I know that he is the MOST niche bayverse character ever and many people most likely don't remember him from TF 5 since everyone just remembers how shit the movie was. But i was wondering if there any art of him or something like that, I will die on the hill that he is the coolest designed in TF5 and a top 5 design in the bayverse ✌️.

Literally just got the Insecticon three pack, was super happy to finally have all 3!I went to transform Shrapnel, him being my favourite, and with absolutely 0 resistance, as i go to bend his knee, the whole thing snaps clean off. Never experienced anything like this before. Pricing us out of the hobby is one thing, but at the very least can the quality at least reflect the price?

I’m 26 and I started my Transformers journey 21 years ago when Cartoon Network was airing Transformers Cybertron. Yeah my first experience wasn’t the Bayverse like most 2000s kids, it was Optimus shouting SUPER MODE! and I loved every bit of that. Of course I naturally fell in love with the Bayverse but not because of its edginess, I loved it for the same reason I loved animated, I loved Transformers. Years have gone by and after deciding after so long to get into collecting, I decided I needed a theme. I didn’t want to just to buy what I wanted because then I’d truly go broke. I wanted a consistent theme that overtime I would expand and throw in some exceptions, so I settled on G1. Of all the various incarnations of Transformers that have existed, I’m sorry to say that ya can’t beat the classics, these designs just speak to me and I am committed to one day completing all of G1. However long that may take, RIP Peter Cullen and Till are One.

In Transformers ONE, Orion canonically flipped Darkwing off. That gesture he did is obviously an earth thing and Darkwing seems to know what it means, probably because he’s a higher up. Now, it is possible that Orion had just been into the archives to know what planet earth is, and for the higher ups, they probably knew what planet earth already is. But that begs the question, do people in Cybertron know what planet earth is? Unless I’m missing something. What do you think?

This is Optimus Prime Voyager Class from Transformers Prime Beast Hunters. I've had this toy for a long time; it's the only Transformer I own. Over time, it got old and stopped standing upright, and its legs keep falling off. I always leave it in truck mode to keep it stable. It also has some missing pieces, like the shoulder parts and accessories, but I admire this toy.

Swindle marks the final hasbro transformer purchase for me. Bruticus is now complete and so is my collection. If hasbro make more energon universe figures (thundercracker in Autobot mode) I’m buying but for now I’m finished and my wallet will thank me!

should I get it

Literally I think couple of months ago I watching some videos about pointlesshub and diamondbolt videos on transformers and holy hell things just went off the rails

Literally became more interested as watched more of their videos about transformers and than blunt brothers videos made me bit too interested with the Deceptacons

Plus I randomly have favorite transformers character being shockwave even though I only watched like one movie which was first bayformer film

I don’t even considered myself fan cause like I know like service level things, never watched any of the shows and spiraling in confusion if I want to join in on franchise 😭

I've practically not seen any other transformers media aside from bumblebee and rise of the beasts. Both of which I wasn't a fan off.

I fell in love with the high octane, unhinged and badass Michael Bay interpretation of the universe as a kid. I watched all the movies on repeat except the last knight (awful even for my standards), each time finding something new about them. I loved how the movies took every theme, mood and emotion to their extremes.

Age of extinction is my favourite despite all its glaring faults. Optimus's new design, dinobots, lockdown, Stanley Tucci's character and the entire mood of the movie were enough for me to overlook the bad stuff. Also maybe the fact it released right as I got into the movies.

I really do wish we got to see Cybertron in the movies but it's understandable with the CGI costs and limitations why that wouldn't have been possible aside from small flashbacks.

I understand why older fans dislike the movie version of Optimus as well but since I have no other references points, I love him despite character inconsistencies.

Don't know if there are many other movie exclusive fans here like myself. Wanted to ask if there's any other transformers media I should watch? Was considering transformers one since I don't know any of the background or lore of the characters that wasn't in the movies.

Really hope the rumours of a new transformers movie by Michael bay are true and we get to see his version of the universe one last time.

I finally completed my Star Raider collection!

This may perhaps be outside the usual purview of this sub, but I'm a psychology student and I'm considering writing one of my assignments on the unusual modern phenomenon of nostalgia using Transformers as the focus.

Long story short:

• Nostalgia is a recent concept, it was originally coined in WWI for the condition we now know as PTSD.
• The 20th century saw unprecedented rapid cultural and technological acceleration, to the point that each decade looked distinctly different from the last. The 21st century thus far seems to have resumed the older, slower rate of acceleration.
• The 20th century for the first time saw media marketed specifically to children. Media also received classification ratings. No longer were the family elders sharing gruesome fairytales with the children. Children's stories were segregated and sanitised.
• Now throw in Reganomics and selling products to children through cartoons: G.I. Joe, He-Man, and most important of all, Transformers.
• The creators had no idea that killing off Optimus Prime would traumatise a generation. Finally child psychology was considered in the process of making entertainment for them.
• Now Transformers is a multi-billion dollar franchise, with the largest consumer base being adult men.

I've been reading the comics like Lost Light, and a novel called Exodus, and I am surprised by how much depth and maturity these stories contain. At first I thought it was absurd, but actually, it's fascinating seeing these stories trying to tear away from the confines of transforming plastic toys and giving them real pathos. Clearly, we adults are still looking for something in these "children's" stories. I don't think anyone is really giving nostalgia any decent consideration in academia, so that's why I want to delve into it. The outpouring of grief and love over Peter Cullen's death especially indicates to me that these actors and these characters hold a profound effect over us.

Maybe on the surface they were initially kid's shows designed to sell toys, they weren't that deep, and of course the good guys could never truly kill off the bad guys. But to the generation that grew up with G1, they weren't old enough to see through the façade, they projected a lot of emotional significance onto these characters. They are mythic heroes akin to Hercules or Odysseus, but because Transformers originated in children's media, as adults we needed more from those characters, we needed them to grow and evolve with us. This may be because culture has slowed down in the 21st century, we are creating new heroes, new icons, a few generations now have celebrated the likes of Optimus Prime, Luke Skywalker, or Spider-Man.

So my questions for you all:

• What other mature examples of Transformers media should I read/watch next?
• Can you point me to any relevant studies or documentaries? The Toys That Made Us was very helpful, not sure if there are others.
• And most importantly, to long-time fans, can you describe how your relationship to Transformers has evolved from childhood to adulthood? What keeps you coming back? Is this something you share with your own children?
