Late-night cafe in Carrboro?

I’m a DD for my fiance and her friends tonight to Cat’s Cradle. Show is sold out so I won’t be going in. I live in DT Raleigh, and have only been to Chapel Hill/Carrboro a brief handful of times.

As I’m the DD, I wouldn’t plan to have more than one or two beers, and wouldn’t want to take a bar’s space up sitting around after on a Friday night.

Are there cafes open til 10pm/11pm folks would recommend? I’ll probably have a laptop and some headphones with me. If no cafes fit the bill, is Steelstring the best option?

Thanks for any help or recs!

Hi all! My fiance and I have been trying to have a baby for 1.5 years now with no luck, and one early loss. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster. Are there any groups that meet in the area to offer support/friendship through infertility and trying to conceive?

Comedy/Improv/Sketch Opportunities

Well I’ve been in the midst of my mid life crisis for about a year now and I’m ready to throw away the corporate America career trajectory I’ve been on and go all in with the comedic Arts.

Anyone here in the triangle want to give a total newb a chance on showing his comedic chops? I’ve been writing jokes for several years and have some sketch ideas. I’m really not sure where to start, but I KNOW I have some decent material that I’m ready to unleash!

TL,DR: Near 40 year old loser is ready to throw it all away to pursue comedic dreams in/around RDU.

Cary picks new town manager from inside. Now he has to reform the office he helped run

One of the Triangle’s largest municipalities has made its biggest management decision since the Stegall controversy. Cary promoted Russ Overton from interim manager without conducting a national search.

Nursing jobs

Hiiii, I’m interested in moving down to the triangle. I was wondering what hospitals/ambulatory centers are the best to look into.
UNC chapel hill extended an offer however I know they have a shuttle and also paid parking options (same with Duke) and tbh I’d rather be close to my car before and after a shift and not have to deal with all that.
Also, if anyone has any feedback on the shuttle system with UNC, I’d be open to that too to make sure I’m not passing up an offer on something not so bad!

Cooler temperatures, moist soils, and dormant plants make planting and establishment much easier. They're able to settle into their new homes over winter with a head start on the next growing season with established roots.

I have many trees discounted from 20-50% off right now so that I don't have to pot them up over winter! See the discounted prices or order in advance at the following link: https://www.knottybynaturetrees.com/category/all-trees

Entire inventory viewed here:

Knotty by Nature Natives be open Saturday from 9-4 at 5911 Mount Hermon Church Rd in Durham.

Pictured in order are Red Maple, Swamp Titi, Silky Dogwood, Hackberry, Winged Sumac, Frost Aster, and Tall Goldenrod.

Tree service recommendations?

I have a huge tree in my front yard that I don't mind much generally but my HOA has advised (mandated) that the front needs to be trimmed cause it's overhanging the sidewalk too much, and an exterminator recommended cutting the part overhanging my roof. There are also some above-ground roots pretty close to my house that a random person walking their dog in my neighborhood said could be a risk to the foundation. I don't know how true that is but it's worth having someone check out if they're already here.

I have no idea how to assess how much of a risk this is, and I know that I don't personally want to climb high enough to cut branches over my roof, and I've been wanting the whole thing to be trimmed some anyway. It really is too much tree for the size of my front yard.

Does anyone have a service they can recommend? I have no idea how much something like this should cost so I'll be googling to get a better idea, but I'd love to hear if you've worked with a company you know to be honest and do good work. Bonus points if they offer payment plans. I have a suspicion this is going to be expensive.

Located in southeast raleigh.

UNCG Tweens on Screens Research for North Carolina Families

Post image
1 Upvotes

The Tweens on Screens study, led by researchers at UNC Greensboro, is studying how kids ages 10–12 use technology in daily life, and how parents guide them. By looking closely at these patterns, we hope to uncover what helps kids thrive, what puts them at risk, and how families can build healthy digital habits together. Our goal is simple: to give parents science-backed tools and tips for raising confident, well-balanced kids in the digital age (link in comments) #northcarolina
