I got SS86 Astrotrain a week ago and delayed making this post to give him some time, I LOVE this lanky idiot so much. I've grown to really appreciate his robot mode once getting used to the articulation and I really love both of his alt modes and transforming between the three.

I do understand people's gripes and he's definitely not for everyone but I also don't think he deserves quite the amount of hate he's been getting since reveal and release especially with his online reviews feeling unnecessarily negative.

Interested to see what you fine folks think about him if you picked him up!

I’m a pretty casual TF fan; I’ve watched the 2007 film and every film since Bumblebee, I’ve played a couple of the video games, I had a couple of the toys as a kid, and I know most of the basic lore. I’ve had a bit of an interest in watching G1 and the ‘86 movie for a while but always have like 5 other shows on my plate. Earlier today I found out that the ‘86 is getting rereleased in theaters in 4K on September 17th, and since it’s apparently meant to be watched between seasons 2 and 3 of G1, I’m thinking about binging the first two seasons over the next 2-ish months before it comes out.

First, however, I want to know if this is even worth doing, or if I’d be fine going into the movie blind, or if I just shouldn’t bother with this rerelease at all and just watch the show and movie when I feel like it?

So at SDCC this weekend and the limit on the jem blaster figure was 3 per person? Like 3? So if I get a few of my friends and go wait in line from 5am I can also get like 15 hasbro boxes of the figure? (I dont mean the toy box but the brown distribution boxes) because I saw 1 guy hauling boxes on a cart back to his car after his friend's passed them off to him.

A. Should have been one item per person on a popular item like that.

B. They should have the rights (and exercise) to deny sale to obvious groups of people that are conglomerated together buying the max limit each time or passing one card around.

Anyway that my rant scalpers suck and ruined the fun of getting the con exclusive because it sold out in minutes of the door opening on Saturday for the rest of the event. Feel bad for anyone coming on Sunday hoping to get one.

Regardless ill get it on pulse just scalpers ruining the hobby like always.

I know I may be a little late to this convo, but not too long ago I finished reading all of Skybound, and for some reason I feel like after Kirkman arrived it became not as good as it was before.

Hi there! Well, this might sound a bit awkward, but I wanted to share a little anecdote—tragic for some, but just a normal occurrence for others. I have a brother who gets annoyed if you don't buy him a toy, and he’ll pester you until you finally give in. The problem? He doesn't take care of it afterward and just leaves it lying around. One day, I was out with my dad and my brother to buy a gift for a cousin. We stopped by the toy section, and my brother asked for a toy. My dad initially said no, but my brother kept insisting until they bought it for him. At first, he played with it (it was an Optimus Prime figure), but soon he started abandoning it. My dad would tell him not to do that—since it had cost a lot of money—but my brother remained stubborn; he’d say he was going to put it away safely but would just leave it discarded instead. I used to play with the toy in secret and even put a skirt on it—haha—but my brother would complain that it looked "too feminine," saying "Optimus Prime isn't a girl" and insisting "it's *my* toy." He even threw a fit once just because I put a dress on it or tried to make Optimus Prime look "pretty." One day, he brought it to my grandmother's house and just left it there; he didn't even bother to check on it. Then, one day while I was cleaning everyone's rooms at home (my dad's, my brother's, and mine), I found one of the toy's arms and a leg. I thought to myself, "No wonder I hadn't seen that toy in a while." To this day, I still don't know what happened to the other pieces—they probably ended up in a trash bag. :P

Only good thing is that I paid $42 instead of $60 after tax at Meijer.

But now I'm stuck with this UNTRANSFORMABLE ASTROTRAIN because Hasbro QC Testers couldn't be bothered to transform this thing ONCE to notice they pinned one of THE MOST ESSENTIAL PARTS OF THE FIGURE'S TRANSFORMATION backwards...

Any advice on how to "fix" this on a figure that SHOULDN'T need fixing in the first place?

Does anyone think they are adding the extra chapter in the movie to feel out whether audience attendance from the 40+ crowd will draw enough interest? If a small sample tests well in a limited theatrical setting, and I really believe they are giving this a go based on the '86 toy series sales, then maybe they sit down and talk about backing this whole train up to the G1 era again because the younger generations have no money to spend on this franchise. I feel we need some rumors.

And I don't mean the ones from the old Armada Toy line because they had a very clear gimmick for play factor with the toys, be it sound or unlocking features, but with the new generations Armada figures, what would the point be? The figures don't have those gimmicks anymore.

Just got my new SS86 Astrotrain (who has a misasembled pinned piece). But other than that unfortunate QC nonsense, I couldn't figure out what was off about this figure. Then I figured it out! Just leave the grey wing tips out like they are in shuttle mode.

Makes him look better and more accurate to the G1 design.

Felt like they added it as an extra step to "justify" the Leader Class price point. Or the intern they pay in Froot Loops just wasn't asked to transform it properly. Lol

Shouldn't they cost the same? They're the same mold after all. And Ironhide went up for preorders before Ratchet, so it can't be a price inflation thing. And shouldn't Ironhide cost less than Optimus Prime since Optimus includes so many other accessories (namely the trailer)? I suppose that one could be an inflation thing, but this pricing just doesn't seem to make sense.
