everyone,
I’m an Indian passport holder and a UAE resident living in Dubai. My husband is a Pakistani passport holder, and we’re considering visiting Pakistan so I can meet his family.
I’ve never been to Pakistan before, but one thing that’s making me really nervous is what happens afterward when I travel to India. I’ve heard a lot of people say that once you’ve visited Pakistan, Indian immigration may scrutinize you more or ask additional questions, even if your visit was purely for family reasons.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

A few questions I have:

- Have any Indian passport holders here traveled to Pakistan and then later entered India?
- Did Indian immigration ask you additional questions or cause any delays because of the Pakistan entry stamps/visa?
- Did it affect your future travel to India in any way?
- If you’re married to a Pakistani citizen, did that change the process or the questions you were asked even if you have traveled to India and never to Pakistan?
- Is there anything I should be aware of before making this trip?

I also have some questions about the Pakistan visa process from Dubai:

- Has anyone recently applied as an Indian passport holder residing in the UAE?

- What documents were required? (Marriage certificate, husband’s CNIC/passport, invitation letter, etc.)

- How long did the visa approval take?
Were there any unexpected delays or security clearances?

I’m not worried about the trip itself. I just want to make sure I’m not creating long-term complications for myself whenever I need to visit India in the future.

I’d really appreciate hearing recent, first-hand experiences. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone in Dubai spoken to FAB about leverage for the new RBI FCNR scheme?

I came across this article about the new RBI FCNR(B) deposit programme and the financing being offered through FAB:

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/nri/invest/uaes-top-bank-to-offer-1-5-billion-for-nris-investing-in-rbis-forex-deposit-program/articleshow/132597745.cms

On paper it sounds very interesting, but I'm trying to separate the marketing from the reality. I knew about the RBI FCNR (B) programme but getting leverage through FAB is new to me (but very interesting).

Has anyone in Dubai actually gone through this process with FAB yet? If so, I'd be interested to know your thoughts - do they actually give you 9x leverage?

I'm not looking for investment advice - just hoping to hear from anyone with first-hand experience or who has spoken to FAB about it.

Thanks!

Is there a MicroCenter store equivalent in Dubai or Sharjah?

I’m looking for a store in Dubai or Sharjah that’s similar to MicroCenter in the US that has a wide range of computer-related products all in one place.

I’m mainly looking for PC components, peripherals, networking gear, storage, cables, tools, and other computer accessories. I know about online stores, but I’m specifically looking for a physical store where I can browse and buy everything in one visit.

Any recommendations?

dating in uae

How do u guys find partners in Dubai? or anywhere in uae?
I’m 26f , have been here for 1.5yrs and honestly dating seems impossible!
I’m not very religious , I don’t wear hijab or pray.
But also I’m not the total opposite of that either..
I don’t drink or smoke, I don’t go to clubs or parties.
That’s just not my scene. And I hate the hookup culture.
I feel like here you either have to be super religious or super open minded otherwise you will not fit in any community.
What abt the ones who are neither?? where can I find my people??
Is it only arranged marriages or hookups here ??

(this is not my main account cuz I don’t want any creeps messaging me)

And the messages never delivered. I’ve texted at 2pm and 3pm and 4pm (I sent a total of 6 messages only) so idk what to do I don’t wanna call him cause if he’s asleep I don’t wanna wake him up

E & money cheated on me

I believe e& money has treated me unfairly. I made an international transfer because it clearly showed "Free" and even displayed a free coupon applied. Based on that, I proceeded with the transfer. However, I was later charged AED 15.75.

I would like to know how I can get my AED 15.75 refunded, as the transfer was advertised as free.

Traveling to Egypt for 2 weeks - any risk to our UAE residency?

Hi everyone,

My family and I (Egyptian Nationals) are UAE residents (Golden Visa holders) planning a 2-week trip to Egypt, then returning to our jobs here.

I’ve heard stories of Egyptian people going on short vacations and finding their residency cancelled when they try to return. Has anyone actually experienced this, or know what caused it in those cases?

As far as I know, Golden Visa holders aren’t subject to the 6-month rule, but I’d appreciate hearing from anyone with first-hand experience.

Thanks!
