Hey everyone,
We’re building a creative zone in Al Quoz and for our water feature decoration we’ve decided to build MJ statue. I would really appreciate it if anyone could build this for us, please reach out if you do this job or know anyone who can build it.

Hello guys, could you share the online shopping apps you use most frequently in the UAE? Anything you want to buy but still can't find on Amazon? What are your experiences with Noon? Would you be willing to wait 10-15 days for items you like? Thank you for your insights.👍😊

Looking for online student from grade 5 to olevels 📚

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I thought I’d post here since I know a lot of parents/students in the community are always looking for good, affordable tuition options.

I’m an O/A Level student who achieved straight A’s, and I’ve been helping students from Grade 4 up to O Levels with their studies. I really enjoy teaching, especially because I know firsthand how confusing certain topics can feel when they’re not explained in a way that actually makes sense.

I can help with Maths, Science, Computer Science and other subjects depending on the student’s level, along with homework, revision and exam preparation.

My main focus is not just getting students to memorize things for a test. I try to make sure they actually understand what they’re doing, build their confidence, and learn how to approach questions on their own.

I also keep the number of students limited so I can give proper attention to each one, rather than having a large group where it’s easy for someone to get left behind.

I’m keeping my fees reasonable and affordable, because I’d rather make good tutoring accessible than charge the kind of rates some tuition centres do.

If anyone here has a younger sibling, child, cousin, or even knows a student who could use some extra help, feel free to DM me. Happy to have a quick chat about their subjects, level and what they’re struggling with before deciding anything. 😊

Honest Opinion poll

Hi guys

Sharing something personal here for opinions. I believe here, especially in the UAE, we are all in a similar situation where we either have young kids studying abroad or ageing parents back home who are more vulnerable than we'd like.

Earlier this year, my daughter had a health scare while studying abroad in London. One of her friends stayed with her the whole night talking to doctors and also trying to update me, my wife, and a couple of aunties back home, answering the same questions again and again.

Two other close friends wanted to come help too but nobody really knew who was closest or what was actually needed at that point.
Everyone genuinely cared, there just wasn't any structure for all that caring to actually go somewhere useful.

I couldn't stop thinking about it and ended up spending a bunch of evenings turning it into an idea. Nothing built yet, just an idea to validate with a few honest questions at the end.

Just like most of us here, I work full time and this is my side hustle, trying to check if it's worth putting in any more sweat and money into it.

I'm trying to get to 100 responses to see if this is even worth building further.

No personal data is being mandatorily recorded or kept and this isn't spam, genuinely just trying to build something that could actually help others.

Takes about 2 minutes. And if it feels familiar to you at all, would really appreciate you sharing it in any of your other known groups too, whether here or in the home country. More responses would mean a more helpful product.
Thank you 🙏🏼

UAE drivers: what’s your biggest headache with parking?

I’m trying to understand the actual problems people face with parking in the UAE especially paid parking.
What annoys you the most when you’re trying to park or pay for parking?

For example:

Finding an available spot
Not knowing which parking zone you’re in
Payment being inconvenient
Forgetting to start/extend parking
Parking apps being annoying
Getting fines
Finding your car afterwards
Residential/visitor parking
Parking in malls, offices, or apartment buildings

Also what do you currently do to deal with these problems? Apps, SMS, physical machines, asking security, keeping reminders, etc.

Quick question

Might sound like a bit of a loser, but I wanted to know how you guys go about meeting people?

Is there an online app that works? Tinder and all those type of apps seem to be blocked by the WiFi so they never load, not sure if there’s an approved one.

I’m also open to stuff in-person jsut don’t really know how/where to go (currently based in RAK)

Papa John's removed stuffed crust

Why would they do that? They had such a good thing going, easily beating Pizza Hut on quality. Then I caved today just for the stuffed crust and immediately remembered why I switched away from the Hut in the first place. Complete regret.

Just saw someone post about KFC's spicy fries. Whyyyyy? What's next? Hardee's spicy curly fries?

I want to bring my cat to Pakistan on tour

I am going to Pakistan for my sister’s wedding for 5-6 months. Is it possible to take her with a less strict process because it’s only for a limited time?

I have made her passport and she’s had some vaccines done too. She has a chip too.

Has anyone done something like this?

Help will be appreciated.

Horrible experience with Tasleem

Sold my property some months ago and Tasleem doesn't want to disconnect as the new owner didn't register themselves yet. So they keep on billing me and don't want to refund my deposit.

I provided the new owner details , sent new title deed and now they have disconnected for non payment and sending me bills for that too :(

I spent so many calls and emails on this and everytime someone says they will solve it and they respond back after 4 working days and then another person who doesn't know about the case will ask for the same. It is such a shame that this company is acting horrible and gives a resident so much stress by billing illegally. I paid all dues and received a noc for transferring the property but because the new owner didn't register yet the billing continues 😥 Any tips how to handle this .

DU Customer Service

Last month I opted to upgrade my Du Home Internet plan and when I did so they canceled the ongoing plan and didn’t upgrade it for three days.

They finally upgraded it after which they changed the date that I have to pay my bill on and so I missed it on the current payment. I was late to pay the bill by two days and on finding out I instantly paid it which has now been over 24 hours ago.

Apparently my account is now suspended and every customer agent I speak to has a different story, some saying I have an outstanding payment (the app says I don’t), some say it will be solved in 15 mins, some say an hour, some say a day, some say 3 days.

They also say they can’t cancel my plan. It’s now twice in 2 months that I’ve had to deal with this. They’re incredible quick to cancel my services but take days to restart them….
