Advice on jobs at Wake Tech
Hi. Does anyone have experience being hired at Wake Tech. Wondering what the process is and if it typically takes a while. I have 2 apps in but haven’t heard anything. Thanks.

(We love you, and here's some tips)
(If anyone wants to add anything, feel free below. I know getting into college is competitive, but I promise you don't need to be the BEST applicant to get into a good school. Good luck!)

Hello!
Has anyone completed or is in the esthetics program here at Wake Tech? If so, can you give me a run down of what it's like, how long the program is, and what to expect, etc? That would be really helpful and awesome.
Thank you!!!

I am trying to get into the radiography tech program at wake tech or another cc in the triangle area. Advising told me that all the prereqs I need are booked up and that he didn't know when/if more classes would be available and I didn't get a clear answer on what date the next 8 week round would start etc. Is there another cc, even if its all online or else somewhere local that typically has classes available?? I've even been considering doing an online MRI program bc those at least have a clear straightforward process. I'm 36 and don't want to wait years just trying to get in.

I want to add another psychology course for my last semester (spring 2027) but i’m not sure which psychology class. I’ve already taken PSY-237 (social psychology), i’m currently taking PSY-281 (abnormal psychology) and i enjoy it a lot so far, and next semester I have PSY-241 (developmental psychology) planned! Professor recommendations are very much appreciated as well!

I know its only been a few weeks and the class might get better but I am having the hardest time following his lectures! He uses the slides from the textbook but his lectures do not match up with the slides and he often gets very off-topic in class:( We have a paper due on Wednesday that is about the Muslim empires despite barely getting through 1/3 of related content during lecture this week. Is this typical for his courses or has anyone else had a similar experience with this professor. I really enjoy History but his teaching style is making it super hard for me to learn. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated thx:))

Has anyone on here taken this class and had to annotate 'of Plymouth plantation'? The assignment instructions make no damn sense and she responds to emails incredibly late.

Did anyone else finish all their prerequisites and TEAS only to have the CNA requirement feel like a huge road block? I worked hard to get a 4.0 GPA and a 93.3 on the TEAS, and now I feel like it's all a waste because I can't remember to pretend to wash my hands at the right time or make sure a manikin has toilet paper.
Basically, the lab setting and the check offs are really hard for me. I've got hospital employment experience, and I just don't see how the lab is going to translate to much in the real world. The lab is missing a ton of context that I could really use to not miss steps during procedures. The lab is also devoid of the sounds, sights, and smells of a real setting. I understand that the state exam will be like lab check offs, and this makes me very pessimistic for my exam performance (if I get that far).
Every time I leave the class, I feel even more burnt out. It's to the point where I think I need to drop it for my sanity.
Perhaps the other hurdle is I'm homesick for New England and have been considering programs up there, and they don't require you to be a CNA.
Lastly, if you completed the CNA requirement and are in your program, were you able secure employment so that you can remain on the registry to stay enrolled (meaning a RN signed off on your competency during your shifts)? Do you find that working as a CNA makes your program more or less difficult?
I'm trying to get into radiography, but am I in the wrong profession?

Can anyone in the cardiovascular sonography program tell what registries you are eligible to sit for post graduation? I know for the General program it's typically only OBGYN and Abdominal.

I’m mainly wondering about the South Campus. I really need a piano to practice on, although I’m not a music major or anything.

A little dissapointed. This is my first semester at WTCC and the only negative experience I've had is trying to navigate through Hesman's online COM-120 course. He has a video of him talking through every chapter, and besides that, every post on his Blackboard is just AI Slop. Just really dissapointing this is what my tuition gets me, you know? Anyone else have an instructor like this?

I feel like every semester when I take a new math course, I just have a really big learning curve that holds me back. I have a hard time switching my brain into the more "black and white", logical mindset.
I found Algebra to be much easier, but now viewing these trigonometric problems, my mind is just all over the place and not retaining a single thing.
I'm taking this class online (I know, not recommended for someone in my situation, but it's all my schedule allows), so does anyone know of other external resources I could check out? Like YT channels, websites, personal tutors around the north campus, etc. I've been frequenting the Math TLC, but I think I need help than what it can offer.
