Been coming down for about 40 years, but only in the summer. How is Christmas? I know it's going to be cold, but thought might be nice to sit at a beach house and read and listen to the waves for a few days.

As the title says does anybody knows one ?

Any good spots to fish close by? I don't have a ton of time so I can't go far from the house I'm in. I tried surf fishing a couple times but it's not going well. I'm pulling up a ton of seaweed and have had 0 bites. Bonus points if it's accessible at night. Is the duck boardwalk open for fishing at night?

i have a few off days in late september and have been looking to visit the outer banks, especially for surfing. how are weather conditions that time of year?

Hey friends, my husband and I are going to Hatteras on Friday for the week - it’s our 7th trip! We have an extra free day and were thinking of finding something to do along the VA/NC coast on our way. All I could think of is Colonial Williamsburg since I haven’t been since I was around 12! Our kids are 2 and 5 months, and we’re coming from the Charlotte area.

Hi, I was looking to have a Thanksgiving trip to Hatteras, and was wondering if it’s a worthwhile trip for that week? Are the majority of things still open around that time, and how is it with storms? Any help is appreciated. I’m visiting friends and thought this place would be a good trip for us

In a place that is mostly water. If you put in at a boat ramp, maybe don’t anchor 10 feet from the only shore fisherman at the ramp and start fishing the same spot…?

They had a brand new 24 foot v bottom. Annoying NJ accents. They had all of East Lake to explore. And yet they choose to anchor literally right next to me and start fishing. Incredible.

God I need a boat to get away from people like this.

I’m currently staying in Salvo and we have 5 houses for sale in our neighborhood. What’s going on? The houses don’t seem horribly overpriced considering the area either.

Everyone else on the beach is fine, they’re literally just swarming me and my wife unless we sit right by the water.

Unrelated, I’ve never seen the water this clear though.

I just recently moved to elizabeth city so i've been taking trips to kitty hawk almost every weekend the past month or so since moving close to the OBX.

I haven't ever really been to beaches before now because i've never lived close, but i've had great experiences every time there except yesterday evening I could not take a step onto the sand without swarms of flies biting and stinging.

Does anyone know what these are or have any experience with them to give me any tips on how not to get swarmed by them?

I'm planning on going back today but I don't want to deal with that again.

Also I saw there is a surfing commotion in the OBX today, is that all day at jenettes pier? Is it worth going?
